Shower fixture coming undone from wall

I don't usually give negative reviews, but this place was so bad, I feel compelled to warn others so they don't make the same mistake I made by booking it. I'm giving them 1 star because they had a TV that worked and a refrigerator that worked. Everything else about the hotel and room was bad. From the minute you walk in the lobby you smell a musty/moldy smell. That was my first clue it was bad. We arrived around 7:00pm since we were traveling far by car so unfortunately going somewhere else wasn't an option, plus no matter what we were getting charged since it was beyond the policy for cancelling (standard 24 hours in advance, which is understandable and I have no issue with that. That's the case most places). The first room they gave us (a king bed room we paid for) smelled so bad of mold and mildew we didn't even stay in it more than a minute. We went back to the desk and they switched rooms without hassle (so I'll give a 1/4 star for that). We were given only 2 options to change - a room with 2 queens or a handicap accessible room with a king. We took the king. The second room also smelled of mold, but not as bad so we kept it. There was mold all around the air conditioner (see picture). The fixture holding the shower head was loose and almost coming out of the wall (see picture). The floor was very dirty and stained (see pictures). Lamp shades were torn (see pictures). The room advertises a hair dryer - it didn't work. It also advertises an am/fm alarm clock. It had no power cord and no batteries in it. There were signs saying "Vending" in the hallway, but not one vending machine on first or 2nd floor (we were on 2nd floor) - full disclosure, I didn't check other floors. I really expected more out of a Choice brand hotel. We have stayed at Quality Inns and they were very good. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone!!!

VERY COMFY!!

I booked this hotel they Hotwire.com. We were very pleased with the room, it was very clean and updated. The employees were very nice and help full. We loved the chocolate chip cookies and the front desk in the evening. Only thing that pissed me off was yes they are pet friendly but dam $25 a night that's a little high

Dirty tub

We will never stay here again. The staff were friendly but they did not wear masks, it seemed like it was owned by a family who live within the hotel and used the lobby as their living room. When we arrived a woman was laying in the lobby with no shoes, no socks and no mask on picking her nose. My husband and I went away and booked with them for the jacuzzi tub and it was absolutely filthy. The staff was very friendly and when I called down to ask them to bring cleaning supplies up to the room and they attempted to help me clean the spouts with no success. They tried to tell me the stuff floating in the tub was from the water and I needed to let it run a while so it would clear up. They said didn't see the mold inside of the jets.. even after I scrubbed them with the supplies they gave me they still wouldn't come clean. We were very dissatisfied! We are choice reward members and usually have no problem with the hotels we stay in but this one was the worst.

I checked in super late after a long drive. I am spazzy about the cleanliness of hotels. This place looks and feels like the advertised pictures. I haven't slept this well in a long time. It's clean, so cheap, the people who work here seem to have been transported from a different era where everyone is super polite and cleanliness and service expectations are exceeded. I'm actually kind of waiting for something imperfect.

2.5 stars. Friendly staff, but the reviews here and on hotels.com go a little overboard. Obviously I'm not staying here to watch TV in a different room than I usually do, BUT... Very small TV, half the very few channels they offer even come in, and the ones that do look like you're using rabbit ears in the 20th century. This isn't my first time in a hotel with staticy HBO, but it's always weird. And no ability to sleep time the TV. When I stay in hotels alone, that's a big pet peeve. The microwave is ancient and the fridge is weak. The beds are okay and the pillows are typical of 2 star hotel, along with the cheapest one-ply Scott toilet paper possible. It's not a bad hotel, but the fact that it costs twice as much as several other comparable (or better) hotels in the immediate vicinity means it gets judged a bit harsher. The breakfast is typical of cheap hotels (waffle bar, powdered eggs, questionable sausage). There is no "do not disturb" sign to place on the door, so hopefully the maids don't come in while I shower. Room is spacious, WiFi is weak. You can hear footsteps through the hall and doors opening and closing pretty constantly through the walls. I never use hotel pools, but if you're expecting one because they claim they have one, then be warned: it's about half the size of a kiddie pool and gets as deep as 3 feet. It looks more like a big bathtub than a pool. The exercise room has more equipment than these types of places usually do, but it's cramped. Again, not a bad hotel; but for the rave reviews, you actually get a better night's sleep at literally half the price at the Super 8 up the street.

