I placed an in-store pickup order on 2/13 for three items- two threads & needles. I called on 2/18, requesting them to ship instead. They explained one thread (Fyre Werks) was out of stock & on order, which I understood, but assured me the second thread (Neon Rays) and needles were in stock & would be shipped promptly. On 3/11, after three weeks with no package, I called them again; Ally assured me it would be shipped immediately. I paid for shipping at their request. By 3/26, still no package, so I called once more, & they again promised to ship right away. On 4/4, EIGHT weeks later, my account still showed the order as unshipped & set for pickup. I called again & spoke to Ally, who now told me they don't have either thread instock- both are on order & unobtainable. The issue is that they told me multiple times they had the neon rays & would ship it. I asked Ally if I had come in to pick up the order around 2/13 when originally placed, would they just not have had it? She said "yes, I'm realizing that now." As a disabled person who doesn't drive, getting across town isn't easy & I also don't have time to repeatedly call & hound a needlepoint store. When I pointed out they strung me along for eight weeks with false information, Ally was defensive rather than apologetic or accountable, & said any other shop would be the same. However, I have not had this experience at any other shop. I understand the needlepoint boom has depleted inventory, the issue is they continually said they had it & now say they never did. I requested a refund, which they agreed to I know needlepoint isn't a major issue in the grand scheme of things, but this situation reflects poor inventory management & more importantly, poor customer service. A sincere "I'm so sorry" could have made a significant difference & probably avoided this review. Unfortunately, I won't be returning, but I'm grateful there are many other LNS shops in Arizona. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! The people here are incredibly rude. Drove over an hour here just to be told "you're not supposed to be here there's a private event" and kicked me out, not letting me buy anything. I told them the situation and they did not care. It CURRENTLY still says they're opened. The workers here were already rude to me the first time, but decided to try a second time This is not how you run a business. They removed my last negative review the best I can tell. Just read all the one stars. They contain all my thoughts. It has become a one transaction business. They only care on short term easy money. Do not prepay for anything . Do not buy a kit with back ordered fibers. You will likely never see fiber(s) . If you have a problem in an expensive canvas and class you have purchased from them, then need help with a stitch, it will not be forth coming. Service as pointed out many times before is horrible. Lisa is a talented stitcher. She has written a great book on embellishment that is worth the money. read more

Stopped by while visiting from out of town. Thought I'd love to see the local shops. I figured I'd pick up a local canvas exclusive. However, the selection for this was lacking. There was plenty for holidays and some random items. The canvases seemed more directed towards an older needlepoint crowd with complex finishing wanted. If I could give zero stars, I would. Earlier this year, I entrusted BeStitched Needlepoint and its owner Lisa with over 25 hand stitched canvases to be finished into ornaments, a pillow, and a full nativity set, all heirloom pieces. What I received in return was appalling. I initially received a number of the pieces back, but the finishing was sloppy and unacceptable. I had to bring them all back to BeStitched for correction. After two months with no updates, I had to reach out to Lisa myself. Communication was sparse and filled with stall tactics, until I was forced to initiate a chargeback through my credit card. Only then did Lisa finally ship my items back. What arrived was deeply disappointing. Most of the pieces I flagged for correction had been left untouched. Everything reeked of perfume or artificial scent, like it had been stored in someone's closet or laundry room, not a professional finishing workspace. This isn't about preference; it's about basic respect for the work, time, and investment that clients put into their stitching. Worse than the poor quality was the utter lack of professionalism. Lisa repeatedly made promises, missed deadlines, and offered no communication unless I initiated it. And when I did, responses were vague, dismissive, or nonexistent. I had to chase her down at every turn. This wasn't a one time misstep. It was a sustained pattern of mismanagement, poor quality control, and zero accountability. I showed far more patience and professionalism than this situation ever warranted. Lisa showed none. If you value your stitching, your time, your effort, your investment, do not send it to BeStitched. Please read the reviews from other clients during this same time period. Staff was helpful and selection of canvases and fibers was great. Several stitchers were in the shop getting help with canvases from a person who I think was the owner. Love to see it! I docked a star because almost nothing in the store is priced, so you have no idea what you're getting yourself into with most items until you get to the register. This was not just trunk show canvases, which I know are not always priced, it was nearly everything in the store. I have stitched enough to know a ballpark price on many things, but this was a turnoff for me and would be a dealbreaker if I were a beginner walking in my first needlepoint store. read more

