We purchased a 2 week board & train for our pup. We were so lucky to get matched with Sabrina! She kept in contact with us and sent daily report cards including photos, videos and details on what our little guys was working on and how he was doing. If You Love Your Dog, Do Not Send Them to This Place - This Is a Big Con I am extremely dissatisfied and deeply concerned about my experience with Off Leash K9 Training. My boyfriend Chris & I enrolled our dog Lyla in their 2-week board and train program with the clear expectation that she would return properly trained and in good health. Unfortunately, the outcome was the complete opposite. When my dog was returned to us, she was not trained. The behavioral issues we sought help for remained unresolved and, in some cases, appeared to have worsened. Even more troubling was the significant change in her demeanor. She appeared anxious, withdrawn, and exhibited behaviors consistent with severe emotional distress, resembling PTSD. Additionally, her voice sounded strained, as if she had lost it, which raised immediate concern. The condition she was in at pickup was alarming. She appeared lethargic, her breathing was labored, and she had fluid coming from her nose. Her overall state was so concerning that it seemed as though she may have been drugged. I was told it was because of a "dust storm" which was a lie. This was an extremely distressing experience, and I was genuinely fearful for her well-being. Throughout the program, we were sent update videos that portrayed her as progressing well. However, it became clear that her compliance was likely being achieved through heavy reliance on a training collar, rather than through effective, lasting behavioral training. Following this experience, I made multiple attempts to contact the company to request a refund. Their phone system routes through a third-party answering service, and despite leaving messages, I never received a return call. I also attempted to contact Matt directly using the number he had previously used to communicate with us, but he failed to respond. At the time, my boyfriend and I were already facing serious housing challenges due to our dog's behavioral issues. I personally spoke with Matt and explained that this program was our last hope. He reassured us that our dog would be successfully trained. When that did not happen, we were left with no viable options other than to give up our dog or relocate at significant financial cost. We ultimately had to move, resulting in substantial hardship. This experience was not only financially damaging but also emotionally devastating. I placed my trust in this program during a very difficult time, and instead of receiving the professional service that was promised, my dog's condition and our situation worsened significantly. I cannot recommend this service based on my experience. I will be contacting the better business bureau and consumer affairs, and whoever else I need to contact to tell them about this horrible place. I wish they wouldn't let you put no stars because even one star is too good for this place! read more

Loved this program for our dog. We were helped by Zac (over the phone for scheduling) and Justin (primary dog trainer) who were both superb with answering any questions we had regarding training. Justin did majority of the training and feedback with our OSO and we loved the daily report cards watching his progress slowly grow more n more. Prior to joining off leash we were too afraid to take our dog out around other dogs due to high reactivity. Thankfully that's all been addressed now (with some work and practice on our end) to where we can walk and take our baby anywhere without any hesitation! Thanks so much Justin for helping OSO and providing as much feedback as possible to keep us rest assured that our baby was in good hands! Would definitely recommend this program to others read more

I got my dog back a few days ago from the 2 week board and train program and I could not be happier. There is a noticeable difference in his behavior in the best way. Sabrina did an amazing job, was responsive, kept me informed and loved on my pup like he was hers. While my dog and I still have work to do, this program gave us the tools needed to correct his behavior long term. I am so excited for what the future holds. read more

We had a PAWsome experience with the 2-week Board and Train at Off Leash K9 Training. We would like to thank the team especially Marissa (Veja's trainer) for training and taking great care of our good girl. Since coming home, we have seen positive transformation. We appreciate Marissa for the daily updates that gave us peace of mind, and the comprehensive handover session that taught us exactly how to maintain Veja's training at home. Highly recommend this program to any owner looking to jumpstart their dog's obedience. read more

Luna wasn't acting right and her frenchie stubbornness was becoming too much for us. We needed to tag team in some help. I am glad we found Off Leash K9, this has been a game changer. She has manners, she isn't lunging at everyone, we even went to a brewery together and relaxed with other people. Luna is a changed woman now and we don't have to worry she will nip at any guests. What a relief! Thank you to Sabrina and team for helping Luna with her manners. The commitment to training Luna and daily reports helped ease my worries leaving my baby with them for 2 weeks. read more

