We had an undetected water leak in a difficult to access area. By the time we became aware of it,…read morethe resulting dry rot had compromised a 14' structural beam, several floor joists and other wood elements. While not a huge job, it was challenging. I contacted Benjamin Construction and was impressed by their response in several ways. 1. Benjamin responded to my initial inquiry quickly. 2. Within a few days, Benjamin came by the house to look over the problem. The communication was good and he was quick to respond to questions. A contract soon followed. 3. The work commenced within a couple of weeks. It would have been sooner, but the unusually wet May and as the work was being approached from the exterior, we lost a week. (Work included the removal of part of a deck.) 4. Once started, the work progressed continuously and with good workmanship. When the inevitable unexpected arose, Benjamin identified alternatives so that we could manage the work scope. Benjamin also had to drive some distance to find a match for our 30+ year old siding. To complete the job by the target date, the carpenter worked extra hours and cleaned up the site well before leaving. Benjamin Construction met all my expectations on this project, good communications, good craftsmanship, overcoming unexpected obstacles, and going the extra mile to meet the schedule target. I especially appreciated the focused effort, even though it was not a huge project.

Dave and his crew, shout out to Angel, remodeled our 1966 bathroom with custom made cabinets, new wall texture, new paint and new tile, sinks, fixtures... everything! It looks beautiful. We, believe it or not, enjoyed having the guys here working for a few months. Angel was our main worker and what a professional! He truly knows how to do everything and does it well! After the bathroom was finished, they tore out the tile in our entry way and replaced it with hardwood floors. Then they took out ( ripped out/demolished) our flagstone fireplace surround and replaced that with a marble surround. They did a great job on everything and brought us into the 21st century! This review is written after our sixth project, but it applies to every single one of our experiences. Our first project with them was a kitchen remodel, followed over the years by remodeling all three bathrooms, installing a tankless water heater, retiling our living room, replacing closet doors with mirrored wardrobe doors, and installing new window trim. Most recently, SLC completed a major exterior project on our home that included removing and replacing significant areas of stucco, replacing a window, repairing portions of our tile roof, and coordinating the exterior painting. We originally began working with SLC when the company was owned by Shawn Lober. Shawn has since retired, and the company is now owned by Andrey Chosenko and Ted Young, both of whom were already part of SLC when we first became customers more than 12 years ago. It is reassuring to see the same standards and commitment to quality continue under their ownership. Professionalism, outstanding communication, attention to detail, fair and accurate billing, and genuine customer care are the words that best describe our experience. They tell you what they are going to do, and then they do it. There are no unpleasant surprises, and they simply refuse to cut corners. Runs a very meticulous construction company and hands down if you have the money to afford Shawn he will build you a home of comfort and luxury that most people cannot comprehend, or fathom. I worked for Shawn many, many moons ago, we did not leave on the best of terms, but I always wish this guy the best of luck. If you know Shawn, he doesn't need much luck because the reality is, he is a gifted person. He will sell high expectations and deliver on those expectations. He is one in a few left in this business, that wants to deliver a high quality product while the average contractor sells you midgrade low end junk from home depot or lowes, or that hole in the wall fabrication shop that gets imports from china. One thing I will always admire about Shawn is that the final result he wants to deliver you in a contract is flawless. It will take me many, many years of experience to reach the level of expectation that Shawn is at, but I will admit that I learned from one of the best in the business. I will take those crafts with me and grow to hopefully become as gifted and crafted in the construction business as Shawn is.
