First and last time visitor. Initial impression is old. Facility is old, furniture is old and didn't seem clean. this is not the "best" by any means. I didn't see them opening sterilized tools so here's hoping I don't get fungus! we had an appointment for two pedis done at the same time. did not happen. same person did both pedis. Equipment was covered in dust, utensils were used without being sterilized, emery boards, toe separators used for pedis were reused, pedi stations were not sterilized between customers, male tech was rude, nail stations were not cleaned after each customer. Found them on yelp, as long as the salon is clean I don't mind where I get my nails done. The salon owner did my nails, and did an excellent job. I was talked into a gel manicure and pedicure for $54, which is much more then I pay at home but less then the surrounding area, apparently. She really took the time to shape each nail perfectly. I was almost ready to leave with no polish they looked so good plain! I was there for two hours which was a little alarming. They were busy and recommended an appointment, but I called right before I came and didn't have to wait at all. Went at 5 Pm on a Wednesday. No weekday mani pedi special package options. read more

I have been going to this salon for a few years. A few weeks ago I went fo a gel mani and regular pedi. I was in a hurry and just paid the bill. I later looked and the receipt and saw he charge of $69 plus change. When I called and spoke to Kevin he would not dislose the reason for the charge. The receipt was not itemized and I was told no salon would itemize receipts. It was such an odd charge. They do not charge tax and even if a charge for using a credit card it should not have been this much. the tip was not added to the bill. Will not go back I think something is not legit. read more

The nail technicians were lovely. The owner, however, went on a loud and bigoted rant - loud enough to be heard throughout the entire salon - about black people and the lgbtq community. I just had my pedicure and full set white tips done in an hour and ten minutes. I called ahead and they made time for me on short notice. I can easily say that this nail salon has always been accommodating and has always provided a fantastic end product. The things I like most is the owner encourages everyone that works for him to do nails the same exact way and for me that's a must. I like that it's never a nail factory like experience. Everyone talks to you like they've known you forever. If you mind people joking and being real with you this may not be your place; but I love it! The only thing I would like to see different in the entire nail industry is a more SPA like setting at certain times of the day; so you are ensured peace and quite. I went here the other day for a quick pedicure. Well, there wasn't much quick about it. i believe the girl doing my nails was fairly new at it which is why it seemed to take some time. I was suprised at the price $25 and the pedi was mediocre. She got a bit to agressive with the cuticles and the toe nail trim. it gets a solid eh from me. Best Nails is by far the best nail salon in Carlisle. Kevin has a talent for acrylic and gel nails. I know when I go here I will always walk out with fabulous looking nails. No need for me to worry as the quality and standard of his work is very high. And he is fast. The whole staff is talented. My favorite pedicures are with Gil. But again they are all good here. Most of the people here have been working together for years and are good friends. It's a fun place to go and relax and enjoy the close working relationship these people have. The salon itself is very clean and has a relaxing atmosphere in part I think because the people are so relaxed and enjoy each others company and it shows in the great work they do. this was over a year ago. kevin fixed my nails up the next day and made them perfect. after that i visited him a few more times, and only him. he's the best. if i still lived in pa, i would still be going to kevin to get my nails done. he even has partnered with my OCD and had me checked to see if i liked the shape and length before painting them. read more

