I'm from the East Bay, so not too familiar with this part of SF. It's mainly a residential section, with a few stores. Seems kinda quiet, and a decent neighborhood with easy parking out front. A very cool and hip front of store with an ultra clean and well presented inside. Each shoe is wrapped in sealed plastic, and from what I could tell, these guys are a stickler from detail: so clean and only the best for the used shoes. They had jerseys and other apparel. Gorgeous stuff. The guys that worked here were very super nice and helpful. Kudos!

I placed an order through their website, only to have it canceled and refunded the following day because the shoes had been listed at the wrong price. I was told the pricing error was due to an "intern" mistakenly listing the item incorrectly. While I understand that mistakes happen, I don't believe customers should bear the consequences of a business's pricing error. Given Grails SF's reputation, I expected them to honor the listed price or, at the very least, offer a reasonable solution. I even asked if they could provide a discount on a future purchase as a gesture of goodwill for the inconvenience, but I was told there was nothing they could do. That response was especially disappointing and left me feeling that customer satisfaction was not a priority. Unfortunately, this experience has changed my opinion of the business. Because of the lack of customer service and willingness to make things right, I won't be purchasing from Grails SF again.

I've been on a 70s polyester kick lately, buying up all the wildly patterned, wide-lapelled blazers I can find. I dropped in here over the weekend for the first time to see what they had and found 70s prints galore and a bunch of amazing jackets to try on. My favorite was a red, white, and blue chevron duster but it had a few issues, such as seams open in three areas and a number of fabric pulls. There were also some confusingly-placed buttons randomly sewn/pinned on but at least those are always nice to have as back-ups. In retrospect I feel a little guilty about having hinted at a discount. It's a fun and special piece and I feel lucky to have it. Thankfully, though, the young lady at the counter was totally gracious about it. In the end, it was worth the hour-ish I spent that evening closing up the seams, pulling through the larger fabric snags, and removing the superfluous buttons. I should note that my duster seemed to be an exception because everything else I looked at was in terrific vintage condition. This is a wonderful shop and I am so excited to have finally found it!

They have designer brands and non designer brands-- leather, wool, silk... mostly items for women but some cool things for men too. It's worth stopping by and exploring the treasures here. The lady at the counter was super sweet! We left with a nice cashmere dress, elegant yet stylish, and a plaid Pendleton wool shirt... both under $100 each and with zero blemishes. Great quality, decent price, fun and relaxed vibe.

The place on the outside looks like a small faded clothing store / travel agency. It turns out the travel agency no longer exits but the main draw for the obsolete looking little shop is: Helene!! Or as I call her, Ms Tran (must always be respectful). I have never experienced such incredibly reasonable prices for the type of alterations that she does. My first encounter with her was to purchase a funky ankle length skirt but when I complained that it flared too much, she said she would alter it for me, right there and then free of charge if I brought the skirt. I was still skeptical but she did it! I've since brought all of my alterations there and even referred her to friends. She gives a discount sometimes if you bring in a lot of goods. And she does everything swiftly. To boot, she is really nice. I'm almost afraid to write a good review for her because she won't be such a secret anymore but I had to do it. She is that good. She deserves the acknowledgment.

He's got such an urban cool style which shows in his artwork and clothing. Most importantly, I love to true SF city feel to the designs. We got him a cute t with a lion silk-screened on it with the words "FEED ME!" scrawled on it graffiti-style, and an awesome hoodie with headphones embroidered around the neck. The heel tip on my favorite pair of Pineapple Outfitter heels from Taipei wore out after a night…read moreout for my friend's birthday recently. I was devastated because these are hands down the best heels I've ever purchased. When I bought the shoes, they came with an extra set of heel tips, so I bought a pair of heel tip pliers on Amazon for just over $14 to see if I could do a quick fix. I soon realized the original heel tip screw was glued or wedged tightly into the heel, so to avoid damaging the shoe, I searched on Yelp for shoe repair shops and found Odsy. Odsy is open during somewhat odd hours, so I timed carefully when to go during a break in the workday. It only took about 2 minutes to explain my issue to the guy working the shop, drop off the shoes, and get a return slip for the next day. He remarked that my replacement heel tips were plastic but said they'd use their own more durable rubber tips. Quoted at $15, which is basically the same as the pliers I returned, I wish I would've just gone here first, but at least now I know for next time. When I returned to pick up the shoes, I was informed that none of the rubber heel tips fit my shoes, so they used my spare set of plastic tips that came with the shoes when I bought them and only charged me $10 for the work. I'm very satisfied with the work done and so relieved to have my shoes back in a functional state. I'd highly recommend Odsy for your shoe repair needs and will certainly come back myself for any future repairs.

It took me 5months to pick it up because I coming from San Jose couldn't make the time to go but I was finally able to and Mr. Odsy himself told me that you can ship the shoes to him and vice versa for $10 about to San Jose, all you need to do is call to arrange! That's so sick and modern. I'm definitely gonna be back for more worn pairs.
