Purchase and installation: 3 Service after issue: 5 Please make sure to find out if you need extra hoses or equipment; they were not included in my purchase. I can see this being problematic for people who assume they come with the purchase. The installer Brian was able to use parts from my old machine but I am still missing a non-critical part that I will need to get from a hardware store. My washer/dryer had to moved though to ensure it would fit given the missing part. Went to use machine the next day and the hoses leaked like crazy. Apparently with the machines moving around, the hoses were not on tight enough and water was everywhere. I tried to tighten the hoses myself but there seemed to be water coming from under the washer too. I called the store (message left) and the mover Brian who said he would have a tech call me. Received a call from their technician Juan who immediately came over and spent over 45 minutes tightening hoses, double checking the machine and running a load of wash through most of the cycles. Bottom line: Juan could not have been better or more professional. Recommend the appliance buyer run a partial load or at least turn on again if machines are moved since things can get disconnected. This is my 2nd appliance from their store and would buy from them again despite this snafu since they immediately responded to my issue and sent Juan over to fix the issue. Great experience! We bought a refrigerator and knew there was a risk with buying something refurbished. It came with a warranty and they honored it without question when something stopped working. They tried to fix it first, and I would always give them that opportunity. When it turned out to be a component that was no longer available, they gave us a replacement. Will sell you a broken item then dodge your calls! I just purchased a home and the dishwasher is from this place. I spoke with the seller who bought the dishwasher before putting the place on the market under the impression that it worked well since it is new (manufactured 2019). The dishwasher does not work. It "runs" but does not release soap or have enough power to actually clean anything. I contacted Maytag and they said they were unable to help as the item did not qualify for their warranty. So I tried contacting Talal at Better Appliance. My calls have been dodged and now I'm being sent straight to voicemail. If I call from a different number, they answer until they hear my story again, tell me they need to call me back, then never do. I just keep getting texts saying that I will receive a call back but I never do. I would NOT recommend going here. EDIT: finally was able to get someone to send me a repair man. ***BUYERS BEWARE!*** I'm a repeat customer, but never again! My second purchase from Hammad Tanveer at their Alexandria store just over a year ago included a Whirlpool Washer, Dryer, and Refrigerator.  The refrigerator and washer were advertised as NEW and DAMAGE FREE. The Dryer was sold to us as a scratch and dent.   The refrigerator was delivered with numerous small dents throughout.  The delivery person added several more dents while transporting it into the house.   When I called Hammad about the problem, he didn't offer any compensation saying, "I'm selling it to you as cheap as I can, so you can send it back if you want".   It was a decent price to start with so I decided to keep it and just live with the dents.  That was my first mistake.  The Dryer looked to have a huge dent that had been pushed/banged out located on the left side near the rear.  That side of the dryer was against a wall so I didn't really care at the time.  This was my second mistake.   The Washer looked to be in excellent condition. 6 months after delivery, the refrigerator started knocking sporadically and making horrible noises like someone was tapping on the backside with a ball-peen hammer.   I called Whirlpool direct because I had registered all three units at the time of purchase as they were sold as New despite the dryer and refrigerator having cosmetic damage.  Whirlpool sent a tech out to inspect the fridge, but as luck would have it, it wouldn't make any noises while the tech was at the house.  Then 3 months out of warranty, the ice maker stopped working and the fridge wouldn't cool below 48 degrees along with constant beeping on the main panel like a door was left open.   Called whirlpool again and was able to convince them to service it under warranty despite being 2 months out of warranty.   Props to Whirlpool... But here is the issue that really irritates me. The scratch /dent dryer started making horrible squeaking sounds while drying just 8 months after purchase.  I opened it up and noticed that it was the dryer drum rollers that were making noise.  I removed them and noticed that the mounting pins had some wear grooves which I sanded smooth and then applied some synthetic appliance grease on the roller pins and reassembled the dryer.   PERFECT!   So I thought... 2 months later the squeaking reappeared.  Opened the dryer back up and noticed that the reason that the rollers were wearing a groove into the mounting pins is that apparently when the dryer was originally damaged, causing the huge dent, it also bent the bulkhead in the back of the dryer where the 2 roller mounting pins are mounted as well as the dryer motor. I was able to remove the bulkhead and straighten it out to the point that the roller pins align correctly now with the dryer drum.   But the issue is that I need 2 new drum rollers and mounting pins because they have been worn so badly from the misalignment that they do not support the dryer drum correctly any longer. I called Hammad about the issue 4 months ago and explained in detail what I've been dealing with, and he PROMISED me that he would send me 2 new rollers and pins, which he hasn't!   I've called him NUMEROUS times only to be told that he would do it, but again, NOTHING!  The last 2 times I've called his cell number, he has handed off the phone to a work colleague that listens to my complaint and assures me that he will pass the message to Hammad. I have yet to hear from Hammad. ***BUYERS BEWARE!*** DO NOT BUY ANYTHING SIGHT UNSEEN AND DO NOT TRUST ANYTHING THAT HAMMAD TELLS YOU! read more

