I did a mobile order over the app. I give time allowance before heading over to the location. I get in the drive through line, they had a person receiving orders and they had a headset. I tell her I have a mobile order under my name with two drinks and five food items, to which she says she'll contact them and ask if it's ready. She turns back to me and says the order is ready and to just head to the window. Waiting in the drive through is not the problem, it was then at the window. The person at the window was already trying to hand me the drink saying "alright Maria here you go" instead of making sure who I am. I tell her I'm picking up a mobile order, under "Kristine." She comes back and hands me a drink that said "Christine" and I repeat myself saying it's under Kristine, with a "K" with two drinks and five food items. Again I don't care about waiting. While waiting, I can hear the worker at the window and a fellow worker talking about my order as "that big ass order" which is incredibly unprofessional and honestly offensive. They were repeatedly referring to my order as "that big ass order." They were scrambling around inside trying to look for my order. They were so busy talking shit about my order that by the time I received my items, none of them were bagged and I wasn't even offered one either. By the time I checked my food items, they were inconsistent. For example, I ordered a ham and cheese croissant and requested an egg to be added-- I literally received a croissant and an egg shoved into it with no ham or cheese. Honestly, I am afraid my food was also tampered with. I am deeply disappointed with this specific better buzz location. I'm not one to give a bad review and I normally give places grace but the shit talking really made me feel like it's not worth my time or money to return. I love Better Buzz, but I don't love the incorrect time estimate for the online orders. This hasn't happened to be once, but this was the third time the online order incorrectly estimated the ready time. I was quoted at 7:04 that my order was ready. Since I know it always runs late I gave it more time before I arrived to pick up my order. 7:17am I come inside to pick up my order and they informed me they still needed to make my drink. When I asked if they were short-staffed, the young woman up front stated yes. I know the person running the drive-thru didn't like that question because they definitely showed it in their face. When the manager Christina checked in on the person in front, if she was trained on XYZ drink, she stated no. Now I am going to make an assumption here, maybe the girl up front made drinks which were easiest for her or she knew how to make them, because of the orders waiting and to not fall behind. Regardless, the time estimated was nowhere near the time committed. I asked the manager to just cancel my drink order because I did not want to run later to work. (Which I believed I had prevented ordering ahead but my attempts failed) If you are on a time crunch, do not order ahead. It saves you no time and you are actually going to wait a lot longer. Chance it with the drive-thru and hope there is enough tenured individuals present to ensure efficiency. I completely understand a lot of businesses are short-staffed, which is why I ordered ahead to make it easier to manage the time needed to make my order. But I think the store manager needs to be held accountable. Train your team members better to ensure they're comfortable doing all orders instead of cherry-picking. Your team works hard but I don't think they're being set up to succeed. Also I received the final text at 7:31am that my online order was ready, the original quoted time was 7:04am. read more