Unfortunately after spending $3k for a 2 week board and train my dog did not retain any of the commands other than sit and come (when he feels like coming). He never learned down at all. He doesn't heel. He doesn't place. I asked this business if he was too young at 5 months for the training and they said no yet every daily report from the trainer mentioned Princeton being a puppy and not performing tasks up to par because of how young he was. I feel like the business should have been up front about what the dog would retain given his age and energy level. $3k later and morning walks are still a nightmare. I enjoyed my interactions with the trainer and the people seemed nice but they overpromised and under delivered. read more

Working with Matt, Justin, and the entire Off-Leash team has been an outstanding experience. Their commitment to client support exceeds all expectations, particularly in their willingness to provide accommodations for pick-up and drop-off every single time. Matt, the owner, provided invaluable, personalized guidance during a challenging time. When I was preparing to travel with King Louis, Matt dedicated his own time to walk me through the entire process--from necessary paperwork to the specific airport procedures--which proved to be flawlessly accurate. This level of dedication speaks volumes about the team's commitment to their clients and their dogs' well-being. On the training front, Justin has been phenomenal. After only three to four sessions, the improvements in our seven-month-old Great Pyrenees/Golden Retriever's temperament, commands, and overall behavior are exemplary. Given King Louis's size, control and recall are paramount, and I could not be happier with the precision of his recall and timing. Furthermore, King Louis's consistently excited reaction when he sees Justin is a true testament to the positive and caring environment Justin provides. We wholeheartedly recommend the Off-Leash team. They are truly the best in the industry. read more

We put our Doberman, Lexa, in Off Leash K9 when she was a puppy and joined the 2 week board & train program with Sabrina. Ever since then, we've always been back for board/refreshers once or twice a year whenever we go on long trips. We feel extremely confident that she's getting a lot of enrichment and is safe with all the handlers. Lexa is a very high energy dog and we only trust professional trainers to watch her. Lexa is usually nervous in the beginning when meeting new people. They do a great job making her comfortable and she warms up to everyone eventually. We love how we get report cards daily that tells us how much she ate, if she pooped, and how her day went with photos and a video. We're always looking forward to her report card every evening! All the handlers/trainers do a great job bringing her out every day to train her around distractions. Lexa is usually a very reactive dog. They focused a lot on her engagement with many distractions around (people and dogs). They bring her to malls, parks, stores, and many other places to train. We're always very satisfied with her time at Off Leash K9. Thank you Off Leash K9 team for always taking great care of Lexa!!! She will see you all soon again. read more

Firstly they said they where based out of San Francisco, I had to drop my dog off in Concord to be transported down to Fresno. There was no mentioning of being trained with a shock collar and she was supposed to be off leash trained. When she came back she had red eyes and was very lethargic they said there was a dust storm. No weather report anywhere indicated anything of a dust storm. She had a cough kennel cough She was really sick and she was wearing a collar not to mention she had lost weight and we supplied plenty of food. She had sores on her feet in her legs like she had been in a kennel quite a bit when she got back we were walked around the park and taught how to use electronic collar. They said it wasn't a shock collar, but it left marks in her neck and the whole idea was to have her trained to be able to be locked and behave off leash so I basically spent $3000 for a collar that would just shock her. She came back more timid and skeptical of people like she had PTSD. This facility is got to be the worst I don't recommend it to anyone. They have a third-party answering system. You can't call to complain. They're 100% guarantee is BS. They're just a bunch of lying money stealing bad people even if they honored their guarantee I wouldn't send my dog back there for nothing huge disappointment to say the least my dog came back worse than she left. I depended on them to save her life living at my condo. Well, that didn't work out. Worst Dog Training facility in the United States. I only put one star because I had to put at least one. read more

I'd like to say my pup was pretty well behaved, but would she listen when another dog went by? Or when another person wanted to pet her? Absolutely not she was all about getting the attention where she could. Sabrina did an amazing job with my pup, on day 1 we were able to take her to lunch and on off leash walks without any issue. This just allows for freedom for my sweet pup. Thanks Sabrina for everything you did to get her to where she is at. She is still sweet as ever. read more

