I went back and forth between splurging on it or just doing it myself, but I can confidently say it was worth EVERY penny to get it done by these lovely ladies!! Lexi did my hair and makeup trial, then my makeup the day of the wedding. Ashayna and Christin were also part of my bridal dream team and they absolutely killed it. My sisters, mom, and I were all over the moon with how our hairstyles and makeup turned out. This is a lot coming from someone who doesn't normally wear makeup and didn't want to look super caked up on my big day. The salon is adorable and we bought a bunch of products for our hair, purses, and hair clips while we were in for our services. What a hidden gem!! The salon is in a Plaza right off of 81. I found this place by doing research and it just so happens one of the co-owners used to do my hair when she was at another salon. That was like almost 15 years ago. Upon walking in, i was greeted immediately and was given a new client envelope filled with coupons to use in the future. That was awesome! I saw Erica. I had already seen her work on IG and she is AMAZING!!! I was scheduled for a blowout, but when she saw my hair (which another stylist at another high end salon) had don't to my hair, she asked me if I wanted her to shape it up. She knew immediately what the other stylist had done. I have thin hair, and Erica brought it back to life with a little of her magic. Not only does my hair look fuller, but it now has shape to it. She is very knowledgeable and makes you feel so at ease. I'm going back Friday for color and I'm so excited!! I would definitely recommend Erica. Went in and got a manicure & pedicure from Mia. I showed her a picture of what I would like and she was absolutely wonderful. She has AMAZING talent. She didn't use any stencils to draw the nail art on, she did it freehand. She is a perfectionist and made sure my nails were cleaned up with no hangnails or skin around my nail beds. My pedicure was just as BEAUTIFUL. She also is a wonderful person to talk to and you can tell she loves what she does. Since getting these done, I had numerous people stop me and tell me how beautiful my nails and pedicure look. When you walk into a Salon with a fro, and walk out looking like a pro, you know it deserves 5 stars! Cut and Style: My Stylist Elise, is a sweet Caucasian girl. Me being ethnic, I always worry about my hair not being tamed by someone who has, "easy" hair. Now ladies with your wild curls (afro, latin, dominican, Puerto rican, etc)... Do not under estimate this woman. She UNDERSTANDS THE STRUGGLE! Elise is Deva Curl certified and absolutely a pleasure. She is thorough but FAST. She highlighted me in record time with swift hands. She scrubbed the crap out of my scalp. My eyes rolled behind my head in relaxation. She cut my hair, curl by curl. Styled it and continued to cut till I was perfect. The salon it self is a modern gem in an otherwise not so modern area. I have never seen a wash lounge. I Wash lounge: A magical room were there's glitter and sparkles....No, but it's a very zen and quiet room with Japanese style sliding doors, aroma therapy and meditation music. The lights are dim and are indirect from ones sight, in mystical colors. Wow. All this in a seperate room just for hair washing. I really wanted to take a picture, but I was too zen to care. Complimentsry beverages: 5th Ave serves wine...even at 10 am. Lolol. Not for me, but I noticed some other ladies doing it. They have tea, water and soda as well. I showed up for an appointment just to have the girl gone. Bad communication. Very disappointed. I'm a curly girl and I found this salon on the Deva Curl website. I've been getting a Deva Curl hair cut and using the Deva Curl products for about two years now. Jessica cut my hair and she did an excellent job! Her knowledge of the Deva Curl cut, products and "methodology" was spot on. The salon was nice and I was offered a nice glass of wine upon arrival. The day after my previous experience Christina the Salon Manager contacted me to apologize and acknowledge the mistake made with appointment scheduling. She asked if I would be willing to come in for a complimentary service and I accepted. The appointment was this evening with Mia. I arrived 10-15 minutes early and was promptly greeted by Christina, she apologized again, offered me something to drink and told me Mia would be with me shortly. Less than five minutes later Mia was ready to take me back. She already had the foot bath ready and waiting for me. She provided me all of the gel samples to pick from and mentioned a chrome gel polish. She excitedly got out the colors to show me and we decided to go with one of them. Mia was very meticulous and thorough with my pedicure. She did an excellent job and took her time and made me feel relaxed and not rushed at all. Christina came back several times to check in and see how things were going. Overall I'm glad I gave the Salon a second chance and really appreciate their willingness to reach out and remedy a mistake. The service I received was exactly what I'd expect from a quality salon. The pedicure was great and my toes are happy. I would definitely recommend as I feel confident they've remedied the issues that cause the scheduling snafu last time. read more