Let me start by saying I LOVE Better Buzz. I come to this location every single time I visit my parents' house in San Diego. But after my most recent experiences, I'm not sure if I'll be doing that anymore. I came to this location 3 days in a row, and I don't what's going on, but something is up with this location's staff. I get it, it's busy during the holidays, and I'm sure they get customers that aren't on their best behavior. But I've worked in hospitality my whole life. There's no excuse for just plain, bad service. If you're going to keep your mobile order open, then you need to look up and ask the people that are standing around awkwardly, especially if you're not placing any drinks on the shelf. It's not okay to make the customers feel bad for ordering at your establishment. Mind you, I was extremely patient. I waited an additional 15-20 mins AFTER my scheduled pick up time. And most of it was because no one acknowledged me. A simple apology or update would have been great. I would have understood. But bad service is bad service. (This review was not based on one visit. Everything tastes amazing, and honestly, their coffee has me questioning whether I ever actually needed sleep in the first place. I have fond memories of the Hazelnut Divinity drink from other Better Buzz locations. This experience was unfortunately disappointing. The staff seemed disorganized even though there weren't that many customers. The first worker took our drink orders by writing it on each cup, and then we had to repeat our order again since the second worker only got to the register by our 3rd drink. The first worker was partially making our drinks while also listening to us relay the order again to the second worker. I believe this is what resulted in the drink mistakes. We ordered: -Hazelnut Divinity with oat milk and regular sugar -Hazelnut Divinity with whole milk and half sugar -Vanilla Latte with oat milk -Banana Matcha with a splash of oat Unfortunately, they got the order wrong and gave us whole milk for both Hazelnut Divinity drinks despite one of the labels saying oat milk and us paying for the oat milk substitution. On top of that, most of the drinks ran on the overly sweet side compared to the other times that I've had Hazelnut Divinity. The tables, booths, and floor also looked quite dirty. A cute and clean place. Located in a big plaza but parking can be difficult unless you park further away. Spacious with lots of seating, good for working and groups. They even have a Drive-thru! It was busier there than inside the store. My husband ordered the Freshly Roasted coffee but it was very watered down so he had to get a new drink (without charge) They forgot my order after 15 minutes in. They apologized and comp me a pastry. I had the Pistachio Croissant and it was really good. The croissant was soft and had lots of pistachio nuts. My Banana Pudding Best Drink Ever was good. I'm admittedly not the biggest fan of Better Buzz, but this location was honestly a bit worse than several of the others I've been to. The drive-thru line has an unconventional set up, they have really big rushes, and the customer service is fair-to-middling. I went in a Saturday around noon and about 15 people arrived at the same time as me. Obviously that's no one's fault, and the staff were under pressure, but it took unusually long to get the mocha blended iced coffee as I sat with my too other drinks. The blended iced coffees themselves were good enough, though characteristically too sweet. The cold brew was middle of the road. Decent drinks overall, just an odd layout, an excessively busy store, and not the greatest customer service. read more

I tried the pumpkin chai iced latte today. A good four out of five. There wasn't much pumpkin flavor as I thought, but it was still pretty good. I got the regular size which was perfect. The food and drinks here are always pretty solid. The reason why I rank this location of four starts out of five is their drive-through really is just inconvenient. you basically pull up and then make a U-turn to go. I was very excited for a mid day pick me up coffee and unfortunately it was not a great pick me up experience. Firstly service was a mess. There were 5 workers but somehow everything was very disorganized. Our cashier wanted to make our drinks one by one before taking down our order on the cash register which caused some errors in our drinks. For example we were charged an extra $1.00 for oat milk but our drinks had whole milk in them. When we finally did get our drinks they were extremely sweet so it was difficult to taste the coffee. Additionally, the shop was quite dirty and there were crumbs everywhere from the tables to the chairs to the floors. This is my first and likely last time at this Better Buzz. read more

I have not been to a better buzz in a long time and recently I was craving their tasty iced chai as it is my favorite chai I have ever had. I decided to go through the drive thru because there were only 2 cars but I have to say it took awhile even with only 2 cars ahead of me. There were a lot of questions and it could have been because the car in front of me ordered a lot but who knows. I ended up just going with a dirty chai which I have never done before but I really enjoyed it. Love this place, they are always fast and efficient. This time I tried their orange chocolate chip scone and I was very pleasantly surprised. I'm not usually a fan of scones but they did it well. It was very light in the orange flavor, I feel like they could have added a bit more orange to it. I also tried their banana pudding best drink ever and it was great. I loved the Nilla wafer cookies they topped the drink with, it was a nice sweet treat. I ate the cookie first so when I pulled them out they were covered in the banana cold foam and that was lovely. Unfortunately this particular location absolutely must train its staff better. First of all they lack the friendliness. that i'm used to at better buzz. Then they don't listen to the customer's order carefully. I ordered a decaf mocha with an extra half scoops of mocha. The guy at the register typed in an extra scoop of mocha the n added half sweet. I corrected him by saying i wanted it extra sweet not half sweet. He insisted he was correct. Of course five minutes later the drink comes out half sweet and had to be remade from scratch.
