Very Disappointing Experience My wife and I bought a Samsung Frame TV at Best Buy Middletown, NY, and asked for professional installation. The Geek Squad installer made holes in our wall, couldn't finish the job, and blamed the TV. The assistant manager promised to fix the damage and remove the installation charge, but corporate later contradicted everything. Another salesperson later admitted we should never have been sold that model since it wouldn't mount flush to the wall -- which was the only reason we bought it. I called the store for guidance on purchasing a better and more reliable Bluetooth speaker than the Altec Lansing Mini-Hydra for my Amazon Fire Tablet HD 10. I was given excellent advice by David. I made the online purchase and the next morning I arrived early for pickup at the Middletown, NY store. The customer service representative promptly retrieved my paid product and when I mentioned price match as I saw it online after my purchase from Amazon.com for a little less, the representative didn't blink or complain he looked up the product and issued the Price Match difference. Had a 12:20 appointment with geek squad got there at 12 walked around till appointment. When I went to the desk they told me 3 people were ahead of me and it would be 25 minutes more. No problem they were running late. That is until 12:45 when I was still waiting and no one was even acknowledging me. Then the lady in line behind me who didn't have an appointment was asked why she was there. Her daughter broke her iPad and she wanted it fixed, needless to say her iPad was taken in before me. I then talked to the same lady that helped her and she told me idk what's going on. She went to look and came back and told me I was next and to sit at the counter. While I was at the counter another women came up without an appointment and was helped for her computer. At this point I was getting angry, I could understand the computer because it wouldn't be done that day but that's the second person helped without an appointment. About 5 minutes later the original lady that told me to wait came and told me one more person was before me. At this point it was 1:05 and my iPhone screen replacement was gonna take between 1-2 hours and I had no idea when they were gonna take my phone. I didn't have time to potentially wait another 2 and a half hours so I had to leave. I'm very disappointed with this Best Buy. read more

The service at Best Buy is TERRIBLE. I went online to order a wide screen tv. The site was confusing so I called Best Buy, thinking I was calling the local store. Instead, I was evidently transferred to a SERVICE CENTER. I placed the order and paid for delivery and installation. I was told that the first available delivery date was 2 weeks later, and given a delivery time any time from 7:00AM - 7:00 PM. The rep said that I would receive a call the day prior to delivery with a more precise time of delivery (1 4 hour window). I RECEIVED NO SUCH CALL. So, I called and reached a SERVICE CENTER. The rep there, told me there was a problem, which is that the first SERVICE CENTER rep, mispelled the name of my city. She said she could correct the spelling. I asked her if I would still receive delivery the next day. She assured I would. When I woke up at 7:00 AM the next day to find that I'd still not received a call with the 4 hour delivery window, I called and got a SERVICE CENTER. This time rep informed me that THE SYSTEM automatically changed my delivery date (to a week later) when the previous night's rep corrected the spelling of my address. I asked to speak to a supervisor, and then proceeded to be put online with several SERVICE CENTER reps. None could put me in contact with any person who could correct the issue. Only that they could submit a FORM to the SYSTEM and I would have to wait for a return phone call. By the time I reached a supervisor, I was informed that the SYSTEM had canceled my order and that if I still wanted to buy the tv, I would have to get in line all over again and wait for an available delivery date. I asked if they could help me tell THE SYSTEM that my delivery date should be expedited due to all of these mistakes BEST BUY made with this order. Each rep assured me, that there is no way to reach human who can serve the customer. All they can do is feed information into THE SYSTEM. And I would then be expected for THE SYSTEM to send me a text informing me of its decision. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM BEST BUY UNLESS YOU'RE WILLING TO BE TREATED THIS WAY. read more

