Best Buy is what my wife affectionately refers to as my favorite store! In Albany NY I get treated really good! Did not expect to get the royal treatment on the Cape, though (I did)! Staff was attentive, professional and super helpful... I spent less than $20 this time but was treated every bit as good as when I bought two Nikon SLR cameras, earlier this year! I am simply thrilled that Cape Cod Best Buy gets it! If a retailer wants to have customers, in today's on-line world, they must 1st have excellent customer service! Absolute horrible customer service attitude. 3 weeks ago I dropped off my desktop computer that crashed at geek squad. The person who helped me that night was indeed helpful and knowledgable (no complaints about him). When I went go pick up the computer when it was ready, I walked I to the store and went directly to the geek squad counter. Two employees in geek squad uniforms were each helping a customer so I waited. After one of the 'geeks' finished with his customer went I to the back part of the geek squad area was only seen later when the girl from the customer service desk needed help loading ink cartridge into a printer. So after 40 minutes of patiently waiting I finally said something to the manager who was nearby at the customer service desk doing an exchange for another customer. I simply asked if there was anyone else working the geek squad desk and that I had been waiting for 40 minutes without as much as a hello or even eye contact from a single employee. (The other geek squad employee was still helping the customer from I first got there). The manager barked back at me saying "They're all helping other customers and we're a little busy right now!" I was like what hell? I've been waiting a lot longer than the dude who couldn't figure out his printer ink. It wasn't until the one geek squad employee who was actually working finished with his customer that I finally got any attention from a member of this store's staff. He was helpful and I was out the door shortly after. I couldn't tell you how many employees both geek squad and otherwise who walked right past me during what ended up being 45 minutes without any acknowledgment I was even there. No 'can I help you?' or 'hello'. What horrible attitudes towards treating customers. If the manager can't even handle talking to a customer without sounding like a douche, how can you expect his employees to know any better? read more

We purchased an Apple phone here to replace phone that battery completely died. We were there for 1 hour & walked out being told just call our WiFi provider to transfer phone info from SIM card. Had to drive to an apple store off cape (Derby St.) to get help two days later. We could not get anyone on phone on Best Buy, all automated. We spoke w apple on phone several times for tech assistance. All of this should have been done at purchase at Best Buy. BB Staff wanted me to buy phone- rang me up & sent me out door saying just do this & you are all set. Awful service- I felt so incompetent & was misinformed by the misinformed staff. This review is not about Best Buy Cape Cod but about Best Buy in general. I have found that their in store service to be very good, however, they fail miserably when you try to reach someone on the phone. Rather than drive 20 miles, i called to ask a simple question. I could not reach a human being in any of the three calls I made, Each time i called, i was on hold for over 30 minutes when i finally hung up. When i tried calling a general best number, i got someone who was hard to understand and told me that i had to speak to someone in tech support and told me that he would transfer me. After he put me hold to transfer me, the call was disconnected. I called Staples, spoke with a human being in less than one minute and got my question answered even though i bought my printer at Best Buy. read more

Ordered a LG Studio dishwasher for $1200 from Best Buy on 8/28/19 and was provided a delivery date of 9/10/19. They were a no show and said their ONLY installer is booked 6 weeks out. Rescheduled for 10/10/19 and took a SECOND DAY off of work. The installers showed and asked "where is the dishwasher?"....I assumed you have it! "Nope, they didn't deliver it?". For 6 weeks, Best Buy has had my $1200 and no dishwasher. If they had zero stars, that is what they would get. Absolutely horrible and I strongly suggest the local appliance store. read more

