Ryan did a great job replacing our water heaters. I solicited bids/proposals from five plumbing companies to replace our two water heaters in a commercial building. They were connected in series and installed on a wooden cabinet. I was looking for an in-kind replacement or another solution that made better sense for us. Ryan clearly understood our existing configuration and provided alternatives that made better sense, were less expensive, and provided better functionality. On replacement day, he and his helper were delayed by an emergency that required addressing before a restaurant could open; he let me know what his status was and when he would be at our facility. Once there, they worked very efficiently and made a nice, tidy, and organized installation. He handled all the permitting and the system passed with no questions or concerns. Best was the best value for our work, did a great job, and were nice while doing it. I have struck the other vendors off my approved vendor list and will use them for all of our plumbing needs. read more

Businesses like "Best" Plumbing are everything that is wrong in the service industry- scammy, unethical and vulture-like. We had a few plumbing issues that we wanted to address in our home and someone came over to check it out. We were told to pay $309 just for diagnosing what was wrong, even though we already knew what was wrong, and when we told him that was absolutely ridiculous, he charged us $110 just for coming out. The $110 would not be applied towards the cost of service. Mind you, we live less than 5 miles away. In today's economy, $110 is a pretty penny just to drive out to a house that's just a hop, skip and a jump away. I love supporting small, independently run businesses, but man, businesses like this one with outrageous hidden costs feel so gross, especially when you're desperate and need an urgent fix. With a Yelp rating as low as theirs, I doubt they'll survive for much longer. read more

I had a 20 year old water boiler that needed replacing. All of the dispatchers I spoke to were professional and kind. The plumbers themselves were great - Collin is amazing - he and his apprentice Juan were the epitome of work ethic and customer satisfaction, as they did work on my house for approximately five days in freezing weather. You can tell they take immense pride in their work -- I've had interesting experiences with contractors for other house-related issues, and was a bit wary because of that but I was blown away by the quality of their work, their timeliness and really good communication. My only feedback is for their billing/finance department. I feel like I got some mixed messages about their payment system, and figuring out how to avoid the 4% transaction charge on an already expensive job was somewhat challenging. Other than that, no complaints and will be calling Collin and his team for yearly check-ups on my new system. Thank you! read more

I agree with several of the reviewers here on the "surprise factor" bordering on a scam. (See Favid F. especially.) We needed to replace an outdoor spigot yesterday (Aug 7, 2025). We assumed we could do it ourselves but it was a work day, the thing was leaking badly and neither of us had the time. Worse, our regular plumbing company (O'Neill, who are quite good) were not available. The attendant gave my wife some story about wanting $1,000 because he might need to get into the structure of the house. (Huh?) He offered to do it for like $500 if we were willing to take the risk he didn't damage something. (Huh?) My wife reluctantly agreed to the latter because she was in a hurry but didn't look carefully at what she signed and, long story short, we were out almost $1,000 for about 45 minutes work and no work in the house was necessary. My wife complained to the management but they basically told her to pound sand. They got our money this time. Every few years we spend a few thousand dollars to replace our ejection pumps in our basement. They will not only not get any of that work, I will also take a personal interest in spreading the word that their short-term gain seems to mean more than customer satisfaction. read more

Wow - I wish I would've read some of these reviews on Yelp before I engaged with Best Plumbing of Seattle on Aurora Avenue. Lesson learned! Anyone reading these reviews should definitely take serious caution and probably go elsewhere unless you want to be fleeced/scammed. Jason, the plumber from Best Plumming (aka Worst Plumming) arrived today for a second visit to our home and in 25 minutes installed a thermistor for our digital shower. See attached photo, but this is a 40 part that simply plugs into a motherboard and a port This did not fix the problem but he presented me with a bill for $1052! I told him I thought that was unreasonable, especially since he didn't fix the problem and he'd been in my house for less than 30 minutes. He was also on a phone call for part of that time. I requested to speak to his supervisor to work out something reasonable and he returned to his truck. Shortly, there after I received a call from their collections bulldog person in South Carolina threatening to file a criminal charge with the police for refusal to pay AND put a lien on my home in the morning if I didn't pay the bill before we got off the phone. She was shockinly threatening and absolutely riduculous. I'm guessing part of her compensation is based on not giving an inch on calls like this. Not getting anywhere with her, I requested to speak with a supervisor and she patched in a customer service person named Mike. He also refused any sort of reasonable compromise and agreed the best course of action was to contact the police and file a lien on our home if I didn't pay the $1,052 bill. He also complained that the call was making him late for another meeting. Wow. I know this all sounds crazy, but you can't make this sh*t up. My next step will be to file an official complaint with the Better Business Bureau and write as many reviews on social media I can to warn fellow homeowners in the area regarding this scetchy and unethical company. If you don't want to be taken advantage of by extremely rude folks, I strongly recommend going elsewhere. read more