I have never bought a large appliance from Best Buy but a few weeks ago I bought a refrigerator. The delivery process was a complete nightmare. I will never buy from Best Buy again. They give you a delivery window of 7 am to 7 pm. Obviously, these hours are very inconvenient for most working folks. I spent the day before the delivery on the phone trying to get through the computerized phone system to a real person to find out if the time could be narrowed down. I was finally told they would call me the evening before. That evening, no one called me, but we received an email stating that the delivery would be between 10:30 and 2:30 - well that's convenient. You can't take half a day off because it is neither morning or afternoon. Once again, I spend too much time trying to get through the computerized phone system to a real person who assured me that I would receive a phone call an hour before the delivery people came. It was clear that these people were not "at" Best Buy or around any people of authority, because I could hear their children crying in the background, so they employ people to answer the phones at home. The day of the delivery, no one called. I work a half hour from my house and my husband could not be home until noon. About 15 minutes prior to them arriving, my husband received a text message. I was so stressed out as I jumped in my car and drove home as fast as I could. My neighbors went out and told them that I was on the way, and someone from Best Buy called my husband and told him they could only wait about 10 minutes. I got home before they left. I showed them how they would have to bring the refrigerator in. They had to go up a small grass bank at the end of our driveway and then take the refrigerator to the back steps on the deck, in order to bring it to the door it would fit through. There was about 2 inches of snow on the ground and the delivery person said he could not do it because of the snow. I explained to him that it looked like a lot of snow because it was a mound of grass underneath, it was not solid snow. He would not listen. He kept taking pictures and calling his supervisor. In the meantime, a real person at Best Buy finally called me and told me he could not force the delivery guy to bring the refrigerator in because he was a third party delivery company. I was very upset. I had spent the night before cleaning everything out of my old refrigerator and moving furniture out of the way to clear a path. I finally told him that I wanted it left in my driveway and I would have someone else get it inside. (They were supposed to set it up as well, but I had no confidence in this man by this time). The Best Buy representative told me to tell him to put it in my driveway, and I told him. He took it out and moved it to my driveway. Then the driver got his supervisor on the phone who told me he did not want to leave it in my driveway. I explained to him that all they had to do was use a hand truck to move it through a couple of inches of snow - it was no big deal but he informed me that they were from NJ and they only had a dolly. It was the flat kind of dolly that has wheels that are 2-3 inches on it. They are not "used" to having to move appliances on anything but pavement. Most delivery people would have a hand cart with large tires on it to move over uneven ground, but this yahoo only had a dolly. Don't ask me how they were going to get it up the stairs. I let the man take it back and I went on line and canceled my order. I figure if these people are so incompetent that they cannot move a refrigerator when it is not on pavement (and don't ask me how they would have gotten it across the lawn, should there had not been snow - that dolly wasn't moving it across grass) then I couldn't count on them to be able to install it correctly or even trust Best Buy because they hired these people. They lost a $2100 purchase because they did want to offend their 3rd party delivery people and tell them to get the refrigerator into my house. My last refrigerator which came from Lowes was delivered by Lowes - I think I'll stick with a company who has their own delivery people. Never again Best Buy. read more

I needed a basic repair for my laptop. After standing in line for around 15 minutes I was finally seen by a rep. He said they do not repair computers even though they have a sign right behind him that says they do. Basically, if it is not under some type of warranty they will not touch it. So they send it off to get fixed and I get the pleasure of paying them to do something that I could do myself. What a bargain. I will never return to them or best buy again. One less customer. CHECK your receipt CAREFULLY - I had to return my laptop (that I bought a few days ago) today and when they processed my refund somehow the customer service guy had charged me $14.99 that was deducted from my refund amount for some sort of services that I did not agree to purchase. I went back to ask a female customer service person who was extremely helpful to ask me to show the original purchase receipt on my phone and she promotly refunded the $14.99 as a seperate return transaction. Thanks to her. I was able to get the "full" refund. read more

You go back to the store and the manager tells you that it's expensive for him to give me a double purchase for the price of one and he ask Ted as though I had stole the game. I did extensive research on what TV that I wanted to buy before coming to this store. I stopped in at 2:30pm on a Friday afternoon in February and the store had a steady flow of customers, but didn't seem too busy. I walked in carrying my old TV and started looking at the TVs on display, sure that a salesperson would come offer assistance. The store seemed severely understaffed of sales reps. The sales reps who were there had their thumbs up their butts. They seemed to be working harder at avoiding doing work than if they were actually working. After around 15 minutes or so, I was lucky enough to make direct eye contact with a sales rep, who almost made it past me by saying, "You're all good, right?" I reeled him in to help me. The employee was actually knowledgeable about the TV setup and about the 3rd party accessories Best Buy offers for that specific model TV. He was nice enough to help me carry the TV and accessories, since I was carrying my old TV. He then took me to Customer Service to get rid of my old TV. Seeing that I just paid over $500 on a new TV, I assumed Best Buy would take my old TV for recycling. Most stores and town dumps take them for free anyway. Nope - not Best Buy. They have a $25 surcharge and they would not waive the fee. Customer Service was trying to help and talked me out of spending the $25 to turn in my old TV. The rep suggested I dump the TV on the side of the road. Not the best advice, but I appreciate them talking me out of wasting $25 on something most places offer for free. Next time I need a TV, I'll be buying it from a company that offers a free exchange -- and from another store that has more adequate staffing. It's only a matter of time before this specific store goes out of business. read more