I boarded two large dogs and booked this about 3 months in advance. Two days before dropping them off, I found out that they have 1 location in Fresno. But being last minute I had no choice but to proceed. Day of drop off. They were unprepared and brought crates that weren't big for my dogs. Said the other XL crates were not sanitized and ready. Again, booked months in advance and was told they had multiple sites. Training. They did a decent job. I asked they train for their excitement when people come, walking together without pulling and they knew many commands but to reinforce in public. But it was a decent job for 1 full week, I don't see them being able to truly make them off leash with 1 extra week as per their claims. Day of Pick up. They showed their training and it was okay in public setting. Took some time but it wasn't bad but I also expected more. Spent 3 hours going over collar rather than how they do in public and showing that. Major Red Flag. My cane corso testicles were burned. I noticed more closely at home and had to ask the trainer what happened and she claimed from licking...but I reduced out to my family vet and they think it's their sanitizer they use and not drying properly, having my dog sit in that for a long periods of time. I told her this and she said that might be it and another dog had this too. I texted the owner asking why he said they have multiple sites and we will be in the bay area and not Fresno but they drove to Fresno. Asked him why my dog was neglected and not given medical treatment. This doesn't happen from one day. NO RESPONSE. I don't recommend this business, they never follow up after hurting my dog and the owner stopped responding. See the images of my dogs testicles caused by them. read more

I have had two dogs go through the 2 week program. The first was in 2021. Our experience was very positive. We did need to do a couple of follow ups but after that we and the dog were dialed in. Based on that experience we put our second, new dog also through the 2 week program. The experience the second time around was not nearly as good. Back in 2021 we were impressed with the diligent attention from the staff from booking to training. This time not so much. We did not receive a proper hand off from the trainers after the board and train and our follow up refresh was not fruitful at all. The staff did not seem as attentive as they were before and at this point I don't feel like I got value for my money. read more

Our 6 year old Great Pyranese/Pitbull mix completed training with Justin a little over a week ago. We sent Reilly for training because his guarding instincts had really taken over and he had become reactive to loud, fast moving objects ie motorcyles, e-bikes, skateboards, runners, kids as well as other animals. Justin explained that we needed to take charge in those situations so that Reilly didn't have to. Since Reilly has been home, we have been strict with him and consistent with his commands and he is like a whole new dog. Demanding eye contact is not something that we had enforced before and it has helped tremendously. Before training we were anxious to take him out in social settings because we never knew what would set him off. However, yesterday we were able to take him to a car show where there was a lot of activity- a band, kids, lots of people, other dogs, etc and he was a calm, well behaved dog. It was great! We highly recommend Justin for your reactive/aggressive dog. He likes the challenge and wants all dogs to be confident and have a great outdoor life. He took great care of Reilly during the 2 weeks he was there. I know Reilly respects him but has also found a forever friend. read more

I took a chance on this training for my dog Mahina and the results were amazing. Rebecca was Mahina's trainer during her two weeks at the Off Leash K9 training. Rebecca was awesome. She took care of Mahina and it was very patient in teaching me how to use the E collar and the skills that Mahina learned Rebecca was also responsive to my text messages during the week and a phone call or two. It's amazing that you can have this open communication with your trainer. Also what gave me peace of mind is you get a daily report card, pictures, and video I was skeptical at first because of the cost, but it was worth the money. We had the pleasure of working with Sabrina twice so a total of 4 weeks. She has been so good for our 5 month old golden retriever's puppy. She is firm yet gentle and always gives him reinforcement at the end. She was great training us with his commands afterwards. Our puppy is still playful but is so much better at adhering to his boundaries. He really did get attached to Sabrina and remembered her from the first session. She is great with communicating with us daily and providing us w thorough feedback. I look forward to working with her again in the future if we need any boarding. read more

I have a American Bully and German Shepard mix that's 16 months old and 78 pounds, who is very hyper and stubborn. I decided to try American Off Leash K9 training and had the opportunity to have him train with his brother at the same time, who has a different owner. The trainer, Justin, was amazing working with my pup on some of the issues we had with jumping up, recall and controlling his excitement with outside squirls and lizards. He shows now significant control even without using the collar that they trained him on. I strongly recommend using Justin! read more