Got 90% of the way through a faucet replacement to realize the fittings on the new faucet did not match the old hot source fittings. Giovanni Hansborough came out this morning, on time, texted and called in advance. Diagnosed the problem, had to go back to the shop for a part, came right back and fixed it. (am I allowed to mention that he explained how he did it so I could learn how?) Cleaned up afterwards, checked it all out, made sure I was satisfied with the job. Courteous, kind and efficient. They got hair out of my bathtub drain and charged me almost $800!!! The plumber was there for less than 30 minutes and charged me for 2 hours at $270/hour plus a service charge! I was quoted like $75 to come out and asses the situation and ended up with an $800 bill for doing absolutely nothing! They are scam artists! read more

Workers Are always very loud at 5am never respect the tenants who pay rent in the building we get woken at 5am sharp everytime best plumbing gets to work. They've profiled against me multiple times, also there's absolutely NO PARKING for the tenants and rent is super high. They use cheap Spackle inside their units my entire wall was starting to literally melt once wet which is not okay. When I moved in the kitchen sink was very loose like they did a rush job. I have hired Best several times. I have paid them Several thousand dollars. Today when I called them they said it costs $99.00 just to send someone out. That money does not credit to the work. They charge a lot, but I will not use Best Plumming again due to this unreasonable charge. Best maybe not the Best. One of their plumbers came out to assess my bathroom project for a fee of $100, which would have been deducted if I had hired them. That seemed fair to me, but once the plumber realized my clawfoot tub/shower fixture upgrade was going to be a little idiosyncratic, he passed off the task of finding the fixtures to me and then subsequently ghosted me on our email correspondence. In 2015, Best Plumbing replaced a section of our old clay sewer line and were wonderful to work with. We were pleased with the experience, so when we had a basement drain backup recently we called them back to have our side sewer cleaned out. Over the phone, we were told about their new policy of charging $99 just to have a technician come out, which sounded perturbing until they mentioned they had a $199 "drain cleaning special for August." We had just gotten a quote for $700 to hydrojet our line, so this seemed great. However, it turned out that "cleaning" meant cabling, not hydrojetting--and while cabling definitely helped, it wasn't really enough to deal with the root intrusions in our line, so they wanted to come back the next day to hydrojet. Since they had already started the project, we agreed. But we'd already paid $398 plus tax for the cabling and dispatch fee the first day. Then, they ended up charging us a completely outrageous $1,269 plus tax for the hydrojetting the next day, in addition to the cabling charge. Our receipt for the second day stated that the technician "Took off price of cabling yesterday from todays hydrojet." However, while the itemized invoice did include a waiver of the $99 dispatch fee that would have been charged for the second day, there was no credit for the $199 price of the cabling. We called a couple of times to clarify their charges. The first time was before the technician returned the second day. When I asked about the cost of hydrojetting, we were rudely told that there was no one we could speak to about fees over the phone and the technician was the only one who could explain to us what we would be charged (a pretty bizarre policy, especially since I'd been quoted a price by someone over the phone when I set the initial appointment). When we called after the hydrojetting had been done, to try to understand why a credit hadn't actually been applied to our second invoice for the cost of the cabling, we were first rudely brushed off again, and ultimately informed that the credit *had* been applied. In other words, if we hadn't had the cabling done, the hydrojetting would have actually cost $1468. The upshot is, Best Plumbing either overcharged us and refused to admit it, or their standard price for hydrojetting a sewer is nearly $1500. Let our story be a lesson to you. You can do better, both on price and service. May your sewers run smoothly! read more

Best Plumbing charged us $330 for a 35-40 minute visit where they diagnosed that we needed a new dishwasher. We challenged the bill, but Best Plumbing said that the charges had been explained to us at the time of the visit. At the visit we were told it was $99 to come out and $400/hr for their leak detection service. I had assumed that they had to employ some special technology to detect a leak and that was the reason for the high rate. All they did was pull out the dishwasher and tell us that a valve was damaged and we could either get a new dishwasher or call an appliance repair service. They were timely and correctly diagnosed the problem, but the charges are ridiculous. read more

