Take one rainy Saturday down the Jersey shore, and sprinkle in six friends on a girls weekend,and you will get a great memory to take away like an ornament on a Christmas tree. That's right, this is how we greeted RICK, all decked out in our matching pink shirts. I can only imagine his initial thought on the hoard of 50 year olds walking in the gun shop that day. His open mind to teach, inform, and educate us on proper gun handling and safety was not wasted. He took his time with each of us and the firearm of choice. He didn't stop there as he passed us off to fellow workers, DON and BETTY. They eased us into our shooting stalls, one with a 9 mm and one with a 22 caliber. Instructed our group to be each other's support system. IT WAS FREAKING AWESOME!!! As much as the word shenanigans came up, we keep a professional demeanor in the range. We would never jeopardize anyone's safety or disrespect our teachers of the day. At the end of our time, Betty showed off the hatchet range with the delight. Nearly all 5 stars so I decided to give it a shot. My first experienced was signing up. The webpage is clean and easy to navigate. I used the live chat for questions and the owner Will responded in real time (not some automated bot). Five stars for the website! My wife went first for an HQL. She is shy and never held a gun. I was nervous about her going alone. Will, said he would take good care of her. She came home beaming with pride. SHE DID IT! She said Will was very kind and patient. She said she loved the course. So we went and bought her her first firearm (S&W Equalizer 9mm). Now me. I went next for a wear/carry on 6/24, 6/25. I only own a 357 revolver. Will was gracious enough to let me use one of his personal semi-autos. I am not implying he does this for everyone. You are expected to bring your own firearm and should, but he graciously made an exception. His resume was impressive. I liked the fact we both did Basic Training and AIT at Ft. McClellan Ala. and were both MP's. You could tell from the opening moments of instruction he was prepared. He had a nice blend of mixing the formal PPT material with classroom interaction and hands on exercises to keep the students engaged. I appreciate this since I was an instructor on US ARMY Depo's for many years. I am a vet. I could have skipped the training with my DD-214, but I am sure glad I did not! Will taught me about things I was not aware of, from tactical techniques, to laws, to how to apply for my permit. Well worth my time and money. Never once felt "bored". I have six pages of notes crammed with important information from the sessions. On the range, I felt comfortable and safe. He took command of the range. I scored 100% I shook his hand and left. I will use him again for recertification for sure. Oh, I forgot to mention his wife is available right in the classroom for you fingerprinting needs. Trophy to Will.

All ranges have waivers and most understand how they need to protect themselves. Some (Range Time…read moreincluded) include a clause where you waive your right to bring action "even upon their ordinary or gross negligence" I find this uncomfortable. Not sure why more don't. I frequented a range in western MD, when I lived there, that didn't have such a clause.
