Ordered a KitchenAid refrigerator with installation on 12/23. Best Buy confirmed delivery for 12/31 and had me complete multiple pre-delivery checks. The delivery window was narrowed to 10am-2pm, so I stayed home all day. After repeated delays, I was finally told the refrigerator was not on the truck because it was "out of stock"--the first time I was notified, despite emails and app updates still showing it scheduled for delivery. Best Buy somehow had the water installation kit but not the refrigerator, even though they were purchased together. Now I'm being told delivery won't happen until January 16, two weeks later, due to Best Buy's internal failure. I was promised a management follow-up that never happened and later spent nearly 40 minutes on hold trying to get answers. This was a failed promised delivery, poor communication, and no accountability for a major appliance purchase. Management needs to step in and resolve this. read more

I went to Best Buy Chattanooga to purchase the Samsung 7 LTE watch. I specifically asked if I could use it with my own mobile provider. Instead of giving me a clear answer, the associate kept pushing a service plan I didn't want or need. It felt misleading and like they were trying to force a sale rather than actually help me. I ended up buying the watch directly through the Samsung store where the value was best and picked it up at the Gunburral bestbuy location--which took nearly an hour, but at least I got what I actually wanted without the unnecessary hassle. It's unfortunate that I have to write this, but I feel like people would want to know BEFORE doing business with Best Buy. 4 years ago, I moved to the area and made a few large purchases there, TV's and mounts for them specifically. I joined the "Total Membership" program because it was a great deal...about $130 I believe, and it included the Geek Squad coming out to hang the tvs purchased there, or installation of anything purchased there, along with the extra two years protection on items purchased. Over the years, the membership cost has gone up, and the last two years it was $179.99. I have since purchased a LOT of items from Best Buy, kitchen appliances, noise cancelling headphones, and about 8 TV's total over the years, most of which were gifts, but a few for the house. This Christmas I purchased a few more TV's as gifts, one for my son to have in his room, along with the wall mount for it. When I called to schedule the installation, which has always been included for free, I was told it would be $180! I called to speak with customer service, and they were unwilling to honor what they used to do, and said it was no longer included in the $180 yearly membership. I then let them know that I wished to cancel my membership, so it wouldn't renew automatically at the end of this month, and they let me know that would VOID the extra two years protection I had on EVERYTHING I ALREADY PURCHASED! I cancelled anyway, and will not go back there. My COSTCO membership costs $50 a year less, I still get great deals on the electronics, AND the extended warranty/protection is included on anything you purchase there, for free! I would not recommend doing business with Best Buy in the future. read more

The customer service is terrible. I ordered a mop/vac on sale. They canceled the order, they claim through a system error. They still carry the device and their website shows inventory available locally. When I called, they offered to sell it to me a full price. That isn't just shitty customer service, it's fraud. I called back and got someone who agreed to place an order for me at the sale price. I paid for the original order with a Best Buy gift card which I disposed of because I used it for this purchase. So now, I not only don't have the mop / vac, I'm out almost $600 that I paid for it. If this is how Best Buy treats their customers, I am done being a Best Buy customer. read more

If I could give it zero stars, I would. I'm not sure how in today's society you regress in how you handle customer service, but they did. For years if you had a return, you went to the return desk and handled your return, but how do they do it now? Well, I'll tell you, you stand in line for however long it takes to get someone behind the desk to take your issue. And after they go through all that and spend another 15 minutes looking at what you've got going on, they send you to the "geek squad" desk, that's on the other side, saying that that's where they do with the returns now and warranty service. What they don't tell you is that you have to stand in line for the geek squad which in our instance was well over 30 minutes. And once we got to talk to somebody we were told that that line was to wait in another line. So we waited in three lines and didn't get our issue addressed. Then we come to find out that finally when we met with somebody, we had to make an appointment in order to get our warranty that we paid for, taken care of. And that appointment was a week later. Don't buy a computer there if you expect any type of decent warranty. Just buy from the manufacture or an on line seller. I was going to do that but wanted to support a brick and mortor store. Big mistake on my part. I had not bought computer in years and I assumed it would have a 90 day support policy. NOPE. 15 days. I am not saying service is bad (just poor) or the people weren't friendly. Just a caution, they really don't back up their products unless you think 15 days is sufficient. I've purchased 5 so from best buy, have credit with them, etc. I walked up to a mind-bogglingly indifferent female associate more interested in showing off her tats than making a sale. She then asked questions that were obviously constructed to make me write this review. if my daughter wasn't there longing for a phone I would have been out the door. Finally, I was asked if I ever had a T-Mobile account which I haven't. Well, she said there was a fraud error code and the cops were on the way and perhaps I could go to a T-Mobile store and sort it all out. I did. I went to T-Mobile and they pulled up my account and told me I was approved for up to 13 lines. What about the fraud code. They said "what fraud code?" Lions and tigers and electronics oh my! Ever since this Best Buy did a remodel a few years back their service has definitely improved and products much better represented! It definitely feels like a flagship store that you would see around the nation. My father and I were looking for unlocked phones for him as he was going out of the country and they were definitely able to provide them even though he chose not to purchase. It was pretty cool seeing different people located around the store giving demos of new products such as virtual reality, the new Galaxy S9 at the moment and Apple products along with audio and radio equipment. It made me feel like I was in the 90s all over again and I definitely appreciated this. Other than that the store was very well organized and clean which is so overlooked these days but definitely a plus! Coming back here for sure just for the store experience. Thank you Best Buy. I remember years ago when Best Buy first opened in Chattanooga. It was THE place to come to for all your popular electronic needs. They were a little more expensive than some of the other electronic stores but they had more stuff. Over the years though, Walmart has increased their inventory and Amazon has all but eliminated my need to go to either place. On this particular visit to BB though, my daughter and I were in the area and I needed to buy her a gps since she was soon to be leaving for college. I wanted her to have a garmin gps so she wouldn't have to rely on her cell phone for directions and location. We entered the store and successfully dodged the gauntlet of BB sales people, not an easy task, and made our way to the gps isle. We quickly selected what we came to get and made our way to the checkout. We did get hit up by the internet sales lady though. Come on BB, walking through your store is like trying to navigate an ad filled website. We made it to the check where the first question was "may I have your phone number?" and when I said "no", the cashiers attitude changed as if I'd just slapped him. I don't want to give you my number and I don't want to sign up for your rewards program because I don't come in often enough and I hope to never return. Come on BB. I get it, you need sales and stuff to stay alive, but train your people to not be so pushy. It's an electronics store, not a used car lot. read more

