This hotel has BEDBUGS, and it seems to be rampant. As our 2-year-old was laying in bed, BED BUSG started coming out of the pillow. The family was there less than four hours and got bit by Bedbugs. Our family decided to stay at the Westgate Inn located on 1415 Kenneth Road York, PA for two nights. We booked a total of 3 rooms. The place looks nice enough, plus it's supposed to have a pool swimming! Well, that location does not have a swimming pool for the children to play in. Which, by the way, was one of the reasons we chose it over other hotels. But now that's the least of our problem. There was no manager on the premises to resolve the issue. The hotel did refund us our money, but at 11 PM we had to find a place to hunt down a place to stay.

This by far is the WORST HOTEL I'VE EVER STAYED IN. Right from the gate, there was a good-sized cockroach on the exterior wall AND the key-readers don't work!! Once I got in, thr room wreaked of smoke and was beat up. I hear the climate control system, and it was loud! The elevators are not only break down ALL THE TIME, they were also very rough-riding... Just sleep in your car instead of booking this dump...

I stayed at the York Pa hotel 2-18-2022. One of the worst nights of travel in my life. This hotel is a total dump. As soon as I stepped onto the elevator I could tell it was rundown missing screws. Dirty floors. Chipped paint. But I go to my room. #205. Holy crap Every drain in there is slow. Broken shower rod. Someone puked on the carpet in 3 very large places. Mold on the walls. Paint bubbling due to water leaks. Broken tile. Dirty stains on the fresh bath towels. AND TO TOP IT OFF at 4:15 AM today I was woke up by a totally naked man beating my door. I look thru the peep hole and he is 100%naked. I had to call the desk for help. They unlocked a room and he went in. Unbelievable. I took 12 pictures and I plan on using them in every review I can find. Never ever ever will I stay at a best western again. You'd think they would offer something off for the naked guy issue alone. But no. Nothing. I'm not the type to stir up trouble with the staff. They have no control over the filth this place has. But management does. I paid way too much to stay here. Almost $200 on Expedia. Next time I will sleep in my car before ever going in a place like this. The online photos should be illegal. There is nothing nice about this hell hole. The grey hallways and black trim an horrible harsh lights make it look exactly like a jail cell. I have pictures of the mold on the wall and puke on the carpet. Plus a lot more.

Stayed here for a few nights to get away. First room we were given reeked of smoke and smoke detector covered so it wouldn't go off. We lifted the mattress to check for bed bugs and found a knife. Went down and the women at the front desk was just as surprised and quickly changed our room. Second room was nice and clean but during the night coming back there was visible roaches climbing the walls in the hall. I do not believe proper cleaning and sanitation is occurring at this sight otherwise the first room would not have had heavy smoke smell and covered smoke detector and large knife. I would not recommend coming here especially during this pandemic if your concerned about your health

WORST HOTEL EVER!!! The toilet doesn't work- changed room, the shower doesn't drain!, and they have the audacity to charge me the same price for the stupid room. There was hair on the shower was not mine. Better business bureau will def be hearing about this. Doesnt even deserve 1 star.

We wanted a night away from our kids and booked the jacuzzi suite. Lobby was nice and check-in was super easy and fast. We got to our room, keys wouldn't work so went back downstairs to get help. First impression of our room was unfortunately cigarette smoke I assume from a previous guest. Otherwise we had a great experience. Jacuzzi was perfect for two. The room was huge. Bed was firm but I liked it. Pillows were awesome. Comforter was super thin. I kept waking up because of it and considered asking for another one in the middle of the night. The A/C / heat unit kept a perfect temperature (we only used the heat, it's December.) The breakfast in the morning was decent.

