My house was going on the market, but there was a gas leak in the fireplace, and I urgently needed…read morea part to repair it. Contacted many places and no one had it in stock, but Acme promised to order it. Didn't know how long it would take, but they would request it from the manufacturer and let me know when it came in if I paid in advance. Asked if it could be expedited, but they said no, it will get here when it gets here. So I prepaid in full and waited impatiently. They accidentally put two charges on my card, the right one, and an extra one that was clearly in error, so I called again to complain, and they managed to reverse the second charge, after several calls and a few days. About a week after the order, when there was no part and no update on delivery time, I found an online site that promised to send it to me, and I ordered it from them (pellethead.com). They sent me the part for less than half the price I had already paid, and got it to me in 2 days. Hated paying for it again, but I needed it right away. The repair was promptly completed, and Acme still didn't have the part. They wouldn't cancel the order. Eventually I was told that the part came in, but by then I was out of town and couldn't pick it up, and didn't need it anyway. Probably could have made a trip to the area to pick up the part, but that would cost far more than it was worth. I don't know what happened to the part, but I never got the part or a refund.

When a horrible burning smell ensued, he shrugged and said it would go away in a few days. Was pretty cavalier about possible carbon monoxide leakage. But really it was the price that upset me the most. $350 to reset a fireplace? That's just greedy. I won't be using them again--even for overpriced DC its highway robbery.

This place is the equivalent to a scammy used cars garage . What a terrible experience this has…read morebeen with Vacuum Center. Red flags were written all over the place but we are just realizing them. So red flag no 1. We purchased an 125 Year Anniversary edition C3 Miele vacuum that were were very excited about. The owner was selling it for 699.99. Without realizing it , he was selling it for $50.00 more dollars from the MRSP of 649.99 on Mieles site (no sale keep in mind) However, after some negotiating, we were able to bring down the price by 25 bucks. We didn't realize this until we got home but I didn't mind, we payed a little more than 25 more from the MRSP and this was a local business so whatever. Unfortunately with this unit ; it was turning off at random times after 3 weeks of purchase. We checked the hose , filters etc etc. Nada . We didn't think a warranty swap was okay after such a short time with the machine. Technology fails which is understandable. So we called Vacuum Center right away and they said we could upgrade or outweigh other options. We decided to upgrade to the top of the tier (almost 1k more, a C3 Brilliant) since it was "on sale" for $100.00 less of the MRSP. Advertised as new and everything. We were able to get the price down to $150 less. What a great deal , right ? Well, when I see the box taken from the back , it looked a little off and used but I'm not going to question anyone (I should have). As you can see in these pictures , this is what I opened up after hauling an Uber to get this machine replaced. A machine with dog hair, ketchup stains and a damaged box. I immediately called them to inform them and the dude working the cashier acted brand new. HE KNEW this was a used item. At this point , I've had enough and just wanted all my money back and do business elsewhere where. They offered options but by the time I spent over 50 bucks in transportation and feeling weird about the whole transaction, I wanted nothing to do with them. Here's the KICKER. They charged me a 20% restocking fee for the original vacuum. I get there are policies in place but you just made me go though hell to be given a defective item and the second time around , a USED item. I had to Uber back with this used vacuum to get it returned . I asked if they had another Brilliant and they of course didn't. They said they can ship one out but no thanks. Don't try to put lipstick on a pig. Why would I want to do do business with them ? Oh and the high end Miele Brilliant is 100 less because it's freaking used!!!! Terrible experience and I suggest you look elsewhere. They are all smiles until you start unmasking some pretty disgusting business practices

She was upfront about cost, and if I asked her opinion on something, she told me the truth! I really missed her when we weren't meeting with her every week. After her we got to work with Steve Endress the contractor. He also was amazing. So easy to deal with and always available for a question or concern. His crew is top notch and the work they do is incredible. We did a big renovation that included knocking a wall down, putting in new floors and re-doing a powder room.

