We have a new 2.5 year old pup who has never lived in a home with a family before. He is sweet and friendly but was difficult to manage on a leash and would boss me around at times. We have been working with Mikayla for 3 months and our dog has learned so much! So have we! I feel so fortunate to have found Mikayla! She has been a godsend after I rescued a 95 pound shepherd mix. I already had a 10-year-old black lab at home who has never lived with another dog, and the rescue dog, who has been through a traumatic experience, has been really dysregulated. I highly recommend for anyone who needs puppy training. I love how personalized training is. When Kiva was first starting out, we asked for help with leash training and recall. When I was having a hard time bringing him out in public and brought it up to her, we had a session at the pet store! Now that we've moved, we asked for help settling him into his new home. I could write an essay about Mikayla and her training, but I'll try to keep it short and simple. Mikayla is an absolute MIRACLE WORKER! I had adopted a heeler mix months ago and had some difficulties with her fear aggression and obedience. She was never socialized so her interactions with other dogs did not go too well. Her anxiety was also off the roofs until I found Mikayla. I was becoming hopeless and felt like giving up... After deciding to invest in some one-on-one and group lessons, I began noticing an immediate difference in our Harley. Her behavior was improving and she was becoming way more confident. Mikayla is incredibly educated on all things dog related. She knows exactly how to handle, teach, and understand different dogs and what WE need work on. At first, I was letting my frustrations get the best of me and constantly blamed Harley for being a bad dog. But with Mikaylas guidance, I soon realized it was a two way partnership between owner and dog to be successful. Eventually, Harley showed so much progress that we were able to start attending group lessons with other dogs. She became less agitated of their presence and we developed a strong bond. With Mikayla's training and advice, I knew what I had to do as a dog mom and how to get Harley to respect me-- listening and doing what she needed. My dog literally transformed. Mikayla is amazing! We got her puppy package for our cavalier spaniel and she has been beyond helpful. His excitement when he sees her speaks for itself. She has great tips and techniques and has been a great guide to training our puppy. All of our friends are impressed with his obedience. He does a great job remaining calm in public, loose leash walking and off leash obedience now. My dog, Shadow, that I adapted as a rescue, is part Germen Shepherd part Malinois (Belgium Shepherd) , and is a very active and hyper dogs as a result. I needed help to help in training Shadow to respond to distance recall, so that I can have friendly visits to the dog park, where other dogs (and their owners) share. Mikayla is a wonderful dog trainer that I highly recommend. When my wife and I adopted our anxiety-ridden terrier/hound mix rescue, Willow, we were not prepared to handle her severe dog reactivity. She would lose her mind anytime she saw another dog (barking, lunging, etc.) and completely ignore us until the dog was out of sight, no matter what we tried or what treats we had to lure her away. Taking Willow to public places was impossible and even our daily walks & potty breaks became stressful chores. We've been working with Mikayla for about a year now. Not only is Willow a much more confident dog, my wife and I are also much better dog owners. Mikayla has equipped us with the tools and knowledge to properly communicate and build a better relationship with our dog. Willow's reactivity has significantly improved and we can enjoy taking her to places we never thought possible beforehand. And of top of all this, Willow LOVES Mikayla. Do not waste your money! Board and train is something that we had considered for a few years before deciding to finally invest in our dog. We were desperate and in need of help from a professional. We reached out to Mikayla in hopes she would train our dog and help us reduce stress in social settings. When we first met Mikayla, she really sold us on the work and progress she would do with our dog. The few times we met with her she seemed knowledgeable and helpful. However, paying someone $4000 to train your dog in their home does requires a lot of trust that they will follow through! It does not guarantee she devotes the time necessary to train our dog. All we received throughout the three weeks our dog was gone were 3 videos which where about 30 seconds to a minute. The bare minimum. I was respecting her business, time and trusted that she was a professional and i didn't want to be over baring by asking for updates. Her initial text to us after having her for three days was asking us to pay for an extra week because our dog wasn't "warming up." The reason we paid her in the first place was to help train our dog, as a trainee shouldn't you know how to work on having a dog warm up to you? When we met to pick up our dog it was clear that she (our dog) wasn't holding her command even with Mikayla. That's something we discussed, and she mentioned it's something we should work on and with time she would improve. The first week of us having her back she lunged at 3 dogs (which she had never done) she was more reactive than before her training. I didn't think it would be possible for our dog to come back worse, but she did. We followed all her tips and advice she gave us and continued to work on it for a week. After a week of not seeing any improvement, we reached out and informed her of what was going on. we were unhappy and didn't see any improvement for a service we paid for. She met up with us once and said she would reach out to meet again. We haven't heard from her in 3 weeks. She is inconsistent, unreliable, and not worth your money. If you are going to go with her, pay for the classes where you can make sure you are getting your money's worth and she isn't just putting your dog in a crate, taking her on a few outings and doing the bare minimum. read more

Our 10 month old Komondor is supposed to be a challenging breed, protective and not too good with strangers and other dogs. We went over crate training, potty training, and socialization. Mikayla was so sweet to my two dogs and patiently walked me through all kind of tips and tricks on how to get them trained.
