I'm really sorry to have to give out two stars after visiting this place but I'm being generous. During and after the COVID pandemic I've been giving businesses the benefit of the doubt. The first sign that this was going to be different was upon entering. The front desk attendant was engaged in an animated conversation with a fellow worker. Obviously too busy to acknowledge customers. I came over looking at the possibility of purchasing a small sound system for our nonprofit's meetings. I stepped into the sound system area. An employee was looking into infinity and an open Sudoku game on his smartphone. I asked where I could find such sound systems and he seemed to be bothered by my intrusion into his Sudoku. He pointed towards the WiFi section. Not a peep. I thought about their training process at Best Buy and how it could be improved. I then stepped in the WiFi and boom box area. An employee was idling by but when she saw me, she stepped away quickly. The cash register area had three employees engaged in conversation. Not one looking at the floor or customers. I ambled about looking at possibly finding a small sound system. Didn't see any values for what I needed. I left the store after 20 minutes. Not one person approached me. I figure they're not interested in their jobs or their company. Don't think I'll ever be here again. read more

Very difficult to order from, scheduling the Geek Squad was a nightmare and when we called we were constantly getting a machine, who either transferred us to someone with no ability to assist or was the wrong department or it hung up!!! Went to look for new laptops for my wife and I and everything was so different, especially companion ai. Was not sure what that was, so I was able to flag down Liam McIntyre who had just finished with a customer. He was very helpful, knowledgeable and provided recommendations. We ended up going with 2 laptops (same) that he recommended. He was very patient and enjoyable to talk to and made the whole experience easy and stress free. Great employee! read more

Of the dozens of staff standing around chatting with each other, no one came to ask me if I wanted any help. After ten minutes of trying to flag someone down, one person quickly answered my question and then walked away from me without providing any additional support. The tv I went in for was out of stock, I could have been talked into buying any tv in there, but no one working there seemed to care so I left empty handed. In December I ordered a remote car start online and scheduled an installation appointment at the Manchester NH store (30 miles from my home - closest Best Buy that would install) 1/7/2025 - I received an email from Services Experience Manager stating the appointment needed to be rescheduled from afternoon "to book you an early morning appointment to adjust for the delay in booking times." - I have no clue what this means, but an eary morning appointment was very difficult for us. 1/8/2025 - I replied that early morning was difficult and were there any afternoon appointments. - No response 1/10/2025 - I sent a second email asking if it was at all possible to schedule an afternoon appointment - No response 1/15/2025 - Called and asked about the appointment and was told that it was still scheduled for 1/20 at 3:30 1/19/2025 - received an email confirming the appointment along with instructions as to what to expect 1/20/2025 at 7 am received another confirmation. Arrived at the store at 3 pm., where the greeters told us the tech was not there. The store (maybe department) manager came out and asked to schedule a call the next afternoon with her and the tech to find a time that would work for us. She also requested that we not reply to email requests for review because this would reflect badly on the tech and it was not his fault. 1/21/2025 - spoke with tech and store manager, scheduled new appointment for Feb 10. Store Manager offered a $50 discount for our inconvenience - ok, thank you, discount was appreciated 1/27/2025 - received an email from Best Buy cancelling order and a refund on my credit card. Called the direct number the Store Manager had given us. No answer. 2/10 - called and texted the store manager number. Recieved a text back that the appointment was on as scheduled. Arrived at the store and Andy did an amazing job. Start to finish in 45 minutes. Store manager Kathy came to make sure all was well and we were completely satifisfied. Kudo's to in store staff for a job well done. Absolutely ridiculous communication on Best Buys automated part. We reached out and tried to confirm at every step only to be met with silence. read more