They say "dogs are man's best friend". No matter if your best friend is a dog or a person, we should all want the best quality of life for them. Not only do we want them to be happy, we also want them to be safe. One way we can help them achieve this is by being a positive influence on them. I became a parent to a very goofy, loving, playful, yet stubborn American bully mix puppy named Zeus. Although I can provide a safe and loving home for him, I was finding it extremely difficult to train him. Thinking he could get away with his cuteness, he wouldn't listen to basic commands. He preferred to test me and make everything a game of "catch me if you can". I knew I needed help and so I reached out to K9. Zeus was assigned to Justin and during our first phone call, just made me feel extremely comfortable. He listened to all my questions and explain things thoroughly to me. Justin had Zeus for two weeks and every day he provided a video and an update of what they worked on as well as Zeus's progress. It was amazing to watch how successful he was with Zeus. I can't recommend Justin enough. In fact, he was kind enough to also accept one of Zeus's brothers; Riley, at the last second. Watching them both being trained was incredible. Justin was always available to answer any questions we had and has remained available even after Zeus's training. It also put me at ease that Zeus looked very comfortable with him. If Zeus ever needs a training refresher or I need to board him, I will definitely be contacting Justin. Because after all, I only want the best for my little guy. thanks! James & Zeus read more

Our dog, Jojo, received excellent training from Off Leask K9's 2-week board & train program with Sabrina as her trainer. We wanted focus on distraction training with Jojo, and solidify her basic obedience commands. After just two weeks, Jojo has become more confident in her commands, and is more focused on us especially during her heel. Sabrina exceeded our expectations, and from start-to-finish, was super attentive with our needs and really treated Jojo like one of her own dogs. She was super descriptive with Jojo's daily reports and supplied plenty of photos/video (which really gave us something to look forward to everyday during Jojo's training). Not only did Sabrina meet our expectations, she went a step forward and was able to do some off leash training with our Husky. We were not comfortable before knowing how Huskies are prone to being escape artists, but now we are more confident in training Jojo to be off leash in certain areas. Sabrina also gave us plenty of information and tips during the debrief after the program, and ensured a smooth transition to continue Jojo's training at home. We couldn't have asked for a better trainer, and we highly recommend Sabrina and Off Leash K9 training for anyone interested. It was definitely worth every penny. Thanks again to Sabrina, and the entire Off Leash K9 Training team! Jojo would be delighted to board with you guys again if ever needed. Regards, Jason and Emily read more

I highly recommend the trainer Christian Uyeda! I have had the pleasure of having Christian Uyeda working with my dog Snow in a 2-week board & train program, during which time I have seen great improvements in my dog's behavior and obedience. Christian has impressive dog behavior knowledge and a deep understanding of effective training methods. Christian could tailor his approach to each dog's unique needs and personality since my family's dogs also joined the program with my Snow. One of the standout qualities of Christian is his professionalism and dedication to his work. He communicates effectively and creates a positive and supportive environment for dogs and their owners. I was particularly impressed with the daily report details, in which they shared how was your dog's day, pictures, videos, feeding, and potty schedule. This way, you watch all the progress and still see your furry friend while he is on board. Christian also gave us practical training techniques to continue reinforcing Snow's progress. THANK YOU, CHRISTIAN! Also, a great thanks to Zak, who was my first point of contact and impression of the company after I inquired about a call on their website. He constantly communicated effectively, and he was the decision point for us. We had interviews with other companies, but it was with Zak that we felt safe and confident to trust our dog in their hands. THANK YOU, ZAK! While every dog owner's experience may be unique, I do not doubt that Christian & Zak will provide the same expertise and dedication to anyone seeking their services. We sent our one year old German Shepherd mix to Off Leash for a two week board and train program and it was amazing! Elias was amazing with Ember and also gave us good training for the E collar, and a few extra tips. We got report cards every night detailing what the training was they did that day, if she ate her food, potty breaks, pictures, and videos. We are going on a vacation in July and we are DEFINITELY sending her back to Off Leash for the boarding and refresher course. Were able to walk Ember with a loose leash now, she sits and holds the situation, and same with down and place. I was able to have her sit, open the front door, walk out and get a box and come back in without her moving, before I gave the break command. That would've NEVER happened before Off Leash worked with her. 10/10, would and will do it again! Thank you to Elias, Sabrina, Matt, Alyssa, and the rest of the Off Leash team! read more