This company has been a continual disappointment…read more We started the kitchen remodel process with a budget of $50,000 in January 2021. The design team was fantastic, and got us what we wanted within budget. That's where the good part ended. We waited 12 weeks for cabinets to arrive, and had been told prior to contract signing that the project with full demo, gut, new cabinets, countertops, and backsplash would finish in 5 weeks. We were told that the company was careful and would not demo the kitchen until all supplies were available. After 1 week of demo, we were told that the wrong sink base was sent, and we were on hold until the cabinet manufacturer sent a new sink base. That led to a 6 week hold on our project, with no kitchen for our family. Install was a nightmare. The team cut the crown molding upside down, built a new soffet that was visually out of true, had to re-tile the backsplash for it being initially installed crooked, cut the sink front with cut lines past 90 degrees, and could not install the Le Mans cabinet pullout correctly without me showing them the installation .pdf on the manufacturer website. The installer told us it would rub, and that was the "best he could do". They drug the upper cabinets across a dirty floor covered in drywall plaster and scratched the cabinet bottoms, which we had paid extra to be painted. Nicely Done had to call out a furniture restoration company and replace several cabinets which were beyond repair. Overall the five week project took 11+ weeks to complete. I'm writing this review because we called them back to fix the grout line between the countertop and backsplash, which cracked after 4 months. The same install team showed up and did a poor job of cleaning the old grout, and began using clear silicone instead of the color matched silicone. I'd rather go to Home Depot myself and do the job correctly than deal with them again. I'm done with the laziness of the project managers and install team. I asked point blank at the final walkthrough if we didn't pay enough money to get a better quality product. For $50K, this company leaves a lot to be desired. There's continually a polite excuse, but at the end of the day, they are happy to take your money and do a poor job. Look elsewhere for your remodel needs.

8/24/22 *UPDATE* I…read morehad a good conversation with Danielle and we've reached an agreement. She has admitted there were some big learning and growth moments with what has transpired with our case, and as a result, has apologized. In addition, they admitted they didn't order the correct part and should have spent more time ensuring their initial mistake wasn't repeated. It's a rare occasion to have a company admit they repeated a mistake and are willing to work towards an agreeable resolution. Thankfully ABW has shown they are concerned with what happens to their customers, you just have to let them kindly know if they are heading down the wrong path. To sum it up, they are willing to work with you to make sure you're happy, just make sure you have an open communication line with them. _______________________ *ORIGINAL REVIEW* I'm not sure where to begin, but it's been an absolute nightmare. Our microwave broke in April, we are a week away from September, and the microwave is still not fixed despite them coming out 4 separate times. In short, ABW has been to our house 4 times; 3 times with the wrong part. Yes, they ordered the wrong microwave door 3 times. They came to our house 3 times with the wrong door. I really don't know what else to say or how best to describe what happened other than pure incompetence. I don't think I've ever had to deal with a situation like this before, since most companies would find a solution after their first mistake, but clearly they care only about your money and how much they can grab from you. After a lot of back-and-forth via email, it was discovered that they had been entering the wrong model number from the beginning, but we were told that it was Bosch who kept sending the wrong part. So they blamed Bosch and failed miserably at taking ownership of the mistake they made over, over and over again. In the photos below you'll see one of the final emails where they're "apologizing" and giving us a "discount". However, after researching the right parts number, the $374.49 "discount" from their original asking price of $627.59 is roughly the average and going price for said door. At face value, it's clear we're still being ripped off despite their egregious and continuous mistake of ordering the wrong part not only once, not twice, but three times. Could you imagine ordering the wrong part for a customer, telling them it's on back order, and making three service calls over the course of 5 months? I can't. I'd be fired. I'm truly at a loss for words. I'm sorry to say, but for your sanity please find another business to order parts, equipment or have any type of service done. Please learn from my horrible experience and find another business to buy and service your appliances.