I was replacing a microwave that was IN THE WALL over a wall oven. I would not recommend Best Buy for anything other than a basic appliance install (remove the old one and plug in the new one). Anything beyond that is beyond their capabilities. You should consider an appliance store instead. I used State Street Discount Appliances in Portsmouth and they were able to easily take care of my needs. Here's what I experienced at Best Buy: 1) I provided pictures and precise measurements of the hole in the wall above the wall oven where the microwave needed to go. The sales person said because the microwave needed to fit in the in the wall above the oven and below the cupboards above it, he would be more comfortable having the Geek Squad come and do the measurements to make sure they sell me a microwave that would fit perfectly without gaps etc. As a Best Buy Total Tech member, the site survey would be free. 2) They were scheduled to arrive a week later between 11am and 2pm. I received daily texts confirming that but they indicated I needed "to have the the measurements ready for the install". They were coming to DO the measurements, not the install. I could not locate anyone on-line to correct that miscommunication and figured it was just an automation generalization error. 3) On the day to the site survey, I received multiple texts from the Geek Squad pushing off the arrival time continuously until it got to be near the end of the day. I called the person and they said, "Oh its just a measurement visit? I'll get someone else to do that!" A guy arrived and measured the space in the wall for the microwave, took pictures and measured the space they had to play with for the frame kit that would go around the microwave. Then he pitched me on becoming my handy man. 4) He advised I would need to call the Geek Squad to get the measurements and pictures to bring to Best Buy to find a microwave to buy that would fit. So I did a couple days later... 5) The chat bot was useless. The on-line chat person could only give me pleasantries and could not find the Geek Squad measurements. 6) I called the Geek Squad and waited on hold for a half hour. The agent put me on hold for another half hour while they called someone to retrieve my measurements. The person could not even read them off to me because they didn't understand what 16 3/4" meant. "Sixteen thirty four" etc! 7) She emailed me the information and it was an image of a sheet of paper with the measurements of the whole in the wall only. L X W X Depth. a) Those were the EXACT measurements I had given them initially before the site visit! b) The other measurements needed around the outside of the whole were not included, nor were the photos. Total Tech? How about Total Waste of Time. 8) I retook the photos and ALL of the required measurements; developed a detailed PowerPoint presentation with the exact measurements and brought them to Best Buy and spoke to the manager to ensure I would get some thoughtful service. 9) The person who waited on me tried to find a microwave that fit the specs but could only find a microwave that would fit in the hole, but could not find any of the required kit (frame) that was needed. It wasn't because the space for the microwave was an odd space. They just didn't have access to anything but the appliance itself and knew nothing about the kit and could not access that info. So no, "sorry we can't find you one". "Sorry we wasted your time". I went to State Street Appliances in Portsmouth the next day. In a half hour they found a GE PROFILE Microwave that fit in the whole AND the kit needed around it for the wall mount. They even noted that the microwave may need to be raised up a fraction of an inch so it would fit flush (perfectly) in the slot in the wall above the oven. They assigned an installation expert and gave him the microwave, the thing you put under it to fit properly in the wall and advised him to bring a shim in case he needed to adjust where it sat in the hole in the wall to fit perfectly. THEY UNDERSTOOD. So, if you need to do more than just have an appliance delivered and plugged in. Go to an appliance dealer. They understand what needs to happen. read more

