    Training with Lisa has turned out to be one of the best health and fitness investments I have ever made. Through commitment and hard work, you will see the results you want. Lisa is the person to help you stay motivated and encourage you along the way. Lisa has helped me train for running events, motivating me to be faster and stronger- all without injury. When my work brings me out of town, she emails me tailored workouts so that I can stay on track. She puts a lot of thought and thoroughness into her workouts and is always striving to stay current with the latest fitness techniques. Everyone is looking for something different when it comes to working out, but we all have a common goal: to have a Better Body!

    I've attended Better Body Saturday boot camps when they were held at the Lake in the past, but I never stayed consistent with it. This is due in part to the fact that I work for a company that provides onsite trainers and a fully equipped gym as a benefit to its employees. I couldn't justify paying for that extra expense no matter how effective Lisa proves to be. However, even with this awesome offering at my disposal, I wasn't seeing the results I wanted. So at the end of December I decided to sign up with Better Body and begin my fitness journey towards a better me. & I must say consistency does pay off. Better Body boot camps + her nutritional advice + encouragement + motivation + positive energy = a healthier, stronger, and happier me! Don't get me wrong, getting up at 6am is a grueling task, but Lisa makes it worth it. She strives to provide variety, fun, safe and effective instruction that leaves me feeling challenged, stronger, accomplished, alert and ready to take on my day. Not to mention, you're able to foster amazing relationships with a great community when you join Better Body. Lisa brings together people from all walks of life and fitness levels. We come together to inspire, motivate and support each other. It's a beautiful thing!

With the coaches help, I've lost over 40 pounds of fat in the span of a year and gained muscle mass. Urban Fitness emphasizes using free weights, focusing on form and technique before lifting heavy. You'll find that while you're able to squat heavy on machines, poor posture and bad habits from not bracing your core does little in the real world. The style of training can be transferred to every day chores from carrying bags of groceries up the stairs in one trip, to lifting your fridge while remodeling your kitchen. I never realized how little I could lift on my own without machines involved. The workouts are class based and has a coach demonstrating each set and correcting form. As intimidating as a class workout sounds, the community and friendship bond you will find in class are unmatched. It's really easy to make friends, especially if you're someone working from home and need a change of pace, this is a good place to go. The people I've met here became my family. We go on snowboarding trips and run spartan races together. It's not CrossFit and all levels are welcomed. The highly trained staff can provide all different levels of workouts whether you're new, looking for a challenge, or injured. There's something for everyone.

Routines were thrown out the window, gyms were closed, and it wasn't until Emma W nudged me to try out this whole UrbanKick thing, and it was exactly what I needed to keep my workout routines going while sheltering in place! I cannot rave about how AMAZING Shane is in all her classes. Every class she brings the energy, good vibes, and whoops my butt with each and every HIIT class. I used to hate HIIT and it was Shane that made me fall in love with it. It was because of Shane's classes that I lost 15+lbs during quarantine, and it was the best I had felt physically in years. Working out at the gym religiously for the past 6 years, it was the change I needed to help shed those stubborn lbs! The 12pm workouts was what I looked forward to the most on weekdays, but as things started to open back up, I switched to Shane's 'On Demand' offerings for $24.99, which came around June/July. Having a library of classes was perfect because it allowed me to get back on my morning workout routine. Although it wasn't the same experience as watching it live, the workouts still kicked my butt! With gyms/fitness classes starting to open back up, I can't wait to experience an in-person class with Shane once it becomes available and safe to do so!

It was my first time doing a rowing class and Mark was so helpful and continued to help correct my form and guide me in the right direction through the class. His music is excellent! A great blend of classics and current hits, all high energy and making you want to move! The facility is clean and well maintained and if I lived in the area I would definitely join. They have a wide range of classes for every interest and skill level and a full schedule throughout the week. Towels are provided and there is a water dispenser on one of the faucets in the locker room.

Over the past year, I have gotten stronger and feel better in general. I am grateful for all CRUfit has done for me. I encourage you to come on in and join a rowing class with us.
