I went here to rent a flute for my daughter, and Sophia was incredibly helpful and friendly. She took the time to show my daughter how to properly assemble the flute and even taught her how to get started with practicing her blowing technique. My husband called this place after we rented an instrument in Chino Hills. The instrument they gave us over there was very damage and tarnish. We were running out of time and I decided to rent it anyway. My son came from school sad bc his classmates laughed at his instrument (not a nice thing) but hey kids are kids. I decided I would take it back since it was falling apart and I did not want to be responsible for a broken instrument. My husband spoke to someone on the phone and told him what we were looking for and the gentleman took care of my son. We rented an instrument in great condition and had all accessories we needed. I absolutely love this business I play clarinet and I get my reeds from here and they are not to expensive and there is a lady who work there her name is Sofia and she helps us every time we go in the store and if I were you I would request her she is so nice and they all have a large section of instruments. The Skinny: Kind of expensive if compared to a lot of other shops but they're not quite in the area. However, if you're looking for a good ma and pop, warm and friendly store, this is it! The Fat: Like I mentioned, this place may seem a bit pricey compared to other stores. For a complete flute overhaul, it was about $220 for my Armstrong Flute. Well.....I bought my Armstrong flute for $200, brand new. I forgot to pick it up and 3 months passed and after coming back from traveling abroad, I realized my flute was still at Singer's! I drove down and prepared for the worst (they probably sold it, or lost it or recycled it) "Oh, here you go!" I mean, they could of gave me a call, but at least they didn't get rid of it! Also, Singermusic often has deals for schools and Holiday sales. Check their website! read more

Great if you're a local. Not the cheapest, but willing to give you a deal if you're buying a lot of stuff. I needed a repair once, and they were honest enough to tell me I could fix it myself for much cheaper. Who does that?! We should have gone here first! Didn't want to take the drive over La Puente on the 60 fwy - I try to avoid this stretch of freeway between the 57 / 60 interchange through to the 605 due to the relentless bumper-to-bumper traffic at all times. But I digress. We spent the afternoon all over town looking for a specific book on beginning band instruments, specifically the trumpet. Like I said in the first sentence: should have gone to Singer Music first. They had the book. I'm not a musician myself, but they have a wide variety of instruments for sale and for rent. It looks like they specialize in rentals for school bands. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly judging from the number of customers inside on a midday Sunday afternoon. Everyone was getting assistance and we were greeted immediately as soon as the last customer had been taken care of. We were in and out in less than 5 minutes, but had hung around just a little longer to check out the different types of band instruments. Nice selection of wind, string and percussion instrucments on display and I'm sure they can get it if they don't have it. I notice they offer private lessons, too. Prices seem reasonable on rentals and I'm sure it varies from instrument to instrument. read more

Took my guitar to get it re-strung and not only did it take long, they had someone who was in the middle of training work on my strings which seemed a bit unprofessional in my opinion. My brother had to get his clarinet fixed because he couldn't hit the low notes for some reason. I called in several places to get it fixed, but they gave me unreasonable wait times and made me set up an appointment just to come in and let them see the clarinet. I came to this store because it is recommended by his school and I wish i could remember the guy's name. He took a look at it and tried to fix it for us. 10 minutes later, my brother was able to play the clarinet and hit all the notes well. We also bought maintenance tools for it, like cork grease and the little cleaner. It was a bit pricey, but I figured I would have paid more at another place just to get the instrument fixed. I recommend this place because they really do try to help you out and give good advice. read more

We went in to see how much it would be to repair my son's trumpet about a week ago. It needed to be welded in a couple spots and the tuning slide needed to be straightened. They couldn't even tell me how much it would cost and the repair guy wouldn't even be in for a week. The staff is very unprofessional and somewhat rude. When they finally took a guess at repair cost, they came up with $150!! Seriously people, NO WAY!!! This place is way too expensive! We ended up ordering a brand new trumpet online for $250 with 2 years insurance too! Do your research everyone, don't settle for outrageous prices and bad customer service! read more

Hi all I contact this place to get some classes. For my Daughter, I called and asked about their rates which I thought were reasonable THAT'S WERE THE GOOD PARTS OF THIS PLACE END. These people don't follow up. we took the time to drive there to check them out They set up as for a date for the classes that were supposed to have been at my home ( by the way I was willing to pay for a full hour rather than the standard half hour ) after multiple attempts to reach them they never return calls they reschedule AT LEAST TWICE and they never called back when my wife called to Reschedule FOR A THIRD TIME. Avoid this place LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM AND VERY INCONSIDERATE. I'm in the process of looking for another school. read more

Well let me start off by saying it was a pleasure doing business with these people I was greeted by a young lady who was very knowledgeable and even though she knew wasn't buying anything that day I was still treat like I was spending money..I told her my daughter wanted a guitar she told me br it's best to bring her i told her I would be coming tomorrow with her . My daughter is very shy and seems to have a easier time with girls I asked her if she was going to be working she informed it was her day off and not to worry she let me know a girl would be working unfortunately I got there later than I was supposed to ! however the young man who helped already knew we would be coming for what ever reason but he was a complete class act he was so helpful and helped her pick the perfect guitar for her he could of easily sold me a more expensive one and sold me all kinds of stuff I didn't need .. I'm struggling $$$ like must people on Los Angeles ca..