Bed bug

#1 BEDBUGS #2 False advertising I booked the hotel because of the price compared to others in the area with an indoor pool and free breakfast. Got into town a day earlier than needed for an event specifically so my kids could use the pool. I checked in and asked what floor the pool was on, to find out it doesn't exist. When I said that was one of the amenities listed and the sole reason we were in town earlier than needed for an event, the front desk said 'oh, I'm sorry, they were supposed to take that down.' When I asked if there was a sister hotel with a pool in the area, I was told their sister hotel is across the parking lot, but we probably couldn't use their pool since we weren't guests there. We had a long drive and were tired so I figured it's best to just go to our room and get the kids to bed. I laid my son in the bed and went about settling in. Several minutes later I went to fix his blanket and such when out walks a bug. I caught it in a cup, called the front desk and was told they could switch my room. I opted to wait for the manager to arrive in the next 15 min to speak with him. The front desk staff came to my room to ask for the captured bug. I had taken pictures of it, so then researched it and realized it was a bedbug, called the front desk to say so and that we were leaving the hotel, needed to be refunded and should be comped at another hotel. Turned out there was misinformation and the manager was not working that night after all, so I spoke with him on the phone and he was confident that it was just one bed bug contained to my one hotel room. When I explained how easily they can spread and asked if he was willing to come sleep in the room instead, I was told he's been in the business a long time and knows how bedbugs work. Obviously not. There's a reason NYC bed bug laws require all surrounding apartments to also be treated. But have no fear, the best western manager is an expert. So I took the liberty of informing the guests i ran into on my way out that they should double check their beds/room to be sure they were in the clear. Ended up getting a hotel almost double the price because it was a last minute booking. The moral of the story is don't stay here unless you want to sleep tight and let the bed bugs bite.

Rooms are well kept. The complimentary breakfast was pretty good. Nice location, off of 30 behind Ruby Tuesday, and next to Quaker Steak.

Quick and dirty one night stay earlier this month as it was right off the highway and at least on that point very convenient. Good: The bed here is very comfortable. I know the property is give or take 5 years old but the bed in our room felt very new and was honestly on par with any hotel that I have ever stayed at. Also good is that we didn't hear any noise from surrounding rooms or the area. Not Good: The whole keep the main entrance locked 24 hours a day unless you already have a key is moronic. The woman at the desk (more than likely the only person on property) was getting pulled in multiple directions from the phone ringing, check ins (like us) coming in and other people meandering down by the desk. It took a while for her to be able to open the door and there is no way that the phone you need to use to call the desk to get them to let you in is being cleaned with enough frequency so as not to be a germ spreading machine. In our brief time in the lobby (counting us) three different groups of people used the phone one right after another. It's simply not a smart idea. Random: The room was in decent shape and seemed clean (I mean you never really know and the whole Hilton Clean Stay thing is honestly just marketing shtick) although certain things stood out like the bathmat and one of towels being ripped/frayed and if someone were using the sofa bed there was no extra bedding in the room. We skipped on breakfast as we had other plans and I know from pre-pandemic Home 2 stays that it's nothing special (take Homewood Suites breakfast and dumb it way down) let alone whatever the current version is. If I were doing an extended stay I would buck up and stay at the nearby Homewood but for one night or a weekend stay this place is alright as the beds are good, it's close to the highway and there are some stores/restaurants close by. Good enough.

One star taken off because of a negative interaction with a staff member named Nikita. Nikita called our room stating that she had received 'several' noise complaints regarding my room and was very rude about it. She stated that people's children were trying to sleep (8pm on a Saturday). My children were up but were laying in bed watching tv and playing on their tablets. Nothing was happening in my room that would have warranted a noise complaint let alone "several" complaints and for Nikita to be unprofessional and rude. The only other downfall during our stay was that pool towels were not regularly restocked but the pool was lovely and clean.

