I was cleaning up the house and ran into old comics stocks. I remember that I'd been passing by this comics store everyday to work and decided to swing by and asked for my son's comics stock pricing. I was greeted by nice gentleman and fair pricing was quoted for my stash. I was told that when ready to sell, they are open M-S , 10 am to 6 Pm. They usually pay cash on the spot. It was my first time to visit a comics store. I had only seen one in TV show- The Big Bang Theory. The collectible items displayed are fascinating. New released items are on stocks. People who is fond of Marvel , DC action heroes would totally love to hang out in this place. They sell more than comics eg toys, posters, etc etc. Worth visiting the place. read more

There are few places that I am able to walk in and the staff knows my name. But that is not the case here, because I am always greeted and welcomed. The staff are well-knowleged and have good recommendations. I prefer to buy volumes so I'm not in as much as people who buy weeklies, but I do enjoy getting my fix. It's true about the cell phone thing. I have whipped my phone out a few times because sometimes I write notes on my phone of what books I want to buy and other times it's to check the time to see if I still have time on my meter (the side street and front are all metered parking). They can order issues for you or will let you know if something is on back order or 2nd, 3rd, etc. printing. This was very important when I was hunting for Saga. read more

I was taking my nephew for the first time to a comic store and walked in to some gray haired woman telling me she's closing up. I said I had 9 minutes to 6. She said she has her ride picking her up. I've never been treated that way. Her ride could have waited a few minutes. Even after I told her the situation she still shooed us out of the store. Horrible customer service. I won't be going back and that's sad because I used to go there all the time prepandemic. read more

I always had a good shopping experience at Best Comics, come in and browse, the workers are always accommodating. My last visit was with my brother who wanted the popular House of X issues. The front desk was helpful and found us most of the new issues and informed us when the next ones come in. You may have to find parking closer to the train station parking lot and just walk over to the shop. read more

Place is a rip off. Went in and purchased a comic regular price. My wife went in for the same comic ten mins later and the jacked up the price 3x. Their explanation was eBay had it for more money. WTF. Stay away from the old lady working there or just stay away from this place. read more

I love this place. This comic store is my main spot to pick up my comics. The only issue is that I'm also an action figure guy, and it sucks that the store doesn't have a big action figure selection. The staff of this store is extremely friendly and I enjoy seeing there faces. I went for only a couple weeks and they remembered my name. I'm happy to be a constant customer. read more

My favorite comic book store, I literally passed this store on my way home from work a few months back and decided to stop in on a whim. They have a great 10 for 10$ comics section, and the staff is friendly. The customer service is really what kept me coming back, they're knowledgable, helpful and willing to work with you. I completed Death of Superman, AOA, Siege of Darkness, Avengers, X-factor, Alpha Flight, Uncanny X-men runs there. But I can specifically remember shopping there one day, & one of the younger guys was chatting with me as they were closing up, it was raining and he didn't mind explaining value and pricing on their comics. Most businesses rush you out at the end of the day and that really stuck with me. Will definitely be shopping there again soon. First off this place is fantastic. Came into the store 30 mins before closing. I was first given recommendations by a young man whose name I believe was Kyle (Apologies if this is wrong). Then after talking to Nick (the bearded gentleman at the front of the store) about my favorite reads he gave me personal tour of the store with his favorite picks for new series and even stayed late after closing to continue our conversation. Apparently the proprietor has a problem with cell phones....even on a Monday at 10am (when no one is at the store) I just got out of the hospital and was confirming some appointments with my doc, I was told I was being obnoxious and that they don't like cell phones in the store (mind you I was very quiet and confirming my apt's...as in "yes tuesday works thank you.) The owner decided to have it out with me, so I left and told him what I thought (he's an A***h*le) So I get back in the car, he comes to the car and opens the door, and proceeds to lecture me on why he's not the A***h*le (what a loser), and slams my door. I should have probably called the cops but this review makes me feel better. read more

Very friendly staff, all the comics are very organized which i liked. good amount of back issues all for a $1 for 10. if you're into statues, they've got plenty. i would definetely come back here to get all of my new issues. also street parking wasnt too bad, then again, i went during lunch hours. read more

This place is good for statues and the latest issues of the best-selling comics. By "best-selling" I mean its a guarantee that they'll have Spider-man, X-men, Batman and any other popular titles. However, they won't have lower-selling titles like Invincible or Spider-girl. They don't really carry a huge selection of comics. Most of the comics on display are comics from several months ago that they can't seem to get rid of. Also, they don't sell manga. Their toy selection isn't too bad but, when a new series comes out, they don't seem to order many. A friend of mine tried to order items from Previews through them and he rarely ever got anything other than his statues. After several failed orders, he gave up on them. I generally only come here when I need to grab a new toy or the latest issue of a popular series. read more