We purchased a dryer and had it delivered to our townhouse in Woodbridge, the unit kept shutting itself off, the Tec determined it was the sensor, I was able to use the dryer on a timed dry mode, and since they were unable to get a new sensor, I went back in and picked out a new dryer (delivered same day) and my washer decided to stop working (I have the worst luck lol) so I picked up a matching set, so far so good! Very affordable options, this being my second purchase in three years I can say without a doubt they stand by their items, if they can't fix, they replace and make it right! My first purchase was shortly after moving onto fort Belvoir, I had purchased a washer and dryer, the washer stopped working after a few days, they replaced it immediately, during a snow storm (and I am still very grateful for that!) There are several semi-independent companies called "Better Appliances" -- this one called "Better Appliance" located in Alexandria and others in Woodbridge and Manassas and I think a couple other places. THIS one (Alexandria, run by Yousef Talal) has treated me right to my recollection, but I'm now confused. The Woodbridge "Better ApplianceS" (note the plural) sold me a used SBS fridge and the freezer stopped working in less than three weeks. My suggestion would be to buy used appliances from this Alexandria store but be cautious about the Woodbridge "Better ApplianceS" and I'm too far from Manassas to have any experience. read more

Made an appointment with this company on Dec 29th for the soonest available day which was Jan 17th. I was told to call after 9:00 a.m. on that day to see what time someone would be coming out. Well, I called about 4x before Lori answered. She said she did not see me on the schedule. Watch out! Hit or Miss! This may be the worst appliance purchase you will ever make. Read the reviews very carefully. They sell items that are under factory warranty. If anything goes wrong you have to contact the manufacturer even when the problem exists in the installation as the owner stated. I saved a ton of money, and time, and was able to have appliances that had features that I could not have afforded if I bought the appliances new. DON'T DO IT!!!!!!!!.........Bought a washer and dryer set from these jokers. It was delivered a week later dirty and smelled of mildew. I cleaned them off and started the washer only to find that two of the legs were bent and couldn't be leveled so the washer sounded like it was about to lift off soon as it hit spin cycle After my house was done shaking I then put the clothes in the dryer only to find that the dryer wasn't heating. I called up the Applicance Shop and told them of the problem, They hung up on us, tried again and ignored our calls. The 60 day warranty is fake. I ordered some parts off of amazon and fixed the broken heating coil in the dryer. The dryer and washer ran for about 2 weeks before the motor for drum failed. The delivery time was alright but after getting there they told us "we don't install in this building." They knew where they were delivering because obviously had the address but did not install the gas unit. On top of that the plug was broken and wire was shredded. We immediately sent the pictures over to them to let them know of the issues. We had to get the unit installed by our independent contractors and replace the plug and wire out of pocket. We asked for a refund of installation price and credit of cost to repair the plug and wire. They initially agreed but are now not returning our multiple calls/messages. We have not received a refund. If I could give it zero stars I would. STAY AWAY. They tried to sell me something with obvious mold stains and smell. Telling me that "it's new". Since that salesman was pushy, I asked to only work with one salesperson. Though he was nice and most of my interactions with the other employees are cordial, I still don't reccomend this company. My main complaint is that I paid for installation, and they delivered aabut never installed my dryer. When the delivery person came, I was told that I was missing a piece, that I needed to go to home depot, and that he couldn't finish the install. I specifically asked, when I was shopping, if there was anything else I needed to buy for installation. I was informed no. In fact, they directed me to buy a double sided tape, which I did, and nothing else. The next day I went to Home Depot, and purchased the pieces that the installer directed me too. I then had difficulty installing it and remembered that I ALREADY PAID for instillation. I then called the original location, Maryland, and told them of my case. Employee then yelled at me. He then said that he specifically remembers telling me that I need to buy an extra piece. I told him no he did not. When he insisted, I told him I know that he did not tell me this since I specifically remember asking to no longer want to work with him because he made me uncomfortable and try to sell me a dirty washer. Once I rremindedhim who I was, he changed his tone. I then asked to speak to a manager and was told to contact the Virginia store because the manager works out of there. I called the Virginia location, and was told that the contractor will come back out to install the dryer the next day. I actually waited at home and no one came. I called them back the following morning and they where accommodating and said that somebody be will be out in two days. Waited at home again. No one came. I then call the store VA store again, attempting to speak to a manager, and was told that the contractor was delivering in Virginia, but he will be able to come to my home the next day. At 7pm the next night, I called the contractor directly. asking him what time he planned on coming. He then told me that no one told him that he needed to come out and finish the installation. I then call the store and they said that they will send him to my home in two days. Here we are again. He did not come last night . I have now waited for this person to come four times. That is four nights where I am waiting on something I paid for . Today, I called the Virginia location again and they said that they would call me back. I did not get a call back. After two hours, I called them to follow up and they did not answer. I since called them twice more, and it looks like they are screening their calls, because I have yet to receive an answer. I called the Maryland location twice and that phone also was not answered. I sent a text message, according to their Craigslist ad, and their response is that they will get back to me. Since this is unprofessional, and unethical, I feel like they stole my money. I wanted to write this review to warn you guys. Do. Not. Shop. Here. The prices are unbeatable. I can't believe I bought a stainless steel fridge for $350. If you are landlord, this place is perfect for you. I bought a fridge, dishwasher, and range all for only $1000 including delivery! They also do repairs as well. If you are a frequent buyer, they are extra friendly and wi give you better deals. The only downside is that you need to inspect the pieces thoroughly before you buy and after it has been delivered. I bought a few fridges and dishwashers and they were fine, but the ranges I bought had some issues. Either the door doesn't shut completely, or some parts were screwed in correctly.