It's a basic part, and even Amazon has it available. The installation cost was much higher than we had expected as well. So here we sit, they have our $ for us to have a few feet of copper pipe with nowhere to go on our garage wall. First appointment was cancelled, then I had to push the customer service to get it re-scheduled. We had expected this to be a one trip and done, instead it took the whole day for them to go back to their site to get supplies for a basic job, and yet not being able to complete the job while they ordered a part. Unfortunately, this company appears to be falling apart. They came out and for $990. Fixed an outdoor faucet. When completed I noticed that the plumber had left a gapping hole around the pipe in my garage wall. When asked him to fill it to seal my garage he said he didn't have any foam insulation on his truck but it would be easy for me ( an elder woman) to go to Home Depot and fill it myself. I told him he could swing back in a week or so and finish the job and he told me that my house was sort of 'out of the way'. I have called 4 times to get this corrected and have not had a return call in over a month. I even called the billing dept. about my bill to get to someone responsible and no one returned my call. It appears the only way to get a response is here. I also was tricked into signing a place on an iPad, presented in the sun. I didn't see the actual document until they emailed it to me that said I was satisfied with the job. I emailed and called immediately. I was told the manager was in vacation. I guess I have to say to skip this company. While I have met the owner, it seems there is no customer support at the company. It really a pity. read more

The way their service drivers drive I wouldn't want them near my property on 3-29- 2024 at 5:47 a.m. I witnessed the driver come out of the diamond lane on 520 going westbound didn't even signal then just passed Somerset all the way across the 520 bridge he drove at speeds of 70 to 80 85 mph and it's zone that's only 40 and this was westbound on 520 then when he finally left 5:20 he was in the right lane took the lane to go to I-5 North and he didn't signal then either I might add when I tried to call best plumbing to complain about this driver the phone kept hanging up read more

I wish I could give minus 10 stars to this company. Their service was dishonest and unbelievably overcharged. I had technician A come to fix a leaky toilet that they put in four years ago during a remodel. It continued to leak, so a week later another technician came --and found that Tech A had put non-Toto parts into a Toto toilet, hence the continuing leak. Tech B put in the correct parts. It's now not leaking, but making a loud bang when flushed that it did not do previously. Then my perfectly working 2-3-year-old disposal suddenly quit. I did the usual (push in red button, try wrench) but could not get it to work, so foolishly called Best Plumbing again. Tech C came out, lay on the floor trying to get it to work --it would hum then stop. He said he didn't know, that I needed a new disposal. Reluctantly I agreed, and a new one was put in. It worked for half a day, then quit. I called again. Before another technician could come back, Tech B had come for the toilet. I mentioned the disposal as he was leaving, and he said he would take a quick look at it. HE FOUND THAT THERE WAS A GFC1 switch that had tripped, that Tech C had apparently not seen . . and had not tried plugging the disposal into another outlet. I HAD NOT NEEDED A NEW DISPOSAL that I was charged $1849.21 for!!! I called and spoke with a woman in billing, to protest that outrageous $1849.21 invoice that I had paid for this totally unnecessary service, and asked for a partial refund. She assured me that a manager would call me back. Although I have called repeatedly (maybe 10 times) for three weeks, no-one has returned my calls. I finally left a message that I would be posting my experience. I WOULD ADVISE ANYONE AGAINST USING THIS DISHONEST COMPANY! read more

Worst Plumbing. I called "Best Plumbing" for a water backup. They sent two plumbers and the entire ordeal took 4 days. I had to call another company to finish the work. The plumbers lacked equipment and adequate training. * they ran out of time twice, left, and rescheduled * their office canceled and reschedule a third visit * they had a basic snake that did not go far enough * they wanted to use a high-pressure wash, spent a couple of hours trying to figure out how to use it, and finally gave up * they tried to cut a cast iron pipe with a reciprocal saw and a regular blade. They got surprised that the blade could not cut it. They said they would have to come back with a different blade. * they did not have a water basin and had to ask me for one (I kid you not) * they left some water leaking between cabinet and floor * they did not use the proper putty on a drain flange. It never dried and had to be replaced. On the positive side, they were courteous. They really wanted to help fix the issue. They are also cheaper than other companies (if they succeed and finish the work). As an outcome, I cut my loses. I called another company which was able to clean the clog with a snake in one hour, without the need to cut any pipes. That other company was much more expensive though. read more