I purchased a microwave oven, a Best Buy Exclusive Item, Insignia Model Number NS-MW09SS8, date of manufacture 04/2021, during the Black Friday Sale (11/1021). On Tuesday, 06/21/2022, I turned it on to warm a small plate and sparks and smoke started pouring out from behind a plate on the right side on the inside of the oven. I turned it off and unplugged it. I will not use it again because it is a fire hazard. This microwave was only used to reheat food and pop popcorn for at-home use. It was never abused or damaged. It sits on the counter and has never been moved since I first used it. I expected it to last several years, not several months. Best Buys has a 30 day return policy and will not take it back for a refund or exchange it for a reliable and safe model. This is my first and last purchase of any Best Buy Exclusive product. I recommend that anyone considering a purchase from Best Buy, especially if it is a Best Buy Exclusive product, to shop else where. read more

Made an appointment with the Geek Squad to replace my battery in my IPhone. Drove an hour this morning to arrive for my appointment. Filled out two pages and they took my phone. They asked that I check back in 20 minutes. I check back in and the agent says let me check on your phone. 15 minutes later they tell me it needs a battery! Duh, that's why I'm here, replace the battery. 10 minutes later the agent comes back and says they are out of IPhone batteries and I need to leave them my phone for a couple of days! What planet is this business operating on, how do they stay in business? I then ask to speak to the manager. 10 minutes later, Wendell shows up. I explain my problem and without any emotion in his voice he tells me he is very sorry. I wasted over 3 hours of my day and Manager Weldon is very sorry. Boy, do I feel better now. Coincidentally a couple, dressed much better than us came in and were helped immediately. We spoke to the manager, told him what happened and decided to try Electronics Express in Cleveland TN. Save yourself the headache and make the drive to Cleveland. They treat you with respect, don't try to oversell you, give you sound advice and the prices are the same or lower. I'm not just talking in store service, I am meaning all the way up to their "customer service hotline" if that's what you want to call it. I ordered a monitor in the store from them that was sold out and supposed to ship to me for free in two weeks max. After waiting three weeks and NOT RECEIVING ANYTHING, I called to question. No one could help me? Turns out the best answer I got was "it was lost in the mail" even though they have "tracking numbers" on their orders. I then simply asked for a return or store credit exchange. The lady told me to drive to the store (30 min away) and they would verify with the manager for one. So I did. At the store I was told there was nothing they could do. So I then sat on the phone with customer service via Best Buy's phone for another hour for the guy to tell me I had been lied to and I could only receive a check after a 24 hour investigation has been performed. Well, a week has passed by. I've called everyday since and now I was told he lied, and it would take another two weeks. So, longest story short... I PAID $200 for NOTHING! I purchased a dishwasher and it was supposed to be delivered last Saturday. I was given an eight hour window to wait at home. They sent me an email on Wednesday saying don't forget about Saturday's delivery. He sent me an email on Friday stating tomorrow's the day! I also received a text message on Friday. And then Saturday morning I was told that John was my driver in that my delivery was on the truck. They never delivered my dishwasher. They never called me. When I spoke to them on Sunday they said there were no notes as to why they didn't deliver it. But that a manager would call me on Monday. The manager has not called and it is now Tuesday. I called today and spoke to Lorenzo. Lorenzo said he would look into my problem. He stated I will be on hold 2 to 3 minutes. After approximately three minutes he came back on and said he needed another 2 to 3 minutes. I was then on the call for two hours and seven minutes.
