Often I find something new here that I wouldn't elsewhere. This weekend I picked up two GNs, one about Egyptian mythology called Pantheon and one called Year of the Rabbit, a survivor's tale of the Khmer Rouge. I met Gabe too. He was really nice and personable, and was busy talking to customers while also looking at a GN brought in by a local comic artist. It was cool to see him offer feedback to this young guy. At the same time, he was talking to me and parent about which GNs have helped her son get into reading. I'll definitely continue to support this local business.

Funky cool little shop to browse the shelves and purchase comics, graphic novels, independent…read morepublications, and a selection adult underground comics. I visited the store last weekend and had been looking forward to the trip after seeing some nice…read morebooks listed on their website. I made the fairly long drive with cash in hand, ready to buy, so I was disappointed to discover that the books shown online were not actually available in the store. Unfortunately, I also didn't find much in the way of higher-value Silver or Bronze Age keys, either raw or slabbed. If you're looking for reasonably priced mid-grade books or trying to fill some gaps in your collection with non-key back issues, this could definitely be a fun store to browse. However, if you're a collector specifically looking for higher-grade books, significant keys, or more valuable Silver and Bronze Age material, you may be better served looking elsewhere. I just wish the website had made it clearer that the inventory shown online wasn't representative of what was actually available in the store.

Royal Collectibles is the gem of Forest Hills and perhaps Queens. It's a comicbook shop you want…read moreto be a part of. A shop where you know everybody's name and they're just as excited as you are when you talk about collectibles. The owner Mike is the all knowing comic guru, Bob the man you go to when you want to know what's hot and read-worthy, Diane who handles all the logistics and keeps the shop running, Michelle the Funko Queen, Tommy the master of wrestling and Dragonball, and finally Jordana their newest crew member. You walk in and you're immediately hit with a basement/attic air, the kind where there are thousands of books to sort through, statues of all kinds, toys from every era, and a knowledgeable staff waiting to share their passion. Their hours are still limited right now because of COVID so only 5 people are allowed at a time in store. They also do live sales on IG every Wednesday around 630pm EST of the week's newest releases and occasionally Funko and key issues. This is one of the local shops I come often, maybe 2-3 times a month and I spend an embarrassing amount of money here. But I'm happy to because we should support the local shops and people we love.

Yes, I was only looking for a reader set and wasn't expecting pristine collector-grade copies, but I was still taken aback by the condition. If you're looking for old stock to complete a collection, chances are, this is where you want to be. Majority of the warehouse *is* old stock with a smaller section for newly released comics. To me that's not really a downside because if you wanted new comics you could go literally anywhere else. But if you're looking for treasures, hard to find older issues, or just older comics in general that you want to read and don't care about the resale value or the condition it's in, this is the place for you. It's a place for collectors and enthusiasts that are searching because they want to own something, not because they're trying to hold it for resale. As for me, I was able to grab Star Wars IV, V, VI in comic form which I never even knew they made, just $5 each. I think this is a must-visit for comic lovers and I'm SO glad our uncle brought us here. Even if you aren't looking for anything, you really need to go just to see how many comics are on these shelves. It's mind-blowing.
