Judy is great. You would not go wrong with lessons with her. You can always start with a trial lesson.

My daughter and several of her schoolmates have been going to Miss Judy's class and they enjoy it. Great studio.

They offer so many different classes, and there truly is something for every child. My daughter is enrolled in their Hip Hop and All Stars programs, and she absolutely loves it. She looks forward to class every week and has grown so much, both in skill and in confidence. They also put on two major performances each year, along with smaller showcases throughout the season. It's an amazing setup for kids who are interested in performing and want to build stage confidence in a supportive, encouraging environment.

Classes are very flexible when it comes to scheduling and make ups. We love all the teachers from her piano, dance and voice. I can't thank enough Ms. Aurora and Ms Lulu for trusting Amelia's as well as to her teachers. My daughter started to gain confidence not just in performing but in speaking in public in which she carries over academically. Being one of the members of the Prodigy girl group is also been a huge part of Amelia's self-confidence and improvements from trusting herself and believing with her group. She started in a Glee group class and now also part of the All Stars group since the class was created. She learns a lot from speaking in front of others, acting up impromptu, dancing, acting and modeling. Of all her classes my daughter's taking since day one she doesn't seem to get tired because she loves the teachers and enjoy being in the lessons and practices. What we love most of this studio is helping their students to their potential not just learning the key in the piano but far more than what you expect. Highly recommended Rising Stars

My experience for my daugther's vocal classes with this music school was very frustrating due to…read moretheir selfish payment system, lack of transparency, and inflexible scheduling policies. Their structure is designed entirely for their own benefit. Unfair and Inflexible Payment System---The school charges $165 per month for 30-minute private lessons, assuming four lessons per month (48 per year). However, during months with fewer lessons--such as the holiday season, when only two lessons are available--they still charge the full amount. They claim to "make up" missed lessons later, but their rescheduling system is ineffective and difficult to use. Make-up lessons are unreliable---These are only scheduled based on teacher availability, which is extremely limited. My assigned teacher was rarely available outside the regular schedule, making it nearly impossible to take the make-up lessons. This is the main reason I decided to stop the lesson, and I believe at end of the year, unhappy issue with them will arise. And recently I realized it is worse than I thought, I am glad I canceled it earlier. Strict and unfair lesson duration policy: The school does not allow extended lessons unless the next student cancels, making it impossible to adjust lesson times to fit students' needs. They only offer 30 min even if I willing to do 45 or 60 min. Unqualified Substitute Teachers---When my assigned teacher was unavailable, the school scheduled me with a different teacher. While they did inform me of the change, I expected the replacement to be equally qualified. However, it was disappointing. I pay $40 around for a 30 min, I do not want to take another chance to waste money, so I clearly told them no more other teacher including group class. And it turns out even worse than my concern. Over time, I accumulated three group class credits instead of private lessons. When I followed up to schedule them, I was suddenly informed that my assigned teacher does not conduct group classes--something they never disclosed upfront. My only options were, Convert three 45-minute group class credits into just one 30-minute private lesson, which was unfair or take the group classes with another teacher, which I had already stated I did not want. If they been honest about this from the beginning, I never would have agreed to the group class setup. When I questioned why I was never told that my teacher doesn't do group lessons, their explanations kept changing--first saying that the teacher simply doesn't teach group classes, then later claiming group lessons are scheduled based on "instructor availability." This dishonest and inconsistent communication was extremely frustrating. When I asked if I could wait until my teacher became available, they could not provide a timeline, I am guessing that my teacher never conducted group lessons in the first place. Anyway, my impression, this school prioritizes its own convenience over the students' needs. Their lack of transparency, rigid payment structure, and poor scheduling system made it a frustrating experience. A fairer system would charge based on actual lessons received rather than enforcing a flat monthly rate regardless of cancellations or holiday breaks or when teacher is not available. At the end of the day, I am less concerned about losing the remaining lessons and more frustrated by the school's unfair treatment, misleading policies, and refusal to take responsibility for their poor scheduling system. I would not recommend this school to anyone looking for a fair, flexible, and student-focused music education.

If you're considering to buy a high quality violin, you definitely should consider coming to this…read moreshop. Mario (the owner) will not only offer you violins that respect your budget, but he will also take the time to make sure that you are completely happy with your instrument before making the purchase. Surrounded by warehouses and other small businesses, Alpha Strings is like this hole-in-the-wall violin shop that you go to in order to get all your musical equipment at competitive prices be it a new violin or just a Dampit humidifier. In addition to offering a great selection of instruments - from student violins, to Ming-Jiang Zhu and Wojciech Topa violins - Mario also brings a large sense of sincerity when working with you. Advertising himself as a violinist first and businessperson second, he strongly encourages you to not only trial his violins but also violins outside of his shop. In this regard, he is more than happy to give his recommendation on a violin that best fits your need - perhaps even if the violin is not from his shop. It is definitely a pleasure working with Mario as he brings in so much honesty and authenticity into the discussion; you can tell that he ultimately wants you to succeed in your musical goals. You don't have to take my word for it though; get in contact with him should you need a new violin and see for yourself that there really are honest businesspeople out there (or in this case, inside a small suite filled with violins). As for me, I came home with a Ming Jiang Zhu violin along with a Codabow bow and a Gewa case. During my trial week and even after making the purchase, Mario would reach out and ask how I'm feeling about the violin/bow; now THAT'S customer service. P.S. As of March 2021, Alpha Strings is allowing people to visit via appointment only due to COVID-19. Definitely e-mail/text before coming in person!

I decided I wanted to invest in a better violin that could last me a lifetime or at least would hold its value should I ever decide on a different violin. I found Alpha Strings online when I was looking at the Ming Jiang Zhu's. The website seemed a bit sparse and the sale price seemed to be too good to be true, so I hesitated for a couple of days. But then I saw a YouTube video where his friend demoed the MJZ G909's. Playing them through my good speakers, I immediately fell in love with one of the violins. So I e-mailed him without high hopes given the quarantine had shut everything down. But he got back to me within an hour and we chatted on the phone. He gave me all the details about the exact violin I was interested in, and patiently answered all of my questions. At the end of the conversation, I was very satisfied with what I was purchasing (investing). He shipped it immediately the same day and I received the violin in 2 days up in the Pacific NW. The violin was well packed and protected in bubble wrap around all the most sensitive places. He said it would come in a dart box so I was expecting just a wooden box, but surprisingly it actually came a simple, but quite usable nylon violin case. It also came with a certificate of authenticity. All in all, it was exactly how Mario described. Okay the website needs a little polishing, but I'll take fair pricing and great customer service over slick marketing. There's a certain online retailer named after a South American rainforest that sells MJZ violins through some seller that Google does not recognize. I'm not going to trust an unidentifiable seller to ship a fragile expensive item like this. All in all, Alpha Strings is a great business, and Mario provides excellent service. Gem of a business and I hope he picks up more visibility online. PS. On top of running an honest business, Mario also apparently runs/organizes a non-profit called Violins Not Violence that gets youngsters involved with learning to play the violin by occasionally giving them one! This alone tells you a lot about Mario's character. If you're in the market for a violin, check out Alpha Strings. You won't be disappointed!
