I can't give this practice a good recommendation, unfortunately. While I was pleased with Dr…read more Holland's care from a clinical stand point, his billing practices are unethical. They have a cancellation policy which is fair and often necessary to prevent chronic cancellations, however the charge for a cancelled appointment is very steep at $125. As a patient care provider myself, I also have a cancellation policy but use appropriate judgement in enforcing it. For example, if a patient cancelled in adequate time for me to offer their appointment time to another patient, or if it was an unforeseen circumstance and they do not cancel chronically, I do not enforce the policy. I unfortunately had to cancel a Saturday morning visit once ance called Friday AM and left a message informing him of this. Later, I was billed $125 because my notice was only 22 hours in advance vs the required 24. This policy was enforced despite it being my first cancellation and arguably having adequate time to fill my now available appointment time. While this was frustrating, I did still sign the policy and can get on board with paying this fee despite how outrageous it may seem. What really got me though was a second letter with another charge for $125 for a second visit I had "not shown" for. This visit was reportedly scheduled on a weekend I had a huge event that I had been planning to attend for months and know without a doubt, I would not have scheduled an appointment during that time. So now, I was being charged the outrageous fee again, but this time for a likely clerical error with scheduling on Dr. Holland's part. Of course he does all his scheduling nonchalantly during your visit and assumingly enters the date you agreed on into his schedule when you leave. No front office staff is used to schedule. Clearly, it is highly possible for mistakes in scheduling to occur this way. Not a huge deal, unless you partake in the unethical practice of charging your patients fees for these mistakes. After multiple phone calls to Dr. Holland with less than a 50% return rate on missed calls, taking care of the matter naturally took months. At this point, I received a notice that my debt was being submitted to a collection agency. I am disgusted by this practice and would never dream of treating my patients with this amount of fraud and disrespect. If you want to avoid a nightmare, I would recommend finding somewhere else to go. Or, if you're like 90% of the population with work, kids, pets, or other obligations aside from therapy, and you think you may need to cancel at some point during your treatment, be warned about the excessive costs you may incur.

I definitely wouldn't recommend anyone go here to seek help. My therapist was Dr. Julie Kendall…read more She was an ok therapist and I feel like this office is money driven vs actually taking into account what's best for the patient. Dr. Kendall repeatedly said I should continue coming in for treatment although I wasn't able to afford it due to my insurance. I thought it was what was best and she was genuinely trying to help me but almost $1000 later, those sessions are EXTREMELY expensive, I don't feel like the sessions were very helpful and now I have this astounding amount of debt that I have to pay. I think they see people who really need the help and take advantage of the situation for their own monetary gain even if the patient can't afford it. Stay away from this place. There are far better options out there.

Doctor Parker is a visionary! I seen a lot of physicians in a lot of different fields of medicine…read more He is kind and most of all nonjudgmental. One day I had an emotional meltdown and he went out of his way between all of his Patients that did have appointments. All never forget that. I would recommend him to anyone.

I used to use this practice, but not anymore. This is my take: The good: The therapist I saw…read more(Deborah Mostert) was really helpful, while I was going through my divorce and getting settled in my new life. Tip: It is very busy (with many therapists) so I'd recommend getting there at least 10-15 minutes early, to wait in line to pay and check in prior to your appointment. The bad: About three months into therapy with Deborah, I started having trouble getting appointments, simply b/c her schedule was so busy. I was pretty upset and wanted to see a therapist at least once a week. They let me see a different (nice) therapist a couple times, while Deborah's schedule was packed. The problem is that once Deborah's schedule cleared out, the office staff tried hard not to let me see her again (b/c they claimed I had "switched" therapists). It was very aggravating. After fighting with the office staff (being allowed to see my original therapist once more, but being given crap about it), I just stopped going. So, in summary, the actual therapist I saw was good. The office staff / scheduling was very messy, possibly due to the number of patients and therapists (crowded!).

I am thankful I first met him when I was a patient at Va. Beach Psychiatric, it's been a bear a times to get my meds right, but he's never given up on me, and I've never given up on him. I've noticed the Psych. staff have been bringing on new people, which I think will be beneficial for teen/young adults. My son sees Dr. Elliot (I'm guessing he's a young 30), and really likes him. He does not writes prescriptions, but seems to click very well with my son. -I've seen staff come and go over the 17 years and have had many wonderful conversations with them, the staff now are super focused on the phone calls and appointments, but they have been outstanding getting messages to my doctor when I am having a bit of distress. -If you are looking for a new doctor, ones that are taking new patients do require a form to be filled out to review and see if they can take on the new patient. -I can't speak on my experience with the new med Doctors, but I will say the ones that have many, many years of experience do a good job. If you go there and check it out from what I've written, I hope you do find a good fit and wish you much luck on this journey.

The woman who answered the phone was obviously highly pissed off before she even answered. Then she tells me they do not make appointments over the phone - they mail you forms and you mail them back and then they call you to schedule an appointment. 1) Um... wouldn't that be scheduling an appointment over the phone? 2) In this day and age do these folks really think I am going to mail my personal information off to a rude bitch in hopes she doesn't steal my identity and that she will call me to schedule an appointment? This sounds too much like a scam to me. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!