I was in…read morethe process of relocating 570 miles away for a new job with just one week to pack up a two-bedroom house, two large dogs, and two cats. I chose this motel because it was one of the few that allowed pets and appeared to meet my needs. However, my experience was far from acceptable. Booking and Check-In: I reserved a room online and clearly mentioned that I had two large dogs and two cats. When I arrived at 2:30 AM after a long drive, I reiterated this information at the front desk. The staff confirmed everything was fine, took my payment, and handed over the key. So far, so good. Room Condition: Upon entering the room, I was horrified by the condition. It smelled strongly of cat urine and stale cigarette smoke. while I understood people with pets used smoking rooms the smell was overwhelming. The floor, door handles, and light switches were sticky to the touch. There were visible stains, possibly bodily fluids, splattered on the walls, light switches, and floor. The bedspread was riddled with cigarette burns, and to top it off, there were roaches. Lots of them. I had to spend the first three hours of my stay cleaning the room with supplies I bought myself because I couldn't sleep in such filth. I used the motel's towels for cleaning, which they later tried to charge me for, despite the unsanitary condition of the room being their responsibility. The sink didn't drain, the bathtub faucet dripped constantly, and only two of the six electrical outlets worked. The carpet near the door reeked of cat urine, so I even had to buy a carpet shampooer to try to make the room livable, since maintenance would only clean it on their schedule. Pet and Room Accommodations: I specifically requested a ground-floor room because one of my dogs has hip dysplasia and cannot manage stairs. They put me on the second floor instead, claiming they had an elevator. That elevator frequently malfunctioned, which was both frightening and unsafe. Additional Issues: The heating and air conditioning unit, as well as the windowsill, were covered in mildew. The ice bucket on the counter was stuck to some kind of sticky, unknown substance. The room's lights by the bed didn't work, and I chose to sleep in my own sleeping bag and use my own pillow because the bed was so dirty. Staff Treatment: To make matters worse, the staff tried to charge me an additional $40 for using their towels to clean their disgusting room. They claimed I had "destroyed" property by cleaning with their towels. They even went so far as to ask me to leave a week before my original reservation ended, claiming my use of the towels to clean what they didn't clean was unacceptable. Overall Impression: I stayed long term at a Motel 6 in Kentucky and this was, without a doubt, the worst lodging experience I have ever had. The room was not only dirty and in poor condition but also a health hazard due to the presence of roaches, mildew, and unsanitary surfaces. Several of the staff were unhelpful and unprofessional, and the property itself is in serious need of maintenance. If you are traveling with pets or need a clean and safe place to stay, I highly recommend looking elsewhere. Oh, and watch out for the hornets nests. They seem to be everywhere.

Unfortunately I didn't look at the reviews before booking which I should have. We arrived and the night staff at the front desk wasn't the nicest and seemed like he had better things to do. After we got checked in, we went up to the room and my wife took off her shoes and noticed the floor was sticky. She thought it had just been cleaned so naturally could have felt sticky but was really just a little wet. Nope. Hours later it was still sticky. After staying in the room for a bit, it was time to get ready for bed and we went to arrange the room so our son who is 1.5 years old could be in his pack and play and be blocked so he can't see us (so he falls asleep without distractions). We went to move the couch and when we did, there were crumbs from who knows when underneath. Not just little crumbs, I am talking pepperonis, full French fries, chunks of bread, etc. immediately we called down to the front desk and they offered to move us to another room so we did. At 9:30pm. This was after blatantly asking 'are you wanting a discount or new room?' Once in the new room, we moved the couch again and noticed it hadn't been cleaned. We know this because we found the remote that had been replaced already. Also more crumbs. This room wasn't that bad though so we stayed. In the morning, our son was running around and the corner piece that protects the wall corner fell off randomly and crashed to the floor, luckily missing him. We tried putting it back on but it was useless. One last thing we noticed is the water is scorching hot. Don't let your kids at any age control the water temperature of the bath/shower/sink because it is hot enough to make a grown man cry. We won't be staying in this hotel any time in the future.

I'm in hotels 100+ nights/year with most of my stays at Marriott hotels. This is one of the worst managed hotel properties I've ever been at. I had a room on 2nd floor right above the lobby with non-working Wi-Fi. There was a good signal on the meeting room network and when I asked if I could have a password, the front desk refused and told me their IT department would call in a few minutes. The call never came after being there 2 hours. I went to use the pool and hot tub and found there were no towels. Went to the front desk, where the day-shift Manager was, and she told me "they" would bring down towels immediately. After 30 minutes of waiting I gave up and went to use the hot tub. Hot tub was full of cold water so I went back to front desk. Told again towels were on the way (even thought the laundry room was across from the pool and right next door to the office) and was also told their Maintenance man was in the building and would look at the hot tub heater. Maintenance man showed up 20 minutes later and told me he wasn't actually a maintenance man, just a house man, and that there was no Maintenance man onsite. He also told me there was nothing he could do because the hot tub heater had been down all week and everyone knew about it. Finally, I went back to the Manager to let her know how disappointed I was about the level of service at the hotel, and her only response was that I shouldn't try to tell her how to do her job. I went back to my room, packed up, and checked out. There are many better hotels in York PA (look on the other side of Route 30). The quality of Marriott hotels has gone way down lately, and I don't think it's just a local issue, but It's never gotten to a point to where I had to pack up and check out the same day I arrived, until now.
