No customer service skills. Agreed on a 2 hour window for him to show up. Shows up 40 minutes into that 2 hour window and calls me. I'm still at work which is only 6 minutes down the road. Blames me because I didn't text him that I was tied up at work and says I wasted a service call. I told him that I never received a text from him that he was on his way either. How was I to know? Mario responded same day, answered all of my questions and concerns, and scheduled the repair for the next day. He didn't have the part he needed on his truck (washer is 15 yrs old), but left to find/get one, returned in record time and finished the repair. Had a mysterious leak from my fridge that appeared every so often at random intervals. Mario was recommended by a friend. I can not be more pleased with his service - from a quick reply to agree on a date and time, to prompt arrival to diagnosing the issue to a pipe that caused the problem and fixing it. Not an easy job since he had to take the whole freezer section apart from front to back. However, it was accomplished within an hour and half. He is a pleasure to talk with, kept me informed at what he was doing, and I can not more highly recommend him! And, I did not have to take up a second mortgage as his rate was more than fair. I contacted Mario @ Applicance 911 based on the many 5-star reviews he had. Our Cosmo dishwasher was having issues, and after getting him the model and serial number information, he started digging. After doing some research, he contacted me with two possibilities; both of which were expensive. Instead of trying to convince me that he could fix the issue, his suggestion was to purchase a new unit. He even told me which brand was the best (in his opinion). I then had a discussion about some of our other appliances, which I am so grateful to him for his advice. I had experience with Mario and Appliance 911. Our washer was showing a drain error code, which prevented our washer from running or draining some gross grey water that was left mid-cycle. It wasn't the best discovery on a Friday night. I gave Mario a call on Friday night, and he called me first thing Saturday morning. I was lucky that he was working a couple of jobs nearby and could get me in that day. Mario arrived right when he said he would, kept me updated on how things were looking, and he got my washer back up and running within an hour. In my case, there was a small nail from a recent contractor project lodged in a part of the washer, and there was no amount of YouTube videos that would've shown me how to find what Mario did. Best of all, Mario was super friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and fairly priced. I don't love writing sub-par reviews, but my experience with Appliance 911 couldn't have left me more displeased. I caution anyone with an immune-compromised family member, skip Appliance 911 and continue looking. Let's start with the positives: - Quick response on a holiday weekend. The 911 part was accurate, and they were there for me when I needed them. They answered the phone, answered my questions, and were able to make a house call the very next day (bonus points, a holiday week). - Truly seemed to know appliances, talked me through what could be happening by phone and was somewhat thorough in-person. And where they fell short: - If you are social distancing or have an immune-compromised family member, Appliance 911 is not for you. The technician who responded to my home arrived late and was not wearing a mask. From the window, I motioned for him to put one on before coming inside. His response? A major eye roll and then he pulled a dirty, thin, paper mask out of his pocket. Clearly it had been used and re-used, as it was more soiled than his hands were. I apologized and told him my son is immune-compromised. - We had just moved into our home, and our carpet had just been professionally cleaned and was still wet. I had booties ready for him to wear so he did not walk on our white carpet with dirty shoes (it was snowy/muddy outside). Again, an eye roll. - Upon leaving, he verbally expressed his displeasure and disrespect for our family. While I loved their response time, I felt so yucky afterward about this experience and disappointed that after our initial interaction at the door, that I even brought him in the door. Next time, I'll look elsewhere that respects my home and my family in the process. read more

We called to request a service call on our microwave. After hearing its "symptoms", he was honest enough to tell us we would likely be better off getting a new microwave, from a cost perspective, vs. paying a repair bill on a 7-year old unit. Mario came out to look at our dishwasher. He couldn't figure out what was wrong with it so we paid him $85 and he said he'd get back to us in 3 business days to let us us know if he had a solution. He didn't call, I had to call him back. He said he was meeting with a friend that afternoon and would see if the friend knew what the problem was. We never got a call back. My husband called back again to ask if he had a solution and if not, to ask for our money back. Mario never returned his call. Mario came recommended to us from friends who have used him for years. We're incredibly disappointed at the lack of follow up and disappointed that we paid $85 to have someone who basically blew us off. We needed help with a 1969-vintage stove in our travel trailer. We were worried we may have a propane leak. To my dismay, people seemed waaay hesitant to take on the job: I'd already been turned down by a couple of other appliance repair techs in the area when I got hold of Mario. (I'd found his name and info on Nextdoor -- several neighbors were highly complimentary of him.) Fortunately, Mario's attitude was, "A stove's a stove, right?" And anyway, he had experience fixing people's in-home propane stoves out in the mountains. He agreed to come out a couple days later to take a look. Mario showed up right on time. And as it turned out, our stove was functioning just fine. But we know this with full confidence now, because Mario invested time in testing all the connections and ensuring that we truly had nothing to worry about. Peace of mind like that? Priceless. Mario is exactly as the other great reviews describe him as...super friendly, honest and knows exactly what he is doing. This combined with his reasonable prices have made him our go to person whenever we need a repair done. I can't stress his honestly enough....we have a company come in to look at our Wolf stove and they wanted to replace all the burners at a large cost. Great service. Called another company first and they couldn't even diagnose my refrigerator problem for a week and had a $90 diagnostic fee. Called Mario and he told me to troubleshoot some stuff over the phone first. When that didn't work he was at my house the next day, had the part ordered and returned to fix the day after. Great service. Responded quickly and did a proper diagnostic analysis on our fridge, which turns out to be a warranty issue with the manufacturer and Sears. The Sears tech came out first. And despite getting a sealed system leak detection, which is under a 5 year warranty, tried to sell us an extended appliance warranty stating it was a different part that wasn't under warranty, not the sealed system. Be careful when dealing with Sears technicians. read more

We have an old closed system built in KitchenAid refrigerator. We would like to keep this refrigerator as long as possible because we are not ready to update our kitchen. The temperature in the refrigerator and freezer were reading 6 degrees higher than it should. I was told by several other companies they no longer work on closed systems....and then we found Billy with Appliance 911. He diagnosed the problem and replaced our needed part.
