You really only know how good a person or company is when something doesn't go as planned. This is one of those times. Tommy showed up after sending apologies for being late (traffic). Didn't have to, he wasn't late. They said he'd be there 8-10a. Said "GPS says I'll be there for 8:17a". Good start in my book. Tom toured the 2 floor home. It has brand new oil furnace, forced air in an "octopus" vent system, so we expected to be paying their high range of $500ish. That's half what others have quoted us though. We opted for sanitizer as well (with Moms allergies we decided to since it was being done). That was $200-250. Has a nice lemony scent for a little while, minor. Lasts less than an hour. Tom finished his work 1-2p and while he did turn on furnace to see if debris came out anywhere, nothing of note did at that time. It happened later on that soot and debris came out of all the vents. We contacted Tommy and here's why he gets the five stars he deserves. He immediately apologized profusely. He said while he's not sure why it was doing that now and didn't before, he will come right back out as soon as possible. He couldn't return until Saturday, he was on jobs when we told him (the day after, so one day was in between). And return he did. He texted his arrival time and apologized again when he showed up. He's genuine in demeanor, I don't get that vibe that he knew something was off. He was sincerely sorry and felt bad the job wasn't satisfied, worse felt bad my Mom's allergies were triggered. He spent several more hours this morning cleaning up anything he saw, and of course troubleshot where he thought the catches of debris may have happened. Very "extra" thorough, as best he could. Tommy stood by his work. His very words were he warranties his work, an actual warranty or moral one I don't think that mattered to him. He and I agree, the home's octopus vents and setup possibly made this job more difficult than a usual one. To me, it's how you handle those ones that go haywire that highlight what kind of a person and company you are. These guys passed with flying colors. read more

Kenneth Roberts is quite possibly the best Air Duct Cleaning Professional, period. Before he arrived at our house, I expected a fairly standard vacuuming of all of the air vents. But, Ken went way beyond that. He opened up the ducts from the central air unit, and attached what looked like the Death Star of all vacuum machines (I mean that in a very good way) to them, and proceeded to use additional vacuums and compressed air to suck, blow, blow, suck, and thoroughly, and I mean thoroughly, cleanse all known air vents. The cleansing was so thorough that we found several pieces of debris that were probably left there from the work crew at the time the home was built, including several nails, pieces of wood, and even an electrical bracket (why are/were any of those things in air vents? Were the people who built the house just plain lazy? Well, I guess we'll never know, but those things (and a ton of dust!) was in there). Anyway, Ken got it all out. Amazing! He also showed me through cell phone pictures (he would take before and after pictures of the vents on his cell phone) of the vents, before and after, and all I can say is Whoa! What a difference! Vents that were previously blowing just a little started blowing much harder after the cleaning. I don't think there's anyone better than Kenneth in the whole Air Duct Cleaning space, period. Better Air is excellent and we recommend them highly. I called their office and spoke to the manager, Steve. He was patient and helpful and explained the process completely. We purchased standard duct cleaning plus the APCO air detox system (which uses UV to kill mold). Our technician, Stanley, arrived on schedule and was extremely professional, helpful and personable. First, he gave us a complete overview of the process, then he put on a pair of sterile shoe booties and began working. He invited us to follow along and explained each step as he was doing it. He not only answered all of our questions but MADE VIDEOS of our ducts before and after the cleaning so that we could see the difference. We were very curious and he was happy to give us a demo of each cleaning tool so we could better understand what was happening. We had had our ducts cleaned before by another company, but the process was nowhere near as thorough as Better Air's. Stanley also cleaned up after himself and did a final inspection of the house to confirm that everything was accomplished according to plan. Stanley and Sam were great. They did a very thorough job in cleaning all our ducts, returns and supplies. I was absolutely amazed by and with the equipment they used and the efficiency with which they used it. In the process, they were very helpful. All my questions were cheerfully answered. Very refreshing. We had just bought our house here in Farmington, Ct., and the air conditioning was not effective. Before beginning the cleaning of ducts, Stanley arranged for a next day appointment with a plumbing air conditioning expert. First things first. As a result, duct work cleaning was rescheduled for the next day. Great job all the way around. Since the house was built 18 years ago, the ducts had never been cleaned. Jonathan was such a nice guy. He explained everything from start to finish.He sent photos to my husband's cell, so he could see the start to finish. We just purchased the house, between sanding and carpentry work, we created a lot of dust. From the photos, it looked like the previous owners never had the ducts cleaned. We purchased the complete cleaning package and now I do not smell mold coming from the vent. Homeowners, this is a must if you want to breathe clean air in your home. Well worth the money spent. Great experience with stanley. Went over the whole system before and after. He did a great job. You couldn't ask for a better person. The reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the gentleman that I spoke with to set up the appointment said he was running a special at $399.00 and that would be better then $20.00 a return and vent. Not thinking of it at the time I have 19 total and it would have been $20.00 cheaper. The other thing I was disappointed about was these places give you a price on the duct work but not the blower and coils. That is another $400.00 and in my opinion what is the point of cleaning the ducts if your not going to clean where the air is coming from. So if you hire this company plan on more money to do it right or if you know how your system works ask for a total price. read more

His expertise was evident from the moment he stepped in the door, and his pleasant and calming demeanor and humor helped me relax in what has been a very stressful time. UNRELIABLE, over 5 HOURS LATE, and RUDE. The service worker (Tyrone) was so rude I asked him to leave and not finish the job due to his sarcastic and rude comments such as "Calm down" and "Do YOU do this for a living??"