Went in to buy a Mac for 1,299 that I picked out online and they had in stock. It took me all of two minutes for them to pull it off the shelf and make my way to the register, so I would call myself a pretty simple patron considering the size of the purchase. This is where it all went down hill. The apple sales rep told me there was a 100 dollar student discount that Apple always gives which was exciting, but honestly I would have purchased it anyways even if he didn't offer it to me. Turns out BB can't do that discount which they yanked back really quickly, however instead offered a set of free air buds. My thoughts were, wow this is exactly what every student needs a set of Air pods. Needless to say they followed with - "sorry we can't do that either because that SKU is expired as well." Clearly nobody actually knows what is going on since they are the ones offering this stuff and taking it away. All of that I could have lived with except the shitty attitude from Mike in the computer department who clearly just doesn't care. I could tell he had zero interest or concern in what was going on so I started to make some conversation with him. I didn't want to jump to conclusion by assuming. Long story short, when I heard him speaking into his radio with his back turned, discussing the issue with the assistant manager, Jen, I heard him tell her that he doesn't really care and he will let us know we can't have the air pods either. I see why all these place are closing down. Shopping online doesn't have a bad attitude attached which is clearly contagious in this store. I will be shopping anywhere else for my computer even at full price which is what I was expecting to pay when I walked in. read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE OF ANY STORE ON CAPE COD. We had a VERY quick, very simple question regarding prepaid phones for our middle schooler. There was only ONE staff person in the phone department. It's just over 2 weeks before Christmas!!!! WTH??? We were 3rd in line to be helped and of COURSE all the people in front of us needed major help, not a quick question. We waited and waited. Finally, I went over to the CUSTOMER SERVICE DESK and the person there - of course - couldn't answer my question. I went back over to the phone department and there was finally another staff member there. My husband asked him our question ... he barely looked up from his own phone to say "Look over there" and then proceeded to ignore us. Ummmm .... YEAH, A---OLE, we **already** "LOOKED OVER THERE" - that's WHY we wanted to ASK if you carried what we were looking for!!!!!! Do not - Do NOT - DO NOT shop at Best Buy in Hyannis!!!!!!!!!!!!! I bought a TV on line did curbside pick up drove home unloaded the TV my son and I opened the box and the TV was damaged I called the store they said of course bring it back my son did - when he was at the store the manager Michael said he refused to take the TV back because the styrofoam was still in tack so there's no way it could have been damaged in the box - umm what ?!? I was on the phone with him he was rude condescending and refused to let me speak to another manager he said he didn't want me taking anyone's time up ! This is a bit of a strange store in general. I come here for the most random things, like SD card readers, phones, and fridges. Fridges, you say? Why yes, fridges. Actually just one fridge. It's a funny thing, when you're a kid you have everything provided for you and you absolutely take it for granted. I never once thought about how much a refrigerator costs. Until I had to buy one for myself. Well, let me tell you, A LOT. We searched high and low, read reviews all over, and finally decided on Best Buy for our fridge due to a sale plus the Geek Squad protection. Their protection is way, way better than Sears. And since we opened a Best Buy card, we got free financing, which is even better. So while yes, I have walked in this store, received 0 help, and walked straight back out (that happened this very weekend actually) they still get 4 stars because when it counts, they pull through. read more

We went in for a universal remote control after going to a few other places without success, a gentleman in the electronics section came over immediately and was able to not only direct us to where they were but help us pick the right one for our setup. I was in another section when a customer, an older gentleman, was agitated and swearing about a toaster. Another employee was able to contain the situation, redirect the customer and assist the customer with his purchase in a calm, respectful manner..which may have been more than that rude customer deserved. We ordered a stove and microwave online and geek squad to install. We are sitting here 6 days after the initial delivery after spending approx. 10-15 hours on the phone with geek squad and still do not have installation complete. We had to hire an electrician to install the stove so that my elderly mother could cook but still do not have the microwave/ventahood installed. Each day we call geek squad and setup an installation apt and the following morning we receive a call saying the order was setup incorrectly. We have been told several times that the district manager Timothy Hawley would call us and we have yet to hear from him. My husband even reached out to him via LinkedIn and geek squad called and left him several voicemails and they also never received a phone call back. There are not enough characters to scratch the surface of our frustration. read more

My rating would be ZERO if allowed. Bought a refrigerator on July 4th (2018) weekend. Finally delivered in early September by J.B. Hunt (Arkansas). Delivery men broke the fridge when they moved the handle incorrectly. I could only use the refrigerator portion until I got a new one in January. Set up delivery for a new one in December. This is a second home for me and I drove up 200+ miles on Friday for a Saturday delivery. Friday evening they called to say they still didn't have the refrigerator I wanted and suggested I pick a different model. I picked a different manufacturer and fridge was delivered January 5. Before unloading the unit, the driver told me I should look at the unit because it was damaged. When I asked why he was bringing me a damaged fridge, he said he told them at the warehouse (?) but they said to bring it anyway. I refused it and went to a local appliance store who promised to deliver it the following Saturday afternoon. I arranged for Best Buy to pick up their unit on that Saturday morning. When the day came, the delivery company called to say that their truck broke down and they wouldn't be there till the afternoon. They arrived shortly after the new fridge was installed. Everyone at the store was lovely and commiserated with me, though the fridge I wanted was elusive, but the delivery company was a nightmare. read more