They had a huge selection of canvases, but what I was most excited about was having conversations and them inviting me to participate in classes via zoom. I have been ordering canvases and threads from Bestitched for years. I am an avid stitcher, and since the pandemic, I discovered Lisa Kessler's awesome online classes! They are fun and informative and I have lovely new friends from the class. We were recently invited to spend a few days with Lisa at her store and jumped at the chance! I traveled six hours to spend 2 1/2 days learning with Lisa and my new classmates. It was magical! Bestitched has a larger thread collection than I have ever seen and choosing threads for canvases from my stash was heavenly! The ladies were helpful and, of course, learning new stitches from Lisa was a delight! This needlepoint shop way oversold me the thread for a large rug I bought from them. I had 156 silk Skeins of 30 yards each left of Planet Earth silk when I finished my large rug which I had purchased a year and a half ago from Betstitched. They have a policy of "no returns", but, because they sold me so much extra thread, I felt they should allow me to return some of the thread. The cost of this thread which is left is over $1,000 at today's prices, slightly less when i purchased it. Do not shop at this shop. There are many shops all over the country where you can purchase anything this shop may carry. They are dishonest, mean spirited, and have not answered my emails. They are rude over the phone and disrespectful of me. I am 83 and have never ever had an experience like this one over the internet, and certainly not in a needlepoint shop. I am so very disappointed with the owner and ladies at BeStitched Needlepoint. The first time I went in the store, I bought almost 500.00 dollars of canvases and threads. I live in both AZ and CA, so when I was short threads that were suppose to be in a custom kit, I tried and tried to reach them for help. They DO NOT respond to texts, voicemail or even when I would get a person on the phone and left a message for the owner--she never returned my call. The hassle is not worth buying anything at this store!! I have just begun to capture my past and needlepoint with my crewel stitching. I do not live in Arizona but spend the winter there and love this store. The canvases are super and the selection of threads so sophisticated. I have always found the gals to helpful when I call and need more threads or new threads to match my project. I would not take a class at this shop. I have been waiting for threads and the Stitch guide to finish my piece for 4 months and this was after 5 calls and two emails. Very poor customer service. At least be courteous enough to respond. If you are going to teach a class finish the piece before the class and have all of the threads available. I have taken many classes and have never had this problem, this is lack of organization and again very poor customer service. read more

Beware of this shop! i bought a rug from these people, and was given 180 EXTRA skeins of Planet Earth Silk which is very expensive. The shop refused to take any of this thread back. This shop takes advantage of its customers. My advice is to avoid this place and go to a shop where the people are honest and will help you if you need to return thread. I am an avid needle pointer and prolific purchaser of new canvasses. I've been in needlepoint stores all over the country. Today was my 2nd visit to BeStitched within the last 3 months as I am in Phoenix again this week. I will not return. I find the staff unwelcoming and unfriendly. I can always find at least one canvas to buy but found nothing again. They don't carry traditional canvasses but rather all whimsical designs. Disappointing all around. read more

Although Lisa is currently looking for a new space, she is working from home right now, and her website is GREAT! I have found Lisa (Kessler, the owner) to be so helpful and responsive...She even goes so far as to reply to my texts almost instantly - if I have a question or a problem. I love that. Online,for a reasonable fee, you can sign up to see and play her video tutorials as much and as often as you like. There seems to be a tutorial about more facets and techniques of needlepoint than I know about. But she is clear, concise and exacting in her videos, giving the viewer step-by-step instructions in whatever she is teaching. I know she also does group and private lessons, which are great. No question is silly, and LISA is generous and patient with everyone. I feel as if I made a friend, as well as having found another great needlepoint resource. read more

Never received my order even though my card was charged. Absolutely zero response even after 5 requests for the status of my order. I wound up having to dispute the charge with my bank in order to resolve it. Will never purchase from this shop again. Very poor customer service. read more

This is one of my favorite needlepoint stores and I live in Maryland. They have an excellent selection of canvases and fibers and seem to be always having a trunk show. The sales people know their stuff and can make excellent suggestions to make your project exceptional. They must have gone out of business right around the time they took my order, Website still up and running but I advise not placing any orders with them. Gave them one star because I had to put something Ok a few hours after posting the above review, I received two emails that the canvas was unavailable and they were refunding my money. I have travelled across the country to a variety of needlepoint stores and this is one of the best. The owner remembers me every time, their selection of canvases changes regularly (and features a pretty regular cadence of trunk shows) and their knowledge/insight in pulling threads in unbeatable. I credit BeStitched for getting me back into needlepoint after a hiatus and inspiring me to push myself to add a wide variety of stitches to my canvases. Like other reviewers, I have ordered extra thread through BeStitched and have received it much more reliably than when ordering through other stores. I have not ordered finishing through them so I can't comment there. read more

I have been shopping at this store since moving to Scottsdale may years ago. I have watched the shop move a few times as well. This is probably best because the customer service offered at Bestiched is less than desired. I have bought many canvases here as well as all of my finishing. There have been times that it took months to return to me, and then still done incorrectly (colors we had no discussed, etc). I was asked to repay for it (when it was done improperly).. a very loyal customer, I continued to return hoping for better service. I have since gone to Quail Run Needlepoint. They have done a very good job my finishing and appreciate my business. There are too many places to buy needlepoint... I will never need to return to Bestiched again. read more

My interactions with BeStitched have been through their online store. They are by far the best I've dealt with especially with regard to their customer service. I can't believe how quickly they turned around my order (canvas and threads) and got it in the mail! They even called me to clarify my preferred thread selection. I also appreciated Lisa's emails thanking me for my business. I have ordered a lot of canvasses from online shops over the years, and this has been the easiest and quickest response I've had.