Where do I even start, Jess was my stylist and she was literally amazing the moment I met her. What really stood out to me was the fact that she asked me about my journey instead of saying "what do you want to do". She got a better understanding of me and what I do with my hair. I went in for a deva cut and it was well worth it. I loved my look and I love that she helped me pick out something that was best for me and would be realistic. The wash room was certainly amazing by itself as soon as I stepped foot in there I was very relaxed. I wanted to stay in there forever. Jess really opened up to me and we had a great conversation and she was very easy to talk to. I can't wait to go back and have the experience all over again. Great customer service is definitely a priority here. The front desk attendant, Larisa, was warm and welcoming. Sommer was timely in taking me back for my appointment. She spent a lot of time and conversation to find out what it was I was looking for that day. The shampoo room is a little slice of heaven. Quiet, set away and a luxurious head massage to boot! I needed a salon for a blow out and makeup for myself and my daughter for a wedding. It was a one time deal as we were not from this area. I was so pleased with the overall physical layout of the salon - so cool with the driers coming down from the ceiling and the style chairs laid out in a staggered way. Even the shampoo area was cool - enclosed by glass and having very comfortable and adjustable shampoo chairs. All very clean and neat. Everyone was so pleasant and helpful. The makeup artist did such a lovely job and listened to my own style preferences. I looked fabulous. My daughter looked fabulous. Likewise the hairdresser did a very stylish updo on my daughter and a perfect blow out for me. We both looked and felt awesome. Prices were very reasonable. I love getting my nails done by Sharon. She is professional and does fabulous designs on my nails. I always get tons of compliments on my nails and many folks ask me where I get them done. My nails used to be very short and ragged - they would break, peel, and split. Now they are growing beautifully. They are longer than they have ever been and healthier. Had my first experience today and I have to say the ambience and service was great. My stylist (Bree) listened to what I wanted and did her best to ease my fears through the process. First impressions mean everything!! And boy was I impressed! First time at 5th Avenue Salon. My first time having a Brazilian Blowout! Brianna, (Bree) explained everything about this technique to me. I initially inquired about the Keratin treatment. However, Bree explained; "with my type of coarse, wiry hair, the Brazilian Blowout would be more beneficial to me". She continued to explain what the difference was between the Brazilian Blowout and the Keratin treatment, as well as the difference in price. Yes! the Brazilian Blowout is more expensive, but the results, worth the money! The Brazilian hair care products are included in the price of the blowout. They help to keep your blowout shiny and manageable longer. The best part about my blowout... NO CHEMICALS! Plant based product. What a relief. All the ladies are friendly and genuine! They really love their jobs. They seem really happy to be there! Which makes for a very unique experience! The Stylists are all very attentive and caring. Very professional and knowledgeable! The salon is so clean and cozy. Tranquil music plays in the background while you are getting your hair shampooed and your scalp massaged!! Stopped by after a recommendation on a product. Had some questions about the item and a staff member by the name of Jennie (the esthetician) stopped whatever she was doing to assist me. Couldn't have been more professional. I discussed what I was looking for, she asked me some questions, I explained my concerns, and voila, item chosen. She didn't rush me. Even showed me how to use the product and made further recommendations (I have skin issues such as rosacea and vitiligo). I've been going to 5th Avenue for quite a few years now. I was the person who jumped from Salon to Salon just trying to find a home. Well, at 5th Avenue I did. From the phone call to make the appointment to the finish on the haircut, I was very impressed. The staff is extremely friendly and professional. If they walk by you while you're waiting, they all seem to say Hello. They take great pride in the work they do as well. My stylist is Ashley C. She is PHENOMENAL! She helps counsel me to figure out what will be the best cut and color and is very personable. They use great products and make sure they have happy customers when its' all said and done. Since they've expanded, I've also had my eyebrows waxed there. The lady took her time and they came out perfect. I will not go anywhere else to get my hair done or other treatments.
