An overnight stay while attending an event. My suite was cozy and clean. Hotel staff was pleasant at the check in. They offer me complimentary water which was perfect because it stopped me from having to leave to get some. The bed was comfortable and roomy. It felt good to spread out without my spouse. The morning breakfast was eggs, sausage, bacon, sausage links, waffle, biscuits and gravy. It gets busy down there with people hanging out around the food area. The hotel offers a gym and outside pool. Walking distance from a little coffee spot if your not into the pot made bland of things. For a Beat Western I was impressed. 3 1/2 Stars.

This Best Western Plus was renovated and newly reopened this year - I stayed back in June and had a great experience!! The staff were all awesome - so welcoming and friendly! They even had my name out on a sign welcoming me that made me feel so special haha! I believe they do that for their elite tier members (I was gold then but have since made Diamond :P LOL!) The entire hotel, from the lobby to the breakfast area to the room was spotlessly clean and all seemed brand new - even the pool! I had a king room - nice view of the pool and mountains. Just a standard hotel room - nothing crazy - but nice and clean and plenty of space to move around. And plenty of counter space in the bathroom which I loved! My room had a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker - everything I needed! Bed was comfy - even had a couch and seating area!! They give you a nice hot breakfast - waffles, eggs and meats along with all the usual cold offerings. Plenty of hot, yummy coffee and lovely staff attending the breakfast area eager to help! There's tons of parking and it's very nicely located for exploring the beautiful Bellingham area. They also offer an airport shuttle which is convenient! Oh fyi their pool is seasonal from March to October! Would happily stay here again!

Value: 10/5 Stars. At ~$140 for a room that actually had two complete rooms (bed, 3/4 bath in one…read morefull bath in the other, refrigerator, TV, coffee service in one and microwave in the other) in the heart of downtown on a Sat night, this place gets 10 STARS! Service: 5/5 Stars. Granted, we were "low-touch" guests, but everyone was pleasant, prompt, professional, and helpful. The room was perfectly clean and set-up for our stay. The restaurant staff were very nice and accomodating. Quality: 4/5 or 5/5 Stars. I only took off a star because it is a very old hotel and there are limits to what can do without completely tearing down, which would be a massive shame. You could argue for 5 stars for what it is, but I put that love into the value section. They could perhaps do a little more for a more upper-end feel, but then prices would start rising and charm would start to drop. If I ever have a need/desire to stay in Bellingham again, if I'm on a budget or just want to be walking distance from everything in the downtown core, this hotel will definitely be my first thought. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for this.

The jazz was a lovely addition and the hotel itself seemed lovely as well and historic. I got the mushroom toastie and it was okay, wasn't my favorite and I would probably get something else on the menu if I were to come here again. Vibes were lovely, and I would recommend the jazz brunch!

Usually when I feel there's room for improvement, I rate a business no higher than 4*. I'm making…read morean exception here, because the value part of the equation is so strong. We had room #111, which is the closest room on the second floor to the main (lobby) building. I thought road noise might be a problem, but it wasn't really noticeable. In fact, there were only two things I didn't like about the room. There are no microwaves in the rooms. But there is a small one in the hallway on each building's floor, shared by all. Not as convenient (we use it a lot for tea, coffee, etc.), but good enough. More annoying was the amount of light coming in from the windows. There are bright security lights on all night (that's good), but the curtains were not designed to cope with that light. Therefore, the room remains pretty bright all night. That I really didn't like. You can look at my photos for an idea of what the breakfast buffet included (e.g., 2 kinds of bread, 2 fruits, 4 dry cereals, coffee, etc.) Nothing remarkable, but I have definitely experienced worse. Overall, it was a comfortable, clean, and relatively quiet room, at an exceptionally good price. Service was always very friendly and helpful. And the location is centrally located, near the I-5 freeway, near downtown, and pretty close to Boulevard Park, Zuanich Point Park, and Whatcom Falls Park. If I return to Bellingham, this would definitely be my first choice of lodging.

Gentleman at the location was warm and inviting. Property is clean and well maintained.read more
