Was the first guy taking advantage because I look young? Because I'm a woman? Because I wasn't knowledgeable? Or was he simply ignorant? I don't know. But any of those options are troubling.

It first accord after washing our sheets. They looks like some sharp object would be in the drum and pull strands out of the fabric. We checked the drum, stroked over every inch with our hands, used cotton balls to see if anything stuck - nothing! I called customer service (we ordered our washer directly from LG). They told us to run the drum clean cycle 5 times in a row (that's 7.5 hours!) that should solve the problem. We did and the next load of laundry had the same problem. We called LG again, send them pictures as requested, were told they investigate and call back. They never did. Today was the 6th time I called and also send an email to the president. After telling them that I will write this review and post it everywhere I was asked by the supervisor if I use the right cycle to wash my laundry. I am 69 years old and know how to do laundry. Finally I was told he would pass it on to their service center which will contact me to find out if it is a manufactory defect. This goes on now for over 6 weeks. The service center contacted us via text and asked what are the defective parts - how am I supposed to know? The next message was they reach out if they have someone available. I would stay away from LG which is hard to say because we have LG everywhere from fridge to TVs but if something is wrong it is the worse customer service you ever experience.

Unlike a New York public school teacher during covid, the technician got to work. He removed the ice maker assembly and suggested it might need to be replaced. I began mental preparations for taking out a second mortgage, as Viking parts are absurdly expensive. In short order, he determined that the assembly worked fine (pretty impressive for a 20-year old fridge). A piece of food had gotten into it and blocked the water flow. He fixed it, put it back, and I was back in the ice-making business in no time. He could have totally fleeced me, but did not -- restoring my faith in humanity, but not New York's teachers' unions.

When he arrived, he made sure to cover his shoes with blue covers and he was able to quickly diagnose that my oven door needed new hinges and gave me the price, which I agreed to before he then promptly fixed everything.
