I finally decided to buy myself a washer and dryer. After deciding against buying one off…read moreCraigslist I began researching used appliance stores in Milwaukee. After calling a couple places and asking about prices, I decided that As New Appliances was the first store I wanted to go check out in person. As New has a plethora of used appliances. They are a used appliance store. They are located in east West Allis. Don't expect anything fancy. When I walked in I made a beeline to their large selection of used name-brand washer and dryers. Prices ranged from about $170 to $220 per unit. Staff was somewhat informal, casual and disorganized but they were friendly in helping me pick out what I wanted. In less than a half hour I had picked out the washer and dryer I was going to purchase. When I checked out the employee gave me a discount of $20 for buying a pair, which was nice. As New delivers and sets up your appliance for $25 in Milwaukee County. I had a $10 off coupon from their website, so my delivery fee was $15. They also offer a 90 day warranty on their appliances. I made my purchase on a Monday and they were able to deliver as soon as Wednesday. However, delivery hours during weekdays are during my work hours so I waited until Saturday for a delivery. Delivery went smoothly. Two men arrived in a big truck. They brought my appliances in and hooked them up (except for the dryer vent, which they make you do on your own). However, during installation one of the men discovered that the spin cycle on my washer did not work. I was peeved that they had delivered me a broken washer and was starting to doubt their name of "As New Appliances." The delivery man told me someone could come out on Monday to fix it. I verified this by calling the shop myself when he left. The woman I spoke to seemed remorseful that my washer didn't work. However, she only offered me between 9am and 4pm on Monday for someone to come fix the dryer. I explained to her that I work during those hours and since they delivered me a non-functioning appliance would need someone to come out earlier or later than that. It took a lot of hemming and hawing on her part and a few phone calls on Monday, but someone did come out later in the evening on Monday. He was friendly, seemed experienced, and quickly fixed my washer. I did 3 successful loads that night. As long as both the washer and dryer continue to work, I will be a happy camper. Am glad they have a 90 day warranty as well. Overall this review is mainly a positive one, although my experience with As New included a few bumps along the road. If my appliances continue to work long-term, I may bump them up to 4 stars. If you are looking for a used appliance, I would recommend you as least check out As New Appliances.

Date of service: March 21, 2025…read more Really appreciated that I could schedule an appointment online with Mr Appliance through their website as I tend to be crazy busy during working hours and loathe leaving voicemails for companies and playing phone tag. Jalen with Mr Appliance also came when they said they would come and resolved the issue quickly and easily. The issue was a grinding noise that our less than three year old dryer was making. an obvious sign that something was not right. Jalen suspected a potential blower motor issue and got to work on resolving it. 25 minutes later the problem was fixed: Excess lint buildup that got through the lint trip and into the machine, causing the motor to have to work harder than it needed to. He showed me all of the lint he pulled out, but he piled it up on the runner below the dryer and on the top of our glass-topped washing machine, requiring me to clean off the washer and wash the runner. In addition, it was $243 for less than a half hour of his time. If the service call is $129, that would make the hourly rate $200 for Mr Appliance--I am clearly in the wrong line of work! Unfortunately I can't really give more than three stars given the cost and cleanup from the appointment.

Wisconsin Kitchen Mart has been in business since 1951 and are considered one of the top kitchen/bath design remodelers in the area. (no I do not work for them). Here is their website: http://wisconsinkitchenmart.com/ This year we embarked on a year long adventure to remodel our entire house (basement, kitchen, 1st floor powder room, laundry room, paint & design in remaining house). When so much being done, it was important that contractors meet their deadlines. We started our kitchen remodeling odyssey by meeting with their designer Russ Waters in Dec 2010 at their large showroom at 36th and Wisconsin. He listened attentively and developed drawings and a quote and within several weeks we had signed a contract. Of course he had to make several other trips to their showroom as well as numerous calls and emails and went through several drawing changes and requotes to get to the final concept but they showed up on the designated day and work was completed on time and on budget. I was able to save some money by doing the demo work and painting myself. Russ and WKM were sensitive to our budget and timeline and they kept the jobsite clean and orderly - it's hard enough to go without a kitchen for 5 weeks.
