I do make use of the grooming services, and they are top notch at this. Kathryn is my groomer, and I try to not go to anyone else. Very important to note, you must have a relationship with a Vet professional that dispenses vaccinations for your pet. Best Friends are anal about this matter. So, make sure you're up to date on that part of your pet's health. Usually the vet will print out the vaccination status for them. Then you just bring it with you, and they will update their records on their end. Easy peasy. They have so many things that they do, and I only use a small tidbit of their services. But I'm satisfied enough to recommend them to you. My dog, Abby, loves Kathryn, so I'm sold on Best Friends.

She was very nice, a "good listener", and repediatly told me that she was horrified by what I was reporting to her. At the end of our conversation she told me that she would "take my input into consideration". After it came to light that my dogs were straight up neglected while in their care, I was a bit shocked that she didn't up front offer a refund for the entire boarding stay. I stewed on it for several days, wrote another e-mail to their general corporate e-mail, and without anyone ever contacting me, they refunded my credit card and took me off of all of their mailing lists!!!! The people who run this kennel are horrible, and it is a terribly run business. I made the mistake of giving her a heads up that I was going to call animal control and report them to the state, so I'm sure they temporarily cleaned the place up so they wouldn't be caught off guard. IF YOU LOVE YOUR PETS, DO NOT BOARD HERE!!!

We always enjoy seeing the photos while away. We can see how happy they are. It is also nice how they check on our house too and bring in packages. I would like to give them a special shout out for the care that they gave our pets while we were away during a recent large snowstorm. We were concerned that they wouldn't be able to make it to our house because of the severity of the storm. they kept in touch and made sure that there was enough food and water for our fur babies in case they wee unable to make it back at the scheduled time. We didn't want them to endanger themselves and knew that they would be fine if they couldn't make it back. All went well and they reported back to us the next morning when the roads were cleared and they could make it back. They dug out a spot on the deck for our dog to get out and go the the bathroom and all was well. This is a great company and they truly love the pets that they are taiga care of.

After a half-day behavioral assessment, our dog was accepted and spent the rest of the day in their facility. While we (and our dog, presumably) appreciated the outdoor space and general separation of bigger dogs and smaller dogs, there were aspects of this environment that were not optimal for our dog, like minimal supervision and a bit of a free for all during the day. Someone takes photos and posts them on Facebook everyday, which is nice. While BL had its conveniences, it doesn't seem as good for a dog that might need more attention and care. Maybe it's better for dogs with a little more independence.

My husband and I recently moved to New Haven and needed a pet sitter for our little menagerie (five cats and a dog!) when we travel. To complicate matters even more, one of our cats is 19 y/o and on four different medications. Four Legged Care has been completely awesome! They have affordable pricing and are extremely communicative. Colleen has been our sitter and is very sweet and thorough. She follows the instructions we leave for our pets and sends us tons of adorable videos and photos. She goes above and beyond every time. Most recently, our flight was canceled coming home from a trip and within minutes of notifying Colleen, she figured out a way to accommodate our last minute, extra day request. We didn't want to take him out of his way, so we said just point us in the right direction. We are two older ladies, and he insisted on leading us out saying that he didn't want to be worrying about whether we made it out safely or not. Even when we saw landmarks that we remembered were close to where I parked, he woudn't leave us until I actually spotted my car. Julie Ann comes every day to walk my dog every day for 30 minutes. They use an application where they show you the route of every walk, if the dog peed or pooped, and if fresh water was given with a short summary of what happened during the visit. Julie Ann even alerts me to things like when the sun room in the back of my house was getting too hot for my cat (and things of that nature) when she comes to walk my dog. I can tell she treats my pets as if they were her own. And I really appreciate that, and that's hard to find. I leave everyday for work feeling good that I know my fur babies will be under good care.