Never ever do business with this company IF you read their contract - it expressly states that they DO NOT WARRANT THEIR WORK! Recently their plumber damaged a pipe during his on site repairs. Later when I noticed the leak and called the plumber - all he did was state that the contract I signed reads "no warranty" and to add insult to injury he then said he knew that a problem was exacerbated when he was using his snake tool to remove a problem in the pipe but never informed me when he left. DO NOT HIRE BEST PLUMBING! They were to replace broken garbage disposal in commercial kitchen. BP incorrectly wired the garbage disposal but claimed there was a power issue to the disposal. We had to hire an electrician to look at the power issue and electrician found that there was power but the vendor had wired the disposal incorrectly. We have no problem paying for the new garbage disposal equipment but not happy about incompetent installation by BP plumber. BP has not listened to any of our concerns and insists on charging us full price for the disposal which did not work following their install. They are the Worst Plumbing around. :( read more

I had water leaking from the base of my toilet a few weeks ago. I called best plumbing, and they sent one of their plumbers out right away. His name was Zach and he was lovely. He diagnosed that I needed a new toilet and recommended a few options. They sent quotes over for top of the line toilets, something I expected. I asked them to break up the quote so I could see the price of the toilet itself and the price of the installation service. They claimed they were unable to break up the quote until I said I would purchase my own toilet. THEN, they were magically able to break up the quote. Zach came back and installed my toilet and fixed an additional problem with flooding due to a blockage in the main line. Zach again, was lovely. He said the problem should be solved and to call back if there was any additional leaking. The next day, there was more water leaking out of the base of the toilet so I called back. I was told there weren't any available technicians but they could schedule me for an appointment at 12pm the following day. 12pm rolls around and I have yet to hear from best pluming. I gave them a call at 2pm and was told that I was "never given an appt time because we always give an appointment window of two hours" they 1000% gave me an appt time, and even with a window, they were still late and hadn't called with an update. It is now nearly 5pm and they still aren't here. I called back to get an ETA and the woman on the phone, Chris had an attitude stating "what would you like me to do about it at this point? If he doesn't show up you won't have to pay" In conclusion, the customer service team lacks in professionalism and communication. Waiting 5 hours for an appt with no update, and an attitude when asked for an update is unacceptable. The only reason this is getting two stars is because the plumber that came to my house, Zach...was lovely. read more

We needed urgent help after hours when a water sensor located near our water heater and washing machine got triggered, and someone from Best Plumbing (I forgot their name - sorry) came by quickly and diagnosed the problem. They were up-front about their costs, professional, and quickly isolated source the issue. More recently, we needed to replace a slow-leaking kitchen faucet. They advised us not to replace the faucet with the replacement we had purchased due to potential quality issues, and did not charge us for the trip. That's the kind of advice I find most valuable since its very hard to get good information on quality/reliability of parts like that, so I appreciate that they did not just install whatever we had without saying anything. We plan to get a better one based on their advice, and have them install that. read more

I had a very unsatisfactory experience Best Plumbing to trying unplug a clogged kitchen drain on October 17. We were out of the country and had a house sitter staying at our home. Unfortunately, when he experienced a clogged drain in the kitchen, he called Best Plumbing. He had little experience with plumbing problems. When the technician came, he proceeded to try to unplug the drain without looking at the side sewer cards for the sewer layout. He managed to break the kitchen pipes and drains and had to replace the basket strainer. Then he tried to go through the vent on the roof. The incompetence continued. There was a kitchen cleanout below the kitchen in the basement which was missed and should have been found. Using this entry would have prevented all of the damage that Best Plumbing employees caused to the kitchen pipes. Apparently, the field supervisor, Mike Minetti, was called in, but Best Plumbing was still not able to fix the clogged drain or figure out the layout. Best Plumbing theorized a leak in a part of the wall where there are no pipes. In addition to not being able to fix the clog, they charged Michael a total of $1,883.85. This included the repair of the pipes they had damaged. Unlike the high quality one we had, they left us with a basket strainer that is either fully shut or loose fitting so that food debris goes down the drain! In addition, they had Michael sign forms saying all the work was fine! No other plumber has ever done that in our long home owning experience. Given the circumstances, this seems unethical. At this point, Michael finally emailed us (Malcolm and Lynn Best) in Europe. We said to stop the work for now and to talk to our regular plumber, Archie's Plumbing. Archie immediately found the cleanout and wondered why Best Plumbing didn't find it. To fix the clog, we used Fischer Plumbing who went through the appropriate kitchen cleanout and quickly fixed the problem. They were also baffled by Best Plumbing's approach. At this point we are asking for a refund of all of the charges except for an initial service call. We have paid Michael for all the funds he paid to Best Plumbing. read more