Everything was checked out online via Yelp, which was a nice confidence boost. I didn't want to make a mistake and end up with a nightmare stay. Next, the parking and the front desk entrance are at the rear of the building. It has a fascinating history. Throughout the hotel, there are historical paintings of Gettysburg. The restaurant that was part of the inn no longer serves breakfast, so we had to drive out for a bite. However, we planned to visit the battleground early in the morning, so this was no big issue. Also, please ignore folks who repeat what they've heard about ghosts at the Federal Pointe Inn. Besides, historians often write these people off as less reliable, and their accounts are open to individual interpretation. Like the game, you see on TV where folks sit in a circle, and a person would whisper something in the ear of another person, who would whisper it to the next and so forth, and it virtually had no resemblance to the original. Well, that sums up ghost stories. So, don't allow ghost stories to deter you from staying at the Federal Pointe Inn.

I was flying solo, so I stayed in the smallest (cheapest) room - Violet Room - and it was nice if not huge. Bed, bath, etc., were really nice. Room does have TV and wi-fi, but I was "on vacation" and did not use them that much. Mornings I went down, grabbed coffee, and sat out on the 2nd floor balcony reading and enjoying the view of the yard. Weather was great this visit, and this was hard to beat! The public spaces in the inn were plentiful on both 1st and 2nd floors, and I felt very comfortable. Gaslight's location is in the heart of Gettysburg, and everything but the battlefield itself is an easy walk. That included places to eat and get ice cream. I preferred this to being farther out, driving around, finding parking, etc. Hosts - Mike and Jennifer - were great, friendly, answered all questions, and helped with anything I wanted. If you are looking for a 9-room B&B experience with other nice people, want to enjoy the heart of the town of Gettysburg, and do not need a mega-hotel, the Gaslight Inn should be high on your list.

A Review of the Brickhouse Inn, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania (in the Style of 1870)…read more During my recent sojourn with my wife to the historic town of Gettysburg, we had occasion to lodge at the esteemed Brickhouse Inn, a house of most commendable character. The establishment itself is of handsome construction, its brick walls bearing the quiet dignity of years well kept. The chambers are appointed with tasteful elegance, and though we have, in our travels, rested upon beds of somewhat greater softness, the comfort of the accommodations was by no means wanting. Yet it was at the breakfast table that the Inn's true excellence shone forth. The morning repast, prepared with notable skill by Mistress Patty and served by Hannah, was of such quality and abundance as to dispel any minor discomforts of the night. Their attentiveness and mastery of the kitchen rendered the meal a delight of the highest order, and I found myself most grateful for her gracious service. In sum, our stay proved exceedingly pleasant, and we departed with a sense of satisfaction and goodwill toward the proprietors. The Brickhouse Inn stands as a worthy refuge for the traveler, offering beauty, hospitality, and a breakfast most splendid indeed

Then finally in the morning I wanted to confirm they got any of the emails, and finally one came back. Communication isn't the greatest. Also, the parking is horrible. If each room has a spot. There should be a sign that it is that's room parking spot. There is no signage and if you get there in the dark your screwed to even know it the right parking lot. I had high hopes for this B&B but it definitely fell short. If you're looking for a "spooky" place this may be it. It all seemed a bit fake to me. I did appreciate the 2 fake fireplaces we had in our room. It hit under 40 over our stay at night, these were great. If you have neck/back problem-bring your own pillows or whatever you need. The pillows reminded me of the deflating hospital pillows. Also, there's a shareable hot tub and we didn't know about it. Maybe because it was off season, things weren't running smoothly? Not sure.
