Several times across multiple weeks and months we tried reaching out to Heather and to Coastal Virginia Counseling with no response. I even had my personal therapist attempt to reach out professionally and no response was received. A professional therapist ghosting clients in need is one of the most unprofessional things I have ever seen in therapy. Other people have posted positive reviews for this agency so I have to imagine other therapists are more professional but I would strongly advise doing your homework on your potential therapist before accepting therapists with this organization before you place your hopes in receiving therapy.

I've followed her to three locations now and I have to say that I like this one the best. It's got plenty of parking, it's centrally and easily located right off the interstate but with easy access. The building is well-maintained and upkept and the offices are nice. As far as service - therapy is excellent and I firmly believe that everyone can benefit. I've learned so much about myself and have grown through therapy. I first came to Laura while trying to deal with intense feelings of guilt over wanting to divorce my ex husband though I still loved him. Laura helped me work through that and eventually make the decision that was best for me. I've seen her on and off through the years while I deal with various issues but she is always there to help me work through things and process them. If you're stressed, or struggling, or just need to talk to someone - I think having someone who is impartial and trained to listen and provide experience and advice is a great investment in your health and well-being. So I called to talked to her because I needed help currently, not wasting a month on this lady. So when I expressed to the front desk that I need to know if she was gonna see from now on or not, not only she wouldn't see me but she had the front desk tell me and not herself AND I have 0 clue as to why cause she didn't tell me or call me. She knew were I was mentally and this women is down right cruel and would have been a better doctor if she studied ethics instead of psychology. It sounds cheesy, but it's true that she has such a familiarity that feels like talking to an old friend. She never sugar coated or "babied" us. Her objectivity was always fair and held us accountable. We were never judged for anything we said and she always met us where we were in each session. We also loved the exercises that she gave us to take what we learn in sessions and apply them, in practice, at home. Even though we were sometimes sluggish about completing them, she never made us feel bad about it while still holding us accountable.