I scheduled to have a car starter installed as a xmas gift. A few day prior to xmas I was called by the Geek squad installer; he told me that the car starter I purchase had 30 different connections and it was going to take him a long time to install - he offered an exchange for a starter that was cheaper, but I had to go in and exchange. I drove the hour to get there, waited 1/2 hour to speak with him and did the exchange only to find out that it was $100 more expensive. They worked the "numbers" and got it so it was only $20 more. Then when they went to refund the original starter they only credited me for 1/2 the amount. The day the install was scheduled I got there 15 minutes prior to my appointment. The outside door was locked and no one answered my knocking - I went though the main store and spoke to a sale associate, who took me to the Geek squad area, but the door was locked on that side as well, and no one was inside. He then informed me the installer was in the store and went to find him. Ten min. later he informed me that he was out getting parts, but he took my keys and my info and told me he would bring my car in. I left as I was told the install would take 2.75 hours. Upon returning 4 hours later I discovered my car in the same spot I left it in. They had not started the install. When I inquired as to what happened the installer said "This isn't McDonalds". He was rude without any reason to be. I asked for a manager - and demanded my money back - I will NEVER use Best Buy again. Further the car that was in the garage when I dropped my car off was still there - the installer could not get it started - he had actually damaged the car ! My advice: STAY FAR AWAY read more

1 star is way to much for this Best Buy. I work in the electrical trade, an have to fix a lot of geek squads in home wiring stereos. Even had some of those edjects wire a custom stereo cabinet and couldn't find the plug cause the plugs were the same color as the cabinet. So they drilled threw the bottom of cabinet and the floor under that and ran an extension cord to the electrical panel GFI plug. The edjects didn't even check what was under the floor? They ended up nicking some other wiring,which we had to repair and they refuse to repair the damage they caused! At one time I bought a computer from they with an extend warranty within the 8th day it crashed and they wouldn't honor the warranty . Basically the warranty was expense toilet paper. Cause of this 2 things I'll never buy anything at Best Buy,HELL I wouldn't even PISS on this place if it was on FIRE! read more

In desperation when our son at college was having computer issues we signed on to a service plan to the tune of $200 or so. MANY pages of a fine print contract needed signing and in the end it was a complete waste of money. They were never able to fix any of his computer problems. This is classic bait and switch scam on every deal. They promise you appliances at good prices, give you a delivery date, charge your credit card, and whoops....no show two weeks later on delivery day. Not even that, they don't even call you to tell you that they don't have the item while you are waiting all day for delivery!!! Then when you call them, they have the nerve to say that they are going reorder the items and guess what.....they should be there in another two weeks!!! The manager of the store is the worst. He couldn't care less about you or the fact that they are committing fraud by taking your money for products that they know are not going to be there when they promise. The customer service and product delivery at Best Buy is by far the worst. I went to my local store in need of a refrigerator ASAP and sat down with a sales rep for about an hour. We went through all of the options and my one condition was I need one that was in stock that I could have delivered within the next couple days. The sales rep checked their system and said that they could fulfill my request with a certain refrigerator. However, later that day I received an email saying that my refrigerator will not be delivered until July 22, 2016, which is ABSURD considering the sales rep told me it could be delivered within the next couple days. I called customer service to figure out this situation and of course the sales rep at the store was wrong and the product could not be delivered tomorrow. They even gave me such a hard time about canceling the transaction off my credit card!!! The manager was rude and condescending telling me I had "unrealistic expectations" about having it delivered the next couple days, when his OWN company said they could do it. I will NEVER shop at Best Buy again. Save your money people and spend it on a company that actually can deliver what they promise and treat you with respect. read more

I went in looking for an iPad, my one 'must' was a tablet I could manually import photos into. I was told by a sales girl that it was IMPOSSIBLE to do with an Apple iPad. I have always been a Mac person. But I needed to have an import option and the sales girl told me the Samsung was my only option, that Apple dropped the ball on that option. She insisted she knew what she was talking about . She seemed to know a lot about the tablets so I went with her advice . The samsung tablet I purchased was defective so I brought it back and opted to stick with apple and just go for the iPad and decided to just deal with the lack of an import option another way. Bought the iPad Air, the screen started to flash every now and then. Called apple, they told me to return it, it was defective. Waited 20 minutes for someone to come to the customer service desk. At that point I just wanted my money back. They asked me why I was returning it, I told him it was defective and had spoken to Apple already. I told them I wanted my money back and they said no problem , if we have enough in the till...then they slapped an open box sticker on the iPad and put it on the shelf. I told them it was defective and needed to be sent back to apple and he just shrugged his shoulders and said we'll just sell it as an open box item. I went to Apple to get my new iPad Air and when I got home and set it up one of the first emails from Apple I got was an ad for a camera adapter to import photos into my iPad. The sales girl at Best Buy flat out lied to me and the adapter she was going to try to sell me for the Samsung is the same adapter iPad uses. When I first got the iPad from Best Buy I noticed on the shelf there was some open boxed labeled iPads re sealed in plastic as if they were new. Liar - buyer beware.