I went to Best Buy around 9 am and hadn't been there in a long time. I counted 6 workers. One was at the "customer pick up" I assumed for things ordered online. None of the other registers were open. I had something small I found in the store I wanted to buy so I asked where I should pay if it wasn't a "customer pick up" situation. He says "oh u pay there too." There were already around 10 people in line there was some issue with a it's being picked up. The employee then joined the others standing around doing nothing. Update: I have been turned down multiple times now for inaccurate sticker price. This bestbuy is practicing draw and switch strategies. It is your normal neighborhood bestbuy store. You generally can discover the gadgets that you are searching for and overpay them. The choice of the items is poor contrasted with the stores in Massachusetts. The client service is extremely the biggest issue here. The staff is not knowledgable aside from few. Most don't worry about what the client need. Bought a gaming headset for my son a week prior for his birthday. It sat in the wrapping paper. When he went to use it it didnt work. Went to exchange it 2 weeks later (to the day)and was told there is a 14 day policy. I never got a receipt at time of purchase and expected a normal 30 date return policy since it's not a phone, etc. Assistant manager Sam was condescending and unnecessarily insensitive. Got a printed receipt so I can attempt a warranty exchange. Best Buy clearly doesnt stand behind the products they distribute and their return/exchange policy reflects it. I'll avoid buying here. My interest with Best Buy began in the mid 1990s. At that time, I lived in Upstate NY and Best Buy was GROWING, but not yet in the Northeast. I knew Best Buy had great prices and an awesome selection of electronics, music, and movies. In the mid 1990s, I traveled to the closest Best Buy located in Wilmington, DE (another tax free state) to do some shopping. I was very impressed! There were other electronics chains such as Circuit City, The Wiz, PC Richard & Son, Lechmere, Service Merchandise, and Silo already in the northeast, where I bought most of my electronics, video games, movies, and music. Since 1993, I used to take several day long shopping trips from NY to NH to beat the 8% NY sales tax. I stocked up on lots of electronics from Circuit City (still here today), Lechmere, Caldor (in Bedford), and other stores. GAS WAS CHEAP back then, which made the long shopping trips so worth it. In 1998, Best Buy announced the opening of several new stores in the Boston area including a new Best Buy at the Mall of NH. I stayed informed buying a copy of the Boston Globe, so I could see the Grand Opening flyer. James Taylor had a concert in Boston to kick off the grand openings. I made the 145 mile trek from NY via mountainous backroads to this Best Buy at the Mall of NH. I spent a lot of moola buying lots of music, movies, software, and other cool electronic toys, all tax free! PRESENT: Today, I shop here only if I can get the best deal in the area. I always price compare. I've bought most of my digital cameras from this Best Buy store (536) and lots of CDs and DVDs. My buddy just bought his 52" plasma 1080p HDTV from Best Buy, and now he's the man! I use my Best Buy Reward Zone Card (free to join!) every time. For every 250 points (or $1/pt), you get a $5 certificate! I get coupons in the mail all the time, which has saved me lots of moola, especially on the digital cameras, a 12% discount. The price match policy is also honored when I bring in a competitor ad (Circuit City) with a lower price. The Black Friday sales are insane and I've gotten many unbelievable deals over the years. My only quirk is that the cashiers will try to enroll you in a magazine subscription. No thanks!! Two years ago, I began receiving Sports Illustrated and when I was cancelling the subscription, I found out a different Best Buy (in Little Rock, AR-BOOO!!!) signed me up against my wishes. What do you mean you can't help me? They looked at me like I was crazy, never got to see the manager I asked for and I just walked the 30 whole steps to the Apple store. What dumb business practice. I love the Geek Squad! They are excellent technicians who want to provide outstanding service...and they do! I have been a customer for over 10 years. I started off buying computers elsewhere but having them serviced at Geek Squad. I gradually began buy the computers at Best Buy, and get them set up by the Geek Squad. I now buy the computers on line via BestBuy, arrange for store pickup, and once the come in I set up an appointment with the Geek Squad. The pick up area is along-side the Geek Squad, to it's so quick and easy to grab my order and walk over for my appointment. Today I had service from Justin, who went at least one extra mile to help. This Best Buy is located in Manchester NH attached to The mall of NH. This best buy tends to be a bit busier than other stores because it's attached to the mall. It is very busy during the holiday season and Parking is especially difficult! As you enter the store your greeted by a store employee that says hello and welcome. Then asks if you need any help finding anything. This is very nice given the size of the store and the many different items they sell. The store could be a bit more organized. As you walk the isles there are items scattered and in the wrong places. I believe this is due to the volume of the store. For the most part the store employees were friendly and willing to help especially the greeter. The exception at this store is customer service. They were unfriendly and seemed annoyed. I stopped in the store to pick up a product. When I left there I think I may have left my walking cane. I had to go to this store for it was one of the few that had my product. I called the store and 35 minutes later I got a voice mail telling me to leaver my info. That was on Monday November 29th. Today having not heard From them I called the Manchester store and was immediately rerouted to their customer service. I explained my situation on the missing cane and was told the call would be sent to the Manchester. Store. After waiting 35 minutes another rep came on the line. He listened to my story and swore he would be less than 5 minutes getting back to me. 10 minutes later he clicked in and told me the store was Not answering and he would send me to the Manchester NH store. A couple of minutes later, the line cleared. So what do I do now? I am a certified handicap person who needs his cane. I have NEVER encountered a store that you can't reach. The worst service I have had in a long time. I recently got a car starter for Christmas and had a service scheduled to have it put in by geek squad. After leaving thinking my car was all set come to find out it wasn't. I ended up at the service shop at Hyundai because my car wasn't working, check engine light was on and I couldn't use half the buttons on my dash. Thanks to them they left half the wires unplugged and did a half ass job. Not only that but now I can't even use my car starter. I go to start my car with it, it starts and then shuts off. This store is very strange in its setup. One of the anchor stores for the mall it has an entrance from the outside and one inside by the food court. I found the level of product knowledge to be very week on some of the more basic electronic items. A few examples would be "what are the differences between a few of the Alexa devices?" Another one is "do you know where x product is located?" Much prefer Nashua or Newington for larger purchases requiring assistance. read more

