I really like the layout of the shop, the way the books are displayed, the diverse offerings of holiday books for children, and the way they fit the folding chairs to attend the author event. I stopped by one afternoon and could have spent all afternoon browsing! I was lucky enough to snag a few copies of Demon Slayer, a few Julia Turshen cookbooks, a Christmas movie, and more! The prices were great - I don't think anything was more than a few dollars. The staff was really friendly and pointed out a second Julia Turshen book when they saw one in my pile. The bookstore isn't large, but it's well stocked and very charming (around since 1978, it has the feeling of an old school neighborhood bookstore). Over the past year, the quality of their customer service has declined significantly. The most recent interaction the women who answered the phone had a very nasty unprofessional attitude. This can be extremely dishearten if you are in crisis. It creates the impression that customers are an inconvenience rather than a priority. In addition, their selection of 12-step program literature has become extremely limited. Materials that were once consistently available are now difficult to find, which is particularly disappointing for those who depend on these resources. Overall, the level of service and support no longer reflects the standards they once maintained. Based on my recent experiences, I cannot recommend this business and would suggest looking elsewhere for more reliable assistance and access to materials.
