Peggy and the rest of the team set us up for so much success through these play days, puppy socials, and training classes! We were told our dog needed work because, as a puppy, she had a high chase and prey drive. We were told to separate her from smaller dogs because she got too rough. After a month of Hound Haven puppy socials - both the drop off training sessions on the week days and the weekend play times -- our pup became a demo dog for how to teach the other dogs how to "get small" while playing with the little dogs. Our dog is 2 now, and we give Hound Haven so much praise and credit any time someone compliments our dog. While we've gone to many training classes with her since Hound Haven, we know our girl wouldn't be nearly the sweet, obedient, love bug she is today without Hound Haven teaching her and us the basics as a little pup. We recommend Hound Haven to anyone who asks us about training! Thank you Peggy and team for making such a wonderful learning environment!

We are going to continue to attend her puppy socials when our schedule permits but have heard amazing things about her puppy camps! For COVID protocol, you drop your pup off with her for puppy socials which are $25. You come back 50 mins later but can watch on Zoom. It was awesome for Tucker and we got a brief summary of how he did when we picked him up. It was a good ratio, no more than 10 dogs with 2 trainers.

Nancy is the millennial dog-owner whisperer!…read more That's not to say that all her clients are millennials (they're not). But as someone who considers my pup a fur child, who has his own instagram, whose haircuts are more expensive than my own (the list goes on) ... I felt 100% right at home in Nancy's class! Some highlights: + Small classrooms (4 dogs) with personalized support + Timely emails with homework, videos, and ongoing support from Nancy + Recordings in case you can't make class + Facebook group for playdates It might be a little pricier than other preschools in the area, but believe me, you are getting way more for the value. Nancy's trainings are positive reinforcement.... which means... tons of treats! My pup is pretty small and kept getting sick after class. We thought it was carsickness and Nancy recommended I get a prescription from the vet. However, I noticed he wasn't getting sick on other car rides (even to Sonoma, SF, or Pescadero.. with that windy road). Turns out, it wasn't carsickness.. but too many treats! I had to end up switching to a less heavy treat and rationing them out in class. Just a tip if your pup is experiencing similar symptoms... carsickness might not be the culprit. Nonetheless, my puppy transformed from one who was very afraid of other dogs and humans to a sociable, well-adjusted puppy thanks to Nancy's class. I also met some awesome humans thanks to the puppy playdate Facebook group! Pandemic puppies, look no further!

The amount of care and attention to the pups I have experienced with this Day Care astonishes me. I am thankful there is a place that is very transparent and keeps you updated on how your fur baby is doing day in and day out. The Morgan Hill Location is closed now, but that just gives more attention to the San Jose location. I also heard in the near future there is going to be updating the facility and possibly adding on different services. Thank you for taking care of my family- We Dog Care!

When I got back to pick up my dog, they told me it all went well so I promptly paid and left. It wasn't until 10 minutes into the car ride where I noticed he was pawing his snout and acting strange. When I had a closer look, my dog had a hole on his snout that was starting to scab over with puss coming out of it. Now here is the thing, I completely understand that things happen with dogs and I cannot blame wedogcare for the puncture. But how was it possible that I paid for a service for him to be watched for 4 days and NOONE knew what happened. I immediately drove back to their location to inform them and complain. The wound was scabbing over, so it was not fresh. My poor dog was hurt for god knows how many days, and noone noticed that he was injured? What did they do? Absolutely nothing. They offered me a refund on the grooming service. The best part... my dog was not groomed during his visit. This goes to show how well your pets will be watched at wedogcare, and how much attention they really are giving them. My dog had to get stitches on his face and wear a cone for 2 weeks. Wedogcare told me that the manager would call me to follow up to see if they could "make things right". It's been over a month and no call. I paid $240 for my dog to not be watched; an additional $1,100 vet bill later and no refund or complimentary services offered. All in all, the money does not mean anything to me. I will never use this service again as I just feel so bad my poor dog went several days injured with noone to care for him. Wedogcare, you should be ashamed!