I had a very disappointing experience with Best Plumbing. I am extremely confounded by their billing system, poor communication, and total lack of transparency. I hired them for a shower faucet repair. After the "fix", I received a bill (no itemization or explanation and no upfront estimate) paid $630 for it which I found very frustrating, especially since the repair was non-sensical (the functioning of the handle did not correspond to the base plate, the range of tolerable water temp was about a centimeter, making it hard to shower without scorching oneself or getting icy water, they left a screw out). The faucet failed within the month so I called for a redo. The person on the phone said it was under warranty but wouldn't give me an estimate since they said it would depend on how long it took the technician. The technician returned and serviced it a second time. This time I purchased my own hardware to save on some of the charge. When he came back, he was there for most of day with multiple trips to and from Best for supplies. By the end of the day, only the shower faucet was replaced and not the shower head. At that point, I said to skip it since I was stressed by how much time he was taking. Then I received a bill for $1600. Again, no itemization, no supply costs, no hours, no rate, no note that anything was under warranty and applied to this second bill. When I spoke to someone about needing more detail on the bill, they told me that charge wasn't based on hours... that it was basically a flat rate for a type of job, and that I could have had an estimate at any time. This was completely counter to what I was told over the phone and by the technician. I think the only thing the initial $630 I paid went toward was to cover a service call fee that would have been added if the second fix was the first visit. (Also, if the actual needed repair had taken place at the first visit, I wouldn't have been out the whole initial payment). I also ended up calling in a second time once I requested and received a slightly itemized invoice. The invoice said complete replacement of tub and shower faucet for $1300. When I called back to say that it was only a shower faucet, and not a tub, and that the shower head wasn't even changed out, and should the rate be adjusted since that whole job on the invoice would've taken twice as long, they said no, the total on the invoice was just what it cost. ??? So now I have a functioning but mismatched shower faucet for $630 + $1600 + $200 on hardware I purchased myself. This is dumbly tedious to report when I could just summarize that I will never work with Best Plumbing again because of the lack of transparency and communication when it comes to their billing practices. It feels very much like they can put any amount on an invoice after the job is done and you are at the mercy of the technician. The people I spoke to and the technician were polite, I just don't trust that they have a consistent, communicable way of billing for work which leaves one with the feeling of being taken advantage of. If you decide to work with Best, make sure to receive an estimate up front with some clarity about how they plan to charge you. Good luck getting that info from them. We've used them for years, but unfortunately Best Plumbing seems to have deteriorated recently. Our most recent jobs had problems with quality of work and our last job also appeared to be badly overcharged given the apparent labor time required for the work. Surprisingly, Best Plumbing customer service refused to explain their billing when we contacted them about possible overcharging given the actual work required. After not showing up for the first 3 appointment windows, Kurt "verbally" quoted my wife $350-400 to install a tub, but when the plumber actually showed up, he intended to just install 2 angle stops for $400.00 and the rest of the tub drain and faucet install would be an additional charge. Home depot sells DIY angle stops for $11.95. When I asked Kurt about the "additional charges" to install the tub, he kept interrupting me and he let me know that it would be up to the plumber who just showed up. I let Kurt know that I felt like this was quite a scam, and instructed him to have his guys get their stuff and go to which he told me they had already packed up and were on the way out. Guess it must be high time to leave when someone shows up and cries foul. Sorry, Kurt- but in my opinion, bait and switch is pretty unethical and taking advantage of unknowing women is even more unethical. The big kicker is, we don't need angle stops, it's the wrong part for the job. If I had let them continue, someone would have charged me to repair the work they were going to do-- Sorry I wouldn't waste my time listening to your justification for overcharging my wife, Kurt. Sorry you spec'd the wrong parts. I say "Best" plumbing is probably the worst, and you should get anything they quote you in writing, and potentially get a second opinion as to the quote and it's specified parts. Reading some of these "positive reviews" really makes me wonder... Watch out and be careful. Don't let people take advantage of you. EDIT: Lol, Dave. I Saw your response. We got a new plumber, $615 for all work inclusive of parts. No one asked you to warrant or fix anything- we just asked that you install the tub, to which Kurt said $400, and we said ok. Next thing I know is your guy going to do $85-115 of work and wants to charge me $400, while adding on costs that are now "up to the plumber on site...." previously undisclosed under the guise of a verbal quote. What a weird way of doing business unless you're trying to take advantage of unwary consumers and stack the bill. In my opinion, your company's actions were unethical enough that we fired you guys on the spot and hired the next guy with considerably better results. He's doing the job for a lot less and isn't trying to add on costs or change the game half way through. We should have used him first. He actually is the best, and I'll leave him a review here too so others can see what a great job he did for so, so much less.
