I have never in my 40 years have had a dr with such poor ethics, lack of communication skills and basically seemed to give up before I spoke. I saw her 2 times and because of all the bugs and the fact that people can potentially see your sessions ,it was already frustrating. But the man reason I am writing this is strictly to warn people before booking with Owner or dr Jones. She seems more concerned about herself then her patience that need her. She wanted me to book 2 more sessions so I thought things were going well Despite the underlining feeling something strange. So I called to talked to her because I needed help currently, not wasting a month on this lady. So when I expressed to the front desk that I need to know if she was gonna see from now on or not, not only she wouldn't see me but she had the front desk tell me and not herself AND I have 0 clue as to why cause she didn't tell me or call me. She knew were I was mentally and this women is down right cruel and would have been a better doctor if she studied ethics instead of psychology. She might actually be capable of Being helpful for people as opposed to putting a person trying so hard to survive and basically Destroy a good person trying to get help. I'm not going back to any therapist because of this woman ,cause this is my last ditch effort and she literally gave me no hope please think twice about seeing her or Dr. Mulligan he was even worse than her. Well of course his depression often made him want to die but he never acted on it. He never felt he could discuss this with him so eventually he left therapy. Recently he went to see Hannah Whitney Jones. After each season she would say we will try one more time but I don't think I can help you. Well rejection is a very big trigger for him. He took it as he was not treatable. It really did some damage. She offered to refer him to someone else but after these two experiences he said he's done with therapy. Thanks Mental Health Experts! Updating my review to respond to the owner since I wasn't clear enough before…read more Number 1: I didn't get a prescription from TWO DIFFERENT PROVIDERS. I got prescription #1 for my anxiety and prescription #2 for ADHD. BOTH were always prescribed by the SAME doctor for years. It wasn't until Dr. Denise came to the practice that I started having problems getting refills on medication I've been getting prescribed for YEARS. SHE was the one who advised me to get my anxiety medication from another doctor because she would not refill it for me. It has been months since I've had a refill. She DID NOT disclose to me that if I get my ANXIETY medication (prescription #1) from another provider (because she refused to refill it) that she would also refuse to refill prescription #2 for my ADHD. These are TWO TOTALLY DIFFERENT medications. I was not trying to get "extra" or cheat the system, I ran out of my anxiety meds and needed a refill. My last refill was back in MARCH and I was only prescribed 10 pills. Dr. Denise refused to refill my prescription for some reason but advised me to get it from another provider, which I did. I was simply following the advice that Dr. Denise gave me to get my regular meds that I've been taking for years. After following her advice to get prescription #1 (anxiety meds) elsewhere, she later on refused to refill prescription #2 (adhd meds). I have been going to this practice for a few years and have loved it here when Dr. Charlene Bell was still working here. Dr. Bell was attentive, caring and actually LISTENED to patients instead of coldly rushing them off calls after not listening or helping them at all like Dr. Denise Olutoyin Akinyanju. During an appointment with Dr. Denise, I was advised to seek my anxiety prescription refill from another provider. What was not disclosed to me (and should have been) was that doing so would result in my ADHD prescription being denied. I only learned this AFTER I needed a refill on my ADHD medication, at which point I was abruptly told to get all my prescriptions elsewhere. Had I been given that information UPFRONT, I would have just gotten both from that other doctor right then and there. Now I have to schedule ANOTHER appointment with that doctor and miss more time at work. This lack of communication disrupted my treatment yet again, since this happens often with Dr. Denise, and felt very unprofessional. The lack of clear communication, paired with what appears to be punitive action taken after I followed her guidance, has significantly impacted my care. I believe this conduct was unethical, possibly retaliatory, and clearly not in line with patient-centered practice. Additionally, this is not the first time I have experienced undue difficulty receiving long-standing, necessary prescriptions from Ms. Akinyanju, despite a stable history with these medications. I previously reached out to a higher-level manager at the practice about similar concerns and received no response. By the looks of other reviews of this practice, echoing the same treatment by the SAME provider, this is clearly not a one-off situation for this provider. I have been a patient for years with no issues but now I've since decided to file a formal complaint with the Virginia Board of Medicine and have discontinue my care at this practice. If you're considering care here, especially for long-term medication management, I would recommend giving that a second thought.

I saw her once a month, and during Covid, I saw her more frequently with other issues. The transformation is incredible and I've found am amazing peace with her guidance. In fact, she helped me with multiple problems, and this has increased the quality in all my relationships with family, friends and my Self. The quality of care did not change, nor lessen, moving to videoconferencing. I plan on continuing videoconferencing because of my schedule. Dr. Gudor is very gentle in her approach but is also very skilled at challenging me when she believes (and I agree :) that) I'm ready. I trust her judgement and direction because she is an excellent listener. I also really like that she gives me book and video recommendations.

This team of doctors work on people with severe injuries and illnesses that have left them, in one…read moreway or another, incapacitated. The goal is to help the patient live their life the best that they can. I have been here to help a friend with chronic pain and their doctors have been extremely sensitive to his issues and have been extremely empathetic and nonjudgmental. They do have a LOT of patients so trying to book an appointment quickly can be a challenge. Generally they do 6 month followups and don't do anything sooner. When it comes to highly regulated drugs, they will not change your prescription between office visits. You are also required to do a consult with a psychologist and are subjected to random drug tests. Their downfall, though, is that they are so busy and they may not be able to respond to requests, questions and concerns as quickly (if at all) as you would like. However, once you're in the clinic and talking to the doctor, they are extremely nice and friendly.
