High five for HiFi Kitchen!…read more Located a block away from the Historic Filipinotown arch, this cozy spot is worth a stop. I finally had the chance to visit this brick-and-mortar after experiencing their food on two occasions. Once was at a catered event at SIPA, and another was at a pop-up at FPAC. During that catered event at SIPA, I had the Vegetarian HiFi Sisig which has tofu, eggplant, & shiitake, onions, peppers, and vegan mayo. I was obsessed with how good this was and was hoping there would be leftover for baon. But I also didn't want to be greedy...lol! Then at FPAC, they offered Veggie Sisig Tacos. Similar ingredients, except in a corn tortilla. Again, obsessed! https://yelp.to/b419aFUgE- Craving that yummy sisig, I walked into HiFI Kitchen's brick-and-mortar, eager to partake once again. Sadly, they were out of tofu. But the gal behind the counter was willing to modify by going extra on the veggies for my Vegetarian HiFi Sisig bowl. At first glance the portion size didn't quite meet my expectation of what I would consider a $17 veggie bowl that lacked tofu and nixed the egg, but it was surprisingly filling! And maraming masarap! https://yelp.to/tW6yKt2uDg Also masarap is the Pandan Horchata Latte. Yum! https://yelp.to/prcFhvC2jO Staff is very helpful. The decor embraces the hifi theme (high fidelity in this case) of old media such as using an audio tape case to store napkins and utensils, or having a VHS tape rewinder mounted on the wall. There's a single table indoors, bar-height counter for extra dining, and a few more tables out front. When I arrived, there was a family of 3 in there. By the time I sat down, three parties of 2 formed a line at the register. Popular spot! Street parking was fairly easy at 1pm on a Saturday. Would easily make a stop here anytime I'm in HiFi. Happy to support a small Filipino business :)

The staff were nice and you mainly order at the kiosk up front! The interior was smaller than I thought it was, so theres only a bit of seating inside. We ordered the Vegetarian Sisig and the Vegetable Lumpia! The sisig was absolutely delicious! I really loved the bit of atchara it came with and what sauce the vegetables were coated in. The crema on top was also a nice touch of flavor! The vegetable lumpia took me by surprise because it wasn't a typical filling for vegetable lumpia I've usually had. It looked like it had squash and green beans in it and Im not sure what else. It was pretty good though! I will say it is a bit on pricier side and the portions aren't too big. Overall, great experience and the food was superb!

Recently bought a vinyl from eBay that needed a deep clean. The vinyl was in rough shape when I…read morereceived it. After multiple attempts at hand cleaning it, a good amount of crackling lingered. After looking at a couple options I settled on trying out Blind Dog's cleaning service. They offer an ultrasonic cleaning for records so thought I'd give them a shot. Mark was very helpful and quick to take care of my vinyl, and the price was fair for a double LP. The cleaning has increased the clarity for this record by a wide margin. Some crackling still remains, but probably have to accept that's from damage. Overall very happy with the service provided; glad my record could be restored to the point of enjoyable listening. Also an awesome shop to browse around. Clean, spacious and well organized. Will definitely come by again to pick up some records down the road.

I found Blind Dog Hifi and Records because I was looking for a record store that would…read moreprofessionally flatten my records. Upon a quick Google search for the Orange County area I found Blind Dog. I had received some records in the mail recently that were warped in transit and wanted to see if someone could help me out. I first called them a little after their open time to see if I could inquire and confirm the price, but there was no answer. I decided let's go ahead and visit the store because I'm not too far away. Showed up about 12:30 PM to a store with lights off and the front door locked. Business hours were clearly posted on the door showing 11 to 6 for a Saturday. I also double checked Yelp and Instagram and they both showed the same thing. I was really disappointed because I was wanting to get opinions on if it was worth it to flatten my records and they were closed in the middle of their business hours. I ended up going right across the street to Port of Sound Records and they were phenomenal with their assistance. Better luck next time then, Blind Dog?

To quote Kevin "What can I say? Things happen."…read more This snippy, blythe remark was made to me after an amplifier I bought from them new bricked. Disappointing. No good-faith attempt, nor any attempt, was made to make it right even after my spending into five figures with them at this shop. I spoke to a different person each time I inquired about the problem and each sounded unconcerned. I got the brush off. They couldn't even take it in for a look towards repairing it (with me offering to foot the bill). In addition, and perhaps most importantly, the 3 product reviews I've submitted to their site about this unit have been not been posted which leads one to the assumption that only the positive reviews of their products are posted. Which, of course, means the whole review section of their website is potentially untrustworthy, misrepresentative and useless. The cynic might say "Of course!" And I would have said that also, but I thought this place was different. It's not. Kevin's an expert salesman and pitchman, but save your duckets and keep moving.

Spending your money at Magnolia is wasting your money. I spent nearly $10,000 on a Magnolia system…read morenearly 3 years ago. That was probably the worst investment I've ever made in my life. I paid for thousands of dollars of unnecessary equipment and labor that made for an overly complicated, buggy system that they could never make work properly. The system design was terrible and the service was terrible. Instead of a simple system in which our components were independently operated, we got a Savant system that controlled both big TVs and the stereo system from one device. Savant never worked properly. It periodically stopped working completely. Often, I was able make it work by rebooting absolutely everything (Savant, receiver, cable TV box, etc.). When I couldn't make it work, I had a Geek Squad technician out, usually only after waiting a week or two during which nothing worked. It took an average of 3 phone calls to get a response, and sometimes a personal visit to the store, since they often ignore phone messages. The system stopped working again in June. After 2 weeks, a technician came out, fixed it, and it went out again that night. Patrick Burke (among others) just ghosted me - I could not get a response from them about next steps. I've had it. I just ripped out their entire system and am going with something much simpler: an Apple TV controller for each TV, sound bar instead of the cabling all over the house for ceiling speakers, and I'm using apps to stream for everything (including Spectrum) instead of other boxes. I get a better picture using the Apple TV devices than I ever got from their system, and I don't have to wait 2 minutes to see a picture when I turn on that horrible Savant system. I hope I can get something in resale for the thousands of dollars of equipment that I no longer need. One thing's for sure: I will never spend another dollar on Best Buy or Magnolia again. Don't waste your money and your time. What they recommend is not in your interest and they won't stand behind it.
