Instead of apologizing for the error, they attack the customer. Who does this? Considering their high prices and lack of choices, you'd think customer service would be paramount. Instead, they overcharge and insult you to boot. I'd suggest never going there. Try the ACME or Whole Foods instead. The prices are lower and the quality is comparable. Kings doesn't live up to the name. You're not treated like one, but rather like a peasant.

I just want to share my experience having had some Thanksgiving dishes "catered" yesterday…read more First of all, everything comes "chilled" (refrigerated or frozen? when was it made? No idea). This is stated in a note at the bottom of the catering tab. At no point in the description of any food or in the process of placing the order is anything stated about the food not arriving hot and needing to be cooked . Should I have read the website more carefully? Should I have called to ask questions? Maybe. But catering is expected to be cooked fresh and hot imo and if that's not the case it should be clearly and boldly stated at every step of the ordering process. Now I was charged $25 for a delivery fee for a delivery that was taken 1 mile down the road. I expected Kings to make the delivery but it was actually handed off to DoorDash. Now, I order from DoorDash all the time and it would not cost me $25 for that delivery so where did the money go? Also, I have my own DoorDash account and a subscription that allows me not to pay delivery fees. If my food was coming through DoorDash, then let me use MY account and save on the delivery fee! It just doesn't make any sense. The food came cold as stated, which was unexpected and annoying. In addition, two side dishes were sent in plastic containers that were not oven safe. So you have to cook it AND you need pans to cook it in. The turkey came in a very cheap tinfoil pan that was oven safe but it had a hole in the bottom, which leaked all the juices. At first I thought they spilled out from the top, but after placing the turkey in the oven with stock (which I needed to have and fortunately did) it started dripping from the bottom, causing my oven to smoke. Overall, the lack of transparency in this transaction was very disappointing and I feel ripped off, especially concerning the delivery. The food, for what it's worth was good, after I took care of preparing it myself.

When I asked the male sales person how much the enlargement and cleaning would cost, he responded, "Not a lot." Really? This was so unprofessional. Unprofessional Act #2: I had to call to find out when my rings would be ready because no one called me. Unprofessional Act #3. When my husband picked up my rings, the sales woman made a remark about how small the rings/my fingers/hands were. I am an Asian-American woman/mother who has been harassed by many White Women/White Men in Upper Montclair, Montclair, Cedar Grove, Verona & West Orange, NJ for years. It saddens/shocks me to admit the level of racism I have experienced in this area. I was shocked that the sales woman remarked about the size of my rings/fingers after we paid $150.00 to get these rings enlarged/cleaned. The lack of professionalism in Essex County, NJ is disappointing, yet no longer shocks me now that I understand how racist this area is.

Someone can help you do this if needed. Things I love to buy here: granola, eggs, yogurt, pasta, coffee beans, spices, produce, detergent, hand soap, cleaners. They have great items to make a gift basket with. The healthy selections are curated from mostly woman owned businesses I hear. If we all do our part we can cut down on single use plastics. I am happy to support this type of business.