I accidentally purchased a PS5 game instead of a PS4 game and opened it before realizing my mistake. I returned to the store with receipt in hand to exchange it for the PS4 version and was told I could not because I opened it and it violated their anti-piracy policy. The rep told me to trade it in with GameStop instead. I went to Gamestop and the rep there told me it was BS, because they routinely accept returns like that. I ended up trading it in with them and taking a $30 loss. What made this incident more upsetting to me is that 2 weeks prior I had spent over $500 on a new TV at that same Bestbuy. I guess my business wasn't appreciated? Moral of the story: don't go to Best Buy. Go somewhere else where they respect the customer and don't treat you like dirt. read more

The same problem was there ( I could not access programs). I tried calling tech support and was told I needed to talk to the people at the Manchester store. This is the Best Buy Mobile that's just a few stores down from the actual Best Buy within the Mall. I came here last week looking to upgrade my phone. I was very disappointed after standing inside the regular best buy for a good 10 minutes and wasn't even acknowledged so i walked to this one. I was also disappointed because they seem to be very busy with customers and no one else on the floor to check in on customers or let them know roughly what the waiting time was. Again, this time i waited nearly 20 minutes and finally left. one of the sales associate finally asked what i needed help with. I told her to upgrade a phone. she told me to wait about 20 minutes before someone was available. Just then, another customer sitting on the bench got up and yelled at her because he's already waited and thought i was next. She tried to calm him down and asked what was he waiting for. When he told her he was waiting for another associate, who just happen to helped another customer, he got very upset. She informed him that he was next and that she was still helping another customer, and that while they were waiting for things to update, she helped someone else to get the lines going. I thought that was good, but because it wasn't communicated properly, it felt as if one was ignored. There needs to be a better system, especially when it's busy. read more

This Best Buy is a joke! I've been here on numerous occasions TV shopping, stood in home theater department to 45 minutes not being approached by a sale person once. When I asked questions I was treated as though I wasn't going to make a purchase and didn't know anything. I finally ordered a TV through their phone customer service, everything went fine until we received the TV and it was cracked.. Then the replacement TV was cracked. We were thrown back and forth from UPS to best buy and finally brought it into the store for a return. The return desk told us to check the home theater depart while they process the two returns.. Bought a new refrigerator from Best Buy on the last of January. It took me a few weeks before the property manager would install a line to supply water to the new unit. After installing the water line we found a puncture in one of the lines on the fridge. This happened 5 days outside of the return policy for the unit. I went back into the store and they promptly and politely said they would not do anything. I went to the appliance department where they said that it would get fixed, I bought a service plan per the sales persons recommendation and setup a service appointment. I provided the part number to geek squad as it is a color coded tube with a number easy to find on the MFG website. They sent a tech out who told me he would have to order the part after waiting over a week for the appointment. I promptly told him that the part number was easily found and he ordered the part and setup another appointment for the following friday. I got home today to find the incorrect part number and called the 1800 geeksquad number. I provided them with the correct part number and they said they would order the part and setup a new appointment for the 28th 2 months after the purchase date I still have a fridge that is not repaired. I called the store and sat on hold for 37 minutes combine across 4 different calls while having been asked to hold and disconnected they finally put me through to the GM Chris who said he would follow up. I explained my issue and at no point did he display any empathy other than offering to expedite the service to my new refrigerator that to date has yet to function as it should have when purchased. The GM of the store minimized my issue by saying "Well the fried still works it is just the water and ice maker that do not work" I responded with "Correct, fighting to get a new product in the shape it should have been delivered with is frustrating" He explained he would not have an answer today and may not be able to do anything and rushed me off the phone as I am sure he had other things more important that myself. This has been a horrid experience overall, not one single person has even tried to make an exception so far after a long line of me doing what I was asked and having continued bad experiences and being undermined on the phone with Geek Squad as well as with the GM. Overall a very poor experience worth telling others. I will update this if anything is actually done to address the issue but as of right now I can take my money elsewhere. read more