My pup had difficulty passing some required test to start the 2-week board and training program. It took over 3 months after paying. After 2-weeks it is nice to see him listening. He's not 100%, but after continuing his training I am confident that he will be well mannered and less excited. My Dog Jojo is a lot. I'll start there. We've had him since he was a newborn puppy, and hes full of a whole lot of love and a whole lot of evergy. Because both my husband and I primarily work remotely, that energy can sometimes (oftentimes) get misplaced. And, also because we work remotely, he hasn't really gotten used to being alone for more than a few minutes. We needed help, and we found it. I was nervous at first to be away from Jojo for the two week training that we signed him up for. I honestly think it was harder for me than him. But I couldnt have been more confident that he was in the hands of someone who truly cared for him. Courtney was his trainer, and kept me in the loop the entire time. Jojo took a bit longer to get going because he was uneasy about being in the kennel. He even broke out once or twice I was told. But they quickly adjusted to his needs, found a space that he was comfortable with, and progress was quick to follow. I was always a bit wary taking Jojo to places like the beach, because I didn't feel like I was in control of the situation. I never really knew what he was going to do, or how he would react to his surroundings. Now, I can confidently say that we've been to the beach three times and I havent had to worry about him running up to toddlers or elderly women to say hi and scaring them within an inch of thier lives. He's still the same dog. He still has the love. Still has the energy. But now, he knows when and where he can and should focus it. He listens, even without knowing hes in trouble for having just been caught stealing my food from the counter. And we're able to continue making progress with his training. Jojo didnt quite make it off leash, because he had a higher hill to climb than others, but hes definitely progressing, growing, and learning. And so am I. And I wouldnt have been able to start this journey without Courtney and Off Leash. Thank you for helping our four legged son, and for helping my husband and I become a better dog parents. read more

My pup had a good time at his first board and train and I am still in contact with our trainer Dom, who has left the company. I would absolutely work with Dom again. However, it's a total lie that you get a "lifetime guarantee" for these commands. Matt was very responsive when I said I wanted to send my dog back for another board n train. He actually told me it would be 50% off for a refresher or full price for new commands. As soon as I said I just wanted the refresher, I was totally ghosted. Drug fueled operation? Geoff from Off Leash K9 asked me for drugs. We sent our dog to these people and when she returned to us I would describe her as looking traumatized. A while after we got her back, we had her stay overnight at a boarding facility and she was aggressive towards another dog. Then, I received a disturbing text message from Geoff of the K9 Off Leash team (attached) in which he asks me for drugs, then seemingly tries to blame a coworker of his who he manages? Why pin the blame on someone else you work with? Obviously we did not feel like pursuing further training from these people after this incident. THIS IS WHERE THE SCAM BEGINS. They use a third party service for their phone and when you ask for a refund you never actually get someone to talk to that works for K9. The third party people saw "we can try and transfer you to their office, but we don't have any relationship with the people that work at K9". What the hell even is that? I tried to call and email many times to get my money back to no avail. I'm guessing they either are on too much drugs to respond or have already spent my money on drugs. Fucking Shit. read more

We had a very disappointing experience with Off Leash K9 training in Pleasanton. Matt was the coordinator, and while he seemed organized, the actual trainer was inexperienced and unfamiliar with our breed (Lagotto Romagnolo). There was no proper introduction to the e-collar--they simply started using it, which was distressing for our dog. The session was supposed to be an hour, but we barely got 15 minutes of actual training. We also didn't receive the e-collar as part of the package, which felt misleading. We signed up very reluctantly nervous about the collar. Much to our great delight Cooper loves his collar as he is aware that we are about to "go to work" on his skills.