My mom and I went here because of the good reviews here and were very disappointed. It's kind of dirty, the technicians didn't really seem like they knew what they were doing, and the business cuts corners to save money. For example, they don't use base or top coats. Worst dip manicure I ever had. They did not even last 5 days before they started cracking and the clear polish wore off. I called to let them know and asked for a refund. I was offered a fix. The nail techs were awesome and deserving of a generous tip for being polite! Unfortunately, Kevin (Manager) left much to be desired. When calling ahead to schedule a last minute same day appointment for three mani/pedi's, Kevin was very accommodating and provided us appointments. He did ask if we wanted "basic", no gel tips/acrylics, etc. During the call. Which I told him "no" as I was just grateful that we could get appointments. Upon arriving and selecting our nail polish, we were seated by our technicians who brilliantly "upselled" us to gel pedicures as they "dry quicker". As they offered, we agreed (they did not disclose the price, which upon checking out was a bit high in my opinion). Upon Kevin noticing two of us (who happen to be black) were getting gel pedicures, he began very loudly verbalizing that he had asked what we wanted and we had said basic and was concerned that the technicians were going to get backed up cause they were spending too much time with us. I found this odd as it was not time for the next clients and it seemed an odd customer service practice to be complaining about customers in such a way that are spending additional money in your establishment and not causing any disruption to any other scheduled clients. This encouraged a "Nail Salon Nancy" to contribute her comments on how "you can't just add services when you go for a doctors appointment"...unaware that the service was offered to us. So we continue with our services and the last member of our trio (who happens to be white) due to Kevin's behavior and creating a hostile environment for us, adds a gel manicure without notice or comment from Kevin. As our basic manicures are drying, we hear Kevin complain loudly about two Asian women that were over 30 min. late for their 4:30 pm appointments and were losing their "privilege". To our surprise when the late women arrive, the three of them are immediately seated with a jovial "you're late" and a smile from Kevin. After paying a combined $193 (not including tip) my white friend asked Kevin if he was the manager...he ignored her and then said he would not talk to her, said he was not the manager and that she could not speak to the manager. So IDK if Kevin is racist or not but, it seems odd that he did not talk to two black customers or their white friend while being courteous to everyone else. I know that I will never spend another penny of my hard earned money there...especially since the manicure chipped within the first 3 days of my vacation. read more

Went there today for the first time because I was looking for a friendlier place than where I was going before. The staff was so much nicer and in high spirits! Lein was excellent-- it had been 5 years since my last time at a salon -- I explained that I was no longer working outside of the home ( I do a lot of hands on rough volunteer work now) and this was a little treat before going on Vacation-- She took her time and explained as she worked -- kept asking questions - my nails and feet look perfect!.. I was looking forward to getting my nails done, but every nail place I checked the reviews for were not very promising. Finally I stumbled across Best Nails and there were tons of great reviews. When I called, Sophia answered and was very sweet, answered my questions and didn't seem annoyed by me at all. When I arrived for my appt (30 mins early), they took me right away. Sophia did my nails, which were beautiful and I am so happy with them! Carla did my pedicure, which is equally as beautiful and she made me feel so relaxed with the foot and leg massage. These ladies never once made me feel like an inconvenience and they carried on conversation with me which I never experience in a nail salon. I have been going to Best Nails to have my nails done since March. I used to go to Happy Nails in Gettysburg and they cut me almost everytime and they were putting on new acrylics every 2 weeks because they kept popping off. I have the SAME set of acrylics today that I had put on back in March!!! If you EVER go there to get your nails done and you are not 100% happy you need to tell the owner Kevin. Best Nails lives up to it's name! Not only in this area, but any area I've lived, including Honolulu and Seattle! From the moment I entered this lovely salon I was treated like family and made to feel welcome - something I haven't always felt since moving to this area. Kevin's humor and personality were delightful, and my manicure and pedicure were fabulous! I felt pampered and like a new woman when I left, and my nails have never looked better! One of the main things I noticed was how clean the salon was and the absence of the usual nail salon odor! When I commented on how surprising that was, Kevin told me he had recently installed three new air induction systems in addition to a huge air purifier. Very impressive. I was told this was the best place in Carlisle to get your nails done. So called today to make appointment here as a birthday gift for myself. I have an allergy to soy/nut based oils and wanted to find out the ingredients in the massaging & cuticle oil prior to going and the staff didn't know what the ingredients were in the oils they use! When asked if they can find out blatantly said, "Oh we don't know and we can't find out!" As a nurse for 30 years and working closely with the public I've learned, a little extra customer service goes a long way!!! It only takes a few minutes to find out information, such as reading the manufacturers list of ingredients supplied with the product as required by federal law for everyone's safety including the workers. Best nails regardless of being talented you must remember to provide exceptional customer service. Which isn't just smiling, being pleasant or complimentary, it's also being 100% knowledgable of your craft including the pertinent information of exactly what comprises the tools you are utiliizng on the customer!!! read more