I set up a pull list here recently, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I had set up the list over the phone, and when I went in, they immediately knew my name from what I had requested. They pull variant covers when possible, which is nice, and are willing to snag comics that start new drive if you love a particular character. They also sell the perfect size board and bag combos, and at a very reasonable price. It's a beautiful store, and a joy to walk into. read more

I went to three comic book shops before I found my new one. I came in for the first time and asked if a comic could be put on hold for a release and when I came in the owner and the cashier both remembered me. i just recently moved to the area and have to say this is a great place to come to old issues are priced at a dollar when you go over 10 comics. the only bad part is that alot of the comics that do come out they tend to jack up the price right away which make me want to go else where. aside from that the staff is very friendly i have gotten calls inside and no one has yet to run after me to tell me i was rude. on holidays they also have great deals at times its half off on all items in the store. read more

I have been shopping here since they were in Queens. I choose to drive the extra distance to this store for my books every week because of the service I receive. The owner and staff really take care of all of their customers whether they are regulars or it is their first time in the store. The staff is also very knowledgeable. This place used to be a great baseball card shop with all kinds of sports memorabilia, but unfortunately it has turned into a big nerds corner with only wrestling and comic crap. OK, not to say collecting baseball cards wasn't a little nerdy, but come on! After moving I was looking for a new shop to buy my comics from. I visited a few other shops in the area and was disappointed with each. Then I found that Best Comics and they really are the best! They have everything I was looking for in a shop, new and recent releases, trades, merch and a great selection of back issues. Even better the the back issues are 10 for $10 as mentioned in another review. I could spend hours going through them (and have)! The staff is great too, very friendly and eager to help and always up for a chat about the latest comic related news (Bat-fleck and the latest Marvel movies) or to make a recommendation. They turned me on to the new Moon Knight series, now one of my favorite books each month! What really sold me, besides the back issues, is the selection of new titles they carry. After living in the city I was afraid they wouldn't have some of the smaller independent titles I had come to love and they had them all. If I didn't see one of the titles I was looking for, all I had to do was ask and they would find it for me ! Really great service. Highly recommended! read more

One of my favorite comic book shops. Every week they're filtering in more back issues which is great since if you get 10 it's only $10. Which is crazy fantastic. I've gotten into so many new stories and new characters just by taking a chance on some obscure back issue. When it's only costing $1, the risk is basically negligible. Not to mention the staff is really friendly, polite, and knowledgeable. If you talk with them a bit they can make suggestions, based on your tastes, that I've found to be spot on. read more

Been going to Best Comics when Tommy had the store in Little Neck, Queens. He's a great guy and always has really cool merchandise at the store. Every statue that I have bought over the years have all been purchased at Best Comics. Now I take my daughters there and they love the store. If you ever need any thing, Tommy will find it. Today is Halloween ComicFest, and this comic shop opens at 10AM. Tommy, the owner, tells me I can't get any comic until 10:30, despite the fact the box with the free comics is sitting right next to him at his desk. I also told him the one I wanted. Did he look to see if he had it? No, he just told me to come back at 10:30. So I wasted a half hour and came back at 10:30, to which the comic I wanted he said "I never ordered that one" - He could have saved me a half hour out of my live by just telling me at 10AM he didn't have that particular comic. He wasted my time because he's a jerk. I also noticed he gives priority service to his friends, even if you're in line ahead of them, he'll service them first. I would recommend NEVER going to this comic book shop, I know I will never go there again. read more

Once again Best Comics is just GREAT!!!! They have a new staff which truly has expanded out the selection available and I even called before I stopped by to see if they had what I was looking for. ok so that guys review isnt very helpful if you're actually into comic books.. hehe. i used to work at best comics for a very short period of time. i was probably just hired because of my looks and ability to sell any comic to any nerdy guy over 200 pounds haha. anyway, the owner, Mr. Best, is kind of cheap and doesnt really care about anyone but himself. I gave him the benefit of the doubt when i first met him, as im sure most people would do, but seeing how he does business, he is just looking for any way to make a buck. They buy your old comics and stuff there SOMETIMES (usually they tell you its too crappy to buy from you) and in most cases they are ripping you off. you're better off coming in for an appraisal from the older gentleman with the english accent (if u can catch him there), and then add some and sell it on Ebay. Hes very cheap, and since I've wrapped his christmas presents for him, he's also a tacky, cheap gift giver (mostly joke/prank/stupid gifts that most people would be just as happy to not receive). He also pisses off everyone who knows him eventually. To finish my review, I would recommend making a quick detour to Grasshoppers on Hillside Ave. Much friendlier and has more to choose from.
