We contacted Austin Pro Siding as part of a comprehensive siding replacement project, as our…read morefiberboard siding was end-of-life and starting to really have problems that would have only gotten worse. Along the way, we also discovered that we needed to have the roof replaced, and so put that in the mix for a bid as well. We contacted six different companies, each of which brought a particular set of strengths and challenges. We chose Austin Pro based on a combination of factors: personalized attention to our project, comprehensive estimate and explanation of each line item, and ability to get the project done on a timeline that worked for us. We chose to have the house re-sided with Hardie Plank, painted with Sherwin-Williams paint, and re-shingled the roof with GAF shingles. It's easy to get overwhelmed by the process of basically re-doing the entire house, especially when insurance companies come into play. To that end, everyone at Austin Pro was first rate. Before we even settled on a contractor, Paul, our project manager, walked me through the intricacies of the process, and spent probably more time than he wanted explaining how things would go, and what options we had. The bid was competitive, and the line-by-line items on the original bid made it easy to see what was going to be done, and what materials were going to be used. He was patient and courteous and flexible, and was also able to speak to us in a way that didn't make things even more confusing. Kevin was the siding project lead, and though we never met in person, I felt comfortable that he had our best interests at heart as he got the crew on site, working fast and efficiently to remove and replace the siding. He even called in the middle of the siding job to tell us that we didn't need something we thought we would, saving us money that we could then use for add-ons we didn't originally budget for. The siding install and siding paint was done beyond our initial expectations, with nice touches like window framing and utility box framing that I didn't even know we needed but now look perfect. We had the back door repainted as well as our front balcony and pillars, and the end result is fantastic. It really was done to the point where it looks like a brand new house, and not one built in the early 1990s. Paul was back on site for the roofing job, and the roofers did a great job removing and replacing the shingles and skylight with new materials, on a roof that is exceptionally steep and challenging. They had the entire project done in only two days, and it looks fantastic. Finally, Garrett came by to do the final walk-through and punch list check-off, and was a real pleasure to interact with. He fulfilled all the items on the list, at least the ones he could do on his own, and did so in a friendly, courteous, and extremely efficient manner. All in all, Austin Pro lived up to their name and to their reputation. It is possible to find a company that can do your big jobs for less, but I am not sure you could find one that could do it better. They stand by their work with a quality assurance guarantee, and while I don't intend to need it, it's great that it's there.

Our project manager, Nate, worked with us extensively to find the right options to fit our vision and budget. He patiently answered all our questions, offered his expertise, and checked in on the progress during and after installation. Both the window and siding crews were courteous and efficient and every last detail was addressed during our final walk through. We are loving the new look along with the temperature and sound regulation benefits! For reference, we also got quotes from Window World (slightly less expensive but not energy efficient certified), Titan Windows and Siding (significantly more expensive), and JP Construction (comparable on almost everything but not quite as proactive on follow up).

I recently had 21st Century repaint the exterior of my house. You can find that review here as…read morewell. I'm writing a new one because this is a different project. After they finished painting my house, a few weeks later after heavy rains I noticed a stain on the ceiling of a guest bedroom. I knew immediately it was the long nagging problem of the "dead valley" along my roof. The house was designed and built according to the architect's drawings to have the roof of the first floor bedroom run into the siding of the house. It was a short "run" and rainfall should go quickly into the gutters. But, this was built under a big, old oak tree and for many years, I've had leaves and twigs built up, damming up the water. If I can remember it, I have to get up on a ladder with a rake and rake the leaves away from where the shingles meet the siding. After one major hailstorm, I had the roof replaced and when they replacing it, I asked them to build something to reduce the leave/branch damming. They did build it, but apparently not big enough. It lasted probably 14-15 years until this recent Spring. Since I had a good experience with 21st Century, I called them out to give me a bid on repairing what was probably rotted trim and exposed flashing and other rot elsewhere. And while they were at it, I asked them to build me a better diverter away from the siding. They came out and took care of it in a day. The guy was there from 8:30 to 5:00, taking a break for lunch, but got it done. Since they were also the painters, they asked me for the leftover paint they left for me (for touch-up) that came in handy as they had to replace the rotten trim and as it turned out a section of the roof decking. Attached are the pictures they took for the bid and then afterwards when they were complete. They were detailed enough to ask me first, "hey, this diversion we're putting in is a lighter grey then your shingles. Are you okay with that? We can go back and get darker materials". I said that was fine. No one can see that part of the roof and so it was trivial to me. The only negative thing from the painting and the roofing experience is so minor it's not worth taking away a star is that there will be a gap between when you sign and return the contract and they contact you about scheduling the actual work. In both cases, I had to drop them a line to remind them I was in the queue. Being a service that can't work when it's raining, I can understand that they have days where scheduled work is delayed and that causes a snowball effect of delays.