Today a friend and I visited the Best Buy in the mall of New Hampshire and we were looking to purchase computer parts for a newly built pc. During this visit we were looking on a computer minding our own business when we heard a noise coming from a speaker in a area we did not yet visit. A rude employee came up to us and told us to "knock it off we know it's you we have cameras" and then walked away. We were both dumbfounded at this accusation and walked away from were we previously were. The noise continued to play while we were now looking at headphones. An employee named Sean came up to us and told us to leave without listening to us trying to expain we didn't do it. He then rudely stated that we shouldn't come back into this store if we are going to "act like this" and waited for us to leave. I don't recommend visiting this store because they will lie about having you on the cameras, and even when we explained that they could look at them they refused and made us leave. read more

Beware of fine print! Some months ago, they had a sale on TV shows on DVD. If you purchased a certain amount of money's worth of TV show seasons on DVD -- ANY TV show, the sign said -- you would get a small gift card as a kind of rebate. This seemed like a great deal, especially considering I was there to do that very thing anyway. At the register, the woman said the TV shows I chose were not eligible. I asked why, and she said "I don't know. It didn't pop up in the computer, so these are not eligible." It seems they don't train their cashiers about the current sales. I took another employee to the sign and showed him that there was no stipulation about which shows were eligible anywhere on the sign. After much deliberation between about four employees, they had decided that the fine print which dictates this stipulation was not, in fact on the card which hung from the shelves where I took the DVDs from, but instead was in the sales flier they stuff in between newspapers, and pile at the exit of the store. In the flier, which I didn't even know about at the time, is where, apparently, all the fine print was. The shows I purchased were among those excluded (they weren't even knew, they were from the 90's). "So, if I see a sale," I said, "I should go hunt down a flier to read the fine print?" The manager, or assistant manager (not sure which he was) said that there wasn't enough room on the card to put all the fine print -- in fact, there wasn't ANY fine print). So I pointed to the excessively large white space below the large sale text (an empty space about three by ten inches). I told him how ridiculous this is, and how it seems they are just trying to trick customers into getting up to the counter and hoping they are lazy enough to just buy the things anyway. He said nothing but an insincere "sorry." I'll never buy anything from this store again. I'd rather give my money to a more honest competitor. I left very unsatisfied, and beyond angry. read more

We ordered a new phone for my wife, and she went to pick it up at Best Buy in Manchester. The service in the mobile department was deplorable. It took them more than 30 minutes to simply locate her phone, and they where laughing at her. She gave up and left. No new phone. read more

What? Best Buy does Auto Detailing? That is what everyone at work said when I mentioned it. Do they perform a decent job? YES! Gotta be expensive....right? NO! How does 80 Bucks sound for a full interior cleaning including windows, nooks and crannies and shampoo of carpets? Awesome... My 3 kids have left a trail of French Fry Juice, crumbs, pieces, stains, DNA, who-knows-what. Lets get down to it and say that if I was trapped in this car I could suck the food out of the interior to survive for a month....Including Liquids! Gross. Could they get all the stains out, nah. Was I expecting that? No way. Too much ground in grime. What I got was a decent cleaning at an affordable rate. Go to the side where they install car starters, stereos etc and talk with them.