I purchased a laptop but it wasn't on stock, so I decided to get it shipped to me. They used UPS as their delivery carrier, well the driver delivered my package to the wrong house, ‍. It happens so I figured I just call Best Buy since UPS acknowledged their mistake and will be reimbursed to the store...well I was so wrong. I called Best Buy and explained what had happened with UPS and an investigation was open, I was told "we will call back w/i 48-74hr to finalized the investigation, I waited 4 days but no one called, I called over 5x in a period of 2 weeks, their answer was always "someone will call you back" but still today almost a month later I haven't got a call from no one from Best Buy or a replacement laptop, I went to the store where I purchased the product 3 or 4x but I couldn't be helped because their online support isn't connected to the store ‍. I'm so shocked that Best Buy will put their customers through so much when a delivery was misplaced by the carrier they use. All Best Buy had to do was call UPS and confirm the status or information I was given them but they didn't. I finally when to UPS and got papers confirming that the product was misplaced, when back to Best Buy spoke at this time with a second manager with proof on hand and sims like finally I will get a replacement for the product. I still have to wait another week for it. With this I must say I will never, ever buy from Best Buy again. read more

So I purchased a smart hub refrigerator and was so excited about my purchase when it was delivered, little did I know that happiness would turn into a nightmare the smart hub started having technical issues i scheduled a for a technician to come to my home now the first date they had me miss a day of work to say that they just came to look at the piece and now we need to reschedule again. We reschedule yet again for the tech to say they have the wrong part and dismantled the screen moved it to my deck jimmy rigged the wrong screen to the fridge and left a large amount of broken glass on my deck with my small children around. The tech then told me if I have a problem go to the store to talk to someone. I was in such disbelief with his solution plus the disaster on my deck and now no screen for my fridge. This review is for the Best Buy Mobile at the Galleria. I very rarely have negative things to say about businesses but this is important for you yelpers. I would not trust the sales people here. When renewing my contract for my phone I was given a "free tablet". When asked if it was really free, they said yes. Long story short it was not free as I was charged a monthly fee for a new line. When I took it back for a return, the employee did not process the return properly and I was billed for a full year! When I found out, I went in to discuss the issue with the assistant manager who gave me some attitude and told me there was nothing Best Buy could do. AT&T was a true class act and after talking to their customer service, they refunded the money that I was being charged. Long story short, do not buy a cell phone here! It is very easy to get charged for things that you shouldn't because phone contracts are convoluted. The Geek Squad warranty is a complete rip off! This store shouldn't get one star but yelp forces the one star. I was in Best Buy store today to purchase a few items and I had a question so I decided to ask one of best buys employees for help. The response I got was  the worst I've seen in all my years of dealing with people in customer service. I came across an employee named Mike (the last name I was told they couldn't give me) that works in the Best Buy Store #461, I asked him if I could ask him a question. His response was he's too busy, now it's not what he said it was how he said it. My response was what and he responded back yes that's what it is I'm too busy get someone else to help you. I then spoke to a floor manager named Joel who directed me to an assistant store manager named Amanda who then advised me under corporate rules there wasn't much she could do. I then asked for a regional manager in which I was given the 1-800-Bestbuy number for help. Outside of Joel I feel that the whole situation is being brushed off as routine. At this point Mike needs to be FIRED normally I wouldn't recommend that under todays circumstances, but there are too many people with better attitudes looking for work. read more

Best Buy's customer service has definitely taken a turn for the worse. When a customer orders an item and they send the wrong item, the customer then contacts the local store manager - Sam, who tells the customer that his only option is return the item by mail. As I attempted to explain to Sam this is not an option - it is a directive from his company to me the customer, that the customer on his own time now has to go to the UPS store and mail the item back to his company for the error that was committed by one of his coworkers. Totally disregarding the inconvenience and aggravation that the situation has caused the me - the customer. Especially since I - the customer ordered the product for work. But it gets better, Best Buy refuses to send out the correct item to me - the customer, and tells me that I can reorder the item (pay for it again) and when they receive the items that they sent me - the customer and they conduct their investigation the customer - me - will be refunded normally by the next billing cycle. I have been doing business with Best Buy for over 20 years and have spent thousands of dollars in their stores and this is how they treat me. They make a mistake and it is my fault? Buy Amazon the service is better and faster. Best Buy's Customer service and the managerial team is horrible and blatantly incompetent they are under the impression that the customer works for their company. They have no clue on how to resolve problems. They could have just accepted the items they sent me in error and had my order resent to my home, win - win. No fuss but instead they choose to dictate to their customer basically saying F@#K YOU, too bad, too sad, that's what happens when you do business with Best Buy, deal with it or loss your money. This store is corrupt, I went in to buy a product for $32 dollars, when I got home my debit card was charged an additional $998 dollars. When I confronted the store the next day the cashier immediately got offended an tried to tell me that they have no record of any purchase from the prior day. In march i bought an I-pad complete with pen key board protective cover and warranty. 2 weeks ago it started to act up and go black while in use. I called Best buy and after holding for 18 minutes was told i-pads were by appointment only so i made an appointment for 1130 today . sent my nephew up with the i-pad AND RECIEPT. The GEEK SQUAD said he had to pay 50 bucks and mail it to apple. ( Should have told me that 2 weeks ago) My nephew did not have 50 bucks(its under warranty Shouldn't cost anything) so he brings it back home to me.