Sears, Lowes, Austin Pro Windows and Siding, and Texas Windows and Siding. Sears and Lowes were not very responsive and when I was able to get them out for a quote, they didn't seem very interested in doing the job. When I finally did get their quotes, the cost was more than TWS. Austin Pro was very responsive and professional, however, their cost to was also much more. I submitted a request to TWS via the Yelp app and got a response back in record time from Paul. He set up a convenient time for me to meet with Glen to get a quote. Glen showed up on time after hours and discussed all of my options regarding new windows, doors, and siding with paint. Do you ever meet someone and just get that feeling that they are "good people" and then worry that your feeling is going to let you down? Well, that is how it was like meeting with Glen. He is very professional and genuinely wants to help people. I had a set budget for this project and instead of trying to sell me on going over my budget, he worked with me to discuss exactly what I wanted out of this project and let me know it would be tight but doable. He was also very clear on that if the house had rot under the existing siding, replacing the rotten studs would be outside the price quoted for the windows, doors, and siding with painting. Basically, he spelled out the cost very clearly. I am so glad to find out that my feeling was 100% right. Glen is good people. Due to severe weather issues, it took some time to schedule the project. Basically, my yard was flooded. For like over a month. Thanks Mother Nature. However, Glen stayed in constant contact with me and let me know that as soon as the water went down and it stopped raining long enough to dry out, we would set a start date. And as soon as the weather allowed, we set a start date. Now, the best part, Glen stuck to the price we agreed on. And when we found out that part of the house was missing insulation, he called me right away to discuss how to best address the issue and what the additional cost would be. I have to agree with the other reviews, both crews were amazing. The window and doors guys (Chuck's group) replaced 11 windows in one day. And they must have been Girl Scouts, because they left my house much cleaner than they found it. Chuck is a perfectionist and even though replacing the doors on my house is like putting lipstick a pig, he and his crew made sure both doors and trim were perfectly installed. The siding crew was just as top notch. Everyday, they cleaned up and Glen let me know what to except throughout the project. Did I mention that I was at work for most of the siding project? It was kind of awesome, everyday I saw amazing progress. It was like Christmas everyday. Two thumbs up for Gleb and his crews. Or five stars . They deserve both. And if you are wondering, how all these people can give five stars, I will tell you. Glen does not consider the project complete unless you are completely happy. His goes above and beyond for his clients. And it shows with the results of the jobs.

Our home is over 20 years old, and the original windows and siding were constructed with poor material. Several aluminum framed windows were foggy due to leaks, and even one window had a major crack on one of the panes. The original synthetic wood siding was in similar shape where rot was occurring in some areas. Making a major renovation is certainly a difficult financial decision, and you want to insure you find the company who is engaged, skillful and honest from beginning through the end. We found Texas Windows & Siding on the internet with fantastic reviews but few in quantity (to find out that number is only due to the age of the company). Glen M. of Texas Windows & Siding called us back within the day of requesting an initial consultation (and his response time remained constant or better throughout the entire process). Others companies were much slower in response time and follow up correspondence. Glen M. was always forthcoming and honest in answering our questions and requests. Our budget for the products we wanted were met favorably to the competition that we ultimately decided choosing and trusting Texas Windows & Siding for our major renovation project. The biggest unknown once you order the products is who will be working on your home. Texas Windows & Siding has two separate crews, one for windows and other for siding & painting. BOTH crews were absolutely fantastic. Professional, friendly and respectful to our home and our family. It was easy to engage and ask questions from Chuck, the windows crew chief, and Rene, the siding & painting crew chief. And of course their workmanship and craft were equal to the task. Since project completion we have had several neighbors give glowing complements the work Texas Windows & Siding has done and asking for their business card. One neighbor confided that they had wished they used Texas Windows & Siding instead on recent projects because the process & time tables didn't meet their expectations, and were amazed on how smoothly our renovation went in comparison. I will reiterate how thoroughly pleased we are with the look of our older home looking new again thanks to Texas Windows & Siding. After completion and we could say we had no regrets, we knew we had chosen best company for our home in Texas Windows & Siding.

Instead of being annoyed at the idea of the time and costs to send a crew again, he was reassuringly chipper and said not to worry because revisits are to be expected in construction work. Coming with a sense of ease from the owner, this attitude alone is enough to make me confident to be a repeat [detail-oriented] customer. - Because some rot can't be discovered until construction starts, Gabriel mindfully added buffers to the measurements as a precaution. Still, some areas didn't need replacements (which I assumed I'd eat the costs) and other areas needed more replacements (which I assumed I'd be charged), and Frank figured they more or less canceled each other out. Zero extra charges. Zero nickel and dining for a few extra feet here and there. - I don't think this was intentional, but I'm glad they brought out a different crew to complete the carpentry before painting. It's not uncommon to send the original crew to ace a job, but I always prefer fresh eyes and fresh mentalities than workers who might feel like their work/ ego was criticized. - Everyone was always thankful (thankful!) that I'd raise a concern, whether it was requesting more explicit language on the contract, inquiries about materials and processes, or reviewing paint designs. - Because we were also getting our roof fully replaced around the same time, I long-windedly expressed concerns about the stages of construction with Jennifer over the phone, and her follow-up email recapping our conversation was total proof that she was truly listening and digesting the specific points I made. (A lot of people in the construction industry completely lack these skills for empathy and communication.) - Siding is level. Siding painting was so very smooth - what talent! My only two complaints are (1) painter's tape should have been used for hand-painted sections, where paint unevenly ran onto window frames and (2) the gable vent's back insert could have been shaven down to account for the unlevel framing on the house. Basically, the section where the gable vent is inserted into the house is a little crooked, but PSP could have tried hiding the fact by shaving some of the gable vent's back in order to rotate it to appear straight in the front. - Beyond being a certified James Hardie "Elite Preferred" contractor, PSP's integrity, old school values, and long-term perspective has won us over. We're so grateful to the whole team for helping our aging home get much-needed TLC.
