The food left a lot to be desired and took a long time to be served. The burger managed to be dry and overly greasy at the same time which confounded me. The country fried steak was ok but its the same prepackaged stuff you see at any southern or diner restaurant. It's saying a lot when the old Highway 55 that was in your space was worlds better than the new diner. The service has slowed down, and the prices have been hiked up. The worst part is that they've added breakfast to a classic burger-and-fries diner and removed several classic options. I tried a burger, and it's hard to say, but it was terrible and way too chewy. It came with a handful of fries that were in a pinwheel shape instead of a massive pile of starchy, salty shoestring fries that Highway 55 used to deliver. Sadly, they weren't even that good. Better Days needs to improve their craft of burger creation and give us real shoestring fries- lots of them- before I'm coming again. read more

Fast, tasty, and gluten free options! My husband and I were excited to try this place since they had a dedicated fryer for fries and gluten free buns. The diner style vibe is fun, but the seats are extremely close together so it was packed for sure. Also, the lemonade was extremely sweet--tasty, but very sweet! They had an orange lemonade that I didn't try but sounded cool. The place was very busy, but our food was still brought out fast. I would have given 5 stars, but I had two main reasons for giving just 4. One, their fries were not my personal favorite but I'm mostly taking a star off for false advertising. Their menu has sides vs premium sides. I asked my waiter if the drink came with the meal and she confirmed it was included on the burger's price. So I ordered a lemonade which was listed on the normal sides (online is different from the paper menus we were handed). When the bill came, I was charged $1.50 extra for the lemonade (don't come at me, I know it's not much but it wasn't marked up on the menu) and I asked the waitress and she wasn't willing to discuss it but just stated that this was the cost even though the menu didn't state that. I am willing to try this place again, but I believe an updated menu would help clear up some miscommunication for other future guests. Visited Better Days Diner today looking for a solid hamburger in Nolensville. The diner 50s atmosphere was clean and enjoyable. The service was excellent. Immediately greeted by staff and asked to sit down wherever I liked. The waitress was quick to give me a menu and was very friendly. The food was average to above average. I ordered the Classic Cheeseburger and added bacon. The bun was fresh and the fixings were fresh and plentiful. The burger was thin and smashed so it was cooked well done. I barely tasted the burger. Very small and thin. Tasted like a fast food chain smash burger. The fries were an unusual shape, but mostly crunch with little potato on the inside. Disappointed in the experience. Two more people came in after us and was told the same thing but I'm guessing they wanted to make a Togo order. We had been sitting for a little bit but could see that there was only one waitress. She proceeded to take the togo order and one of the cooks came and brought us a menu and said that the waitress would be with us soon. An older lady came in at this point and sat down at a dirty table. At this point the waiter brings the lady a sweet tea to drink, still has not come to our table and it has been some time now. She proceeded to walk by us and say she will be with us in a few. She then makes some Togo drinks and takes a man money. She then gets a rag to clean the ladies table. She proceeds to have conversation with the lady still has not taken our drink order, and then proceeds to take the ladies order as we're still sitting there with no drink order I will never come back to the establishment again. Just found this location, had been to a different location about a year ago, and this place is Just as good as the other. Nostalgic decor and the really good Food makes it a great spot. This one isn't so easy to spot from the street, but once you arrive inside your greeted with a delightful interior. It's seat yourself, but if you're with kids look to your left and grab the seat that's a cut out from a classic car. The hamburger was fresh, not frozen so definitely a step above typical fare, but other than that pretty standard. The fries were a bit over salted but at least hot. This restaurant is absolutely adorable and they really went all out for their decor inside!! They have a pretty good menu ranging from burgers to shakes and even frozen custard! I came here with a friend and we both enjoyed what we ordered. They also have a juke box (which is just for display). The staff was extremely friendly and the food came out pretty quickly. Hwy 55 is an adorable old-school diner with amazing burgers! When you walk in, you're transported to the 50s. The place is so cute and definitely family friendly. There are even vintage tables. I love the burgers at Hwy 55. Their regular cheeseburger is my favorite but I customize it myself. It's a BIG burger so bring your hunger! The pimento burger is also pretty good, if you're into pimento cheese. Not a fan of their tots or fries so skip those calories and go straight for a shake! As far as shakes go, these are delicious. They're SO creamy! I love the plain chocolate with my cheeseburger. read more

I ordered the Cheeseburger, Andy's Size with provolone cheese, with everything, and fries and sweet tea, the hubs ordered a double burger. Andy's size with mustard, ketchup and grilled onions, onion rings and Diet Pepsi. Our orders came out quickly and the burgers, they are take you back to flat top diner cooking amazingness! The bun, the juicy burger, the melted cheese, the fresh tomato, lettuce, it all works out perfectly! And I LOVE the music, reminds me of my Pops!! He would've loved this place! Apparently this place changed name and ownership and the FOOD! I'd understand changing the food slightly but if I wanted my burger about half the Hwy55 size, I'd go to Crystals. The taste was still kind of there just not much of it and dry. The meat cookie was almost crunchy. It was so thin a match could almost bring it to a crisp. Seriously, almost had to search for the meat and stuff between the buns. I never before thought about reporting a charge on my credit card as fraud for a food purchase before today. I believe the price even went up on the food. And they seem to believe they still have the same menu as Hwy55 too. That's the worst part and the reason I'm leaving this review. Wow. I realize this is a fast food place - I bring my kid here and have appropriate expectations. The back of the restaurant smelled like sewage. Like there was a portable toilet in the restaurant. The staff were standing around, eating and drinking in sight of customers which is typically not allowed in restaurants bc of health codes and hygiene practices. The restaurant was dirty. The soap in the bathroom smelled like mildew! Floors, tables, the drink station. The cup for my drink looked as if it had been used already. Somewhat gnarled around the edges. The food was typical of any other visit, hence the two stars, but the state of the restaurant means that we won't be coming back for quite some time. It definitely killed the appetite.