customer testimonial - Wild Things Dog Training We cannot…read morerecommend Wild Things Dog Training highly enough. Shortly after we adopted our puppy, Nakini, a very energetic terrier and working dog mix, we realized that her initial training was a bit beyond our ability to handle on our own. We sent Nakini for an initial 10-day board and train program with Wild Things, which gave her a solid foundation of helpful skills that we could continue to build upon after she came back home. Mikayla has been really in-sync with our training goals, helping Nakini develop valuable tools to temper her high energy in a sustainable and positive way. At the end of her board and train program, Mikayla also did a training session at our home to help reinforce what Nakini had learned with her. Beyond the initial board and train session, Mikayla has continued to support us by providing a welcoming and enriching boarding environment during longer family trips. Nakini has greatly enjoyed each stay with Mikayla and Saturn, benefiting from time spent with her earliest trainer and reinforcing the foundation Mikayla built, all while having lots of fun. We are about to book another boarding session with Mikaya, and have peace of mind knowing that Nakini will be in great hands while we are away. Mikayla's patience, skill, and deep understanding of dog behavior have made a lasting impact on Nakini's progress. We truly appreciate her guidance and wholeheartedly endorse her to anyone looking for attentive and effective dog training. Most sincerely, Patrick & Zoe (& Nakini)

We filed a report with animal control, but they never visited the premises. JPK9 has since ignored all forms of contact I've tried to make (email, phone, instagram, text). The trainer Ryan found Kumo unresponsive in the kennel after being left alone for several hours. He made no attempts to seek veterinary care, and instead made the diagnosis himself and called the owner, Joshua Pennucci who advised to leave his body alone "out of respect". The necropsy later revealed that Kumo's internal temperature was 105.5 over 5 hours after he passed, which the vet estimates would have been around 114 at the time of death. When asked why no veterinary care was sought after, the trainer said he was only following the directions of Mr. Pennucci and when Mr. Pennucci was asked, he said he wasn't there so he could not make the judgment call. The lack of accountability and professionalism was truly horrific. I have been advised by legal counsel not to share this story if I wish to pursue legal action, but after seeing other similar stories this is far too important not to raise. Kumo deserved better.

Johanna came highly recommended by the UC Davis Veterinary Behavior Clinic ( Dr. Gina Davis and…read moreMichele B). Prior to this, we went through two other trainers: one which has signs at the local Pet Food Express (Lori Hamilton) whose practices I find questionable. My Pomeranian has a high fear arousal response and his behavior was made worse with the trainer's use of the prong collar and "snapping" method of using quick forceful tugs (Cesar Milan type of training which is not good for fear reactive dogs). This unfortunately impacted my dog's behavior and his trigger stacking got worse. Our next trainer had good practices, but we did not see any improvement. Enter Johanna: she is highly certified, has extensive experience as a vet technician and also was a dolphin trainer--so she definitely knows operant conditioning and she practices positive/reward techniques. Most importantly: she will tell you up front on how to manage your expectations. Not all dogs will ever be "normal" and rather than giving false hopes and promises, she is very real. After some training and patience, I am so happy to see great progress. Sometimes there are good days and bad days, but you take the good days and take it for what you can. Johanna truly understands sentient creatures and the dogs respond warmly to her. I was so happy to see my dog being able to walk into the pet store today without having a total meltdown! Most dogs like mine will need medications like doggie Prozac ( I was reticent but have come to see it was beneficial-- my dog was able to calm his brain down to absorb Johanna's training and thus regulate his response). I can see him trying to control himself and I work on understanding his limits and not pushing beyond. Of course I had to check-in on my own thoughts and actions. We are very grateful to Johanna and UC Davis! One other thing that helps with fear reactive dogs is training in nosework-- this scent search activity is very beneficial for all dogs: it sharpens cognitive skills, allows for problem solving and they are in their true doggy element.. all while having loads of fun. My dog loves Johanna and gets excited when I say her name; I highly recommend her.
