We have found a need recently to use this store more than in the past. None of the items we needed at the time were available at a locally owned store or even at other chains at the prices or brands we could get here. Today we needed to pick up an online order in person which is cheaper than paying for shipping and it was nothing that needed installation. The Christmas Day Only price was less expensive than anywhere else . Picking it up was simple. We parked in the free to park lot and walked in with the online "order is ready notification on my phone. With a quick scan it easily retrieved and we were on our way home. In the last 3 years we have purchase a new television with Geek Squad delivery and installation. All went well after a short weather delay for the product getting to the Boulder store, a January snow storm so unavoidable. The week before Christmas, our 20 year old microwave failed. I had suspect since summer that it was close to the end so I had already researched its replacement. I found it available in stock in Boulder in only one store. This was the one so we went and retrieved it and took it home. Savings were again a great deal. It works fine. So now, more so than in the past, this store is kindly to be first on the list for appliance replacements or special prices on brand name electronics. THE BOULDER STORE? LOVE IT! I am a Best Buy Member and I come into the store to get solid advice for things like my son's gaming computer, portable chargers for iPhones/iPads, Nintendo switches, Instant Pot, headphones... The staff are very knowledgeable and have given me great guidance from their own experience. The Geek Squad has been very helpful putting child protections on our devices. I loved Best Buy so much we bought an LG 23 Cu. Ft French Door Refrigerator (LRMVC2306S) in Oct. 2023, despite the 2 month wait for it. I thought I liked the protection plan. It was delivered and installed seamlessly and brilliantly by the best delivery guys I've ever seen. THE BEST BUY PROTECTION PLAN? I DON'T RECOMMEND. Two years after purchase, the fridge suddenly stopped working so I called to get a tech home-visit. The earliest available appointment would be in 8 days. All labor and parts wouldl be covered (and $300 for lost food if I make a claim) but that is the earliest possible date and there is no waiting list. So if someone cancels in those eight days, no one is going to call to provide an earlier appointment. That's a really long time to go without a fridge/freezer! Customer service was easy to get on the phone and answered all my questions, but I am still dismayed by the wait and lack of other options. read more

Update: My most recent experience was with Hunter at Boulder Best Buy. He was very patient in assisting me, and was thorough in finding the solution to my problem!!! Thank you, Hunter! Sydney B., from the National Customer Service team, was so patient while I asked about product details! She guided me through the online process, logging into my account, waiting for a couple of different email verifications, and so forth. She even helped me find out if my Best Buy Credit Card had enough credit for the purchase. My Best Buy Credit Card ended up not having enough space, and I just used my regular debit card. We bou a new computer today $$$ and then added the Total package which includes data transfer from the old computer to the new. We made an appointment and returned to the store with our HP computer mouter. The Geek tech had trouble checking us in even though our name and time were on the display. After several minutes he said that we needed an external drive or flash drive to transfer the data. He wanted to sell us one. After we paid $179 for Total and data transfer. After I complained, the tech said the purchase of the drive was not necessary after all. read more

wow. I used to be a loyal Best Buy customer. This store just has rude managers. I had an issue between the store and Best Buy Customer Service (India). Each place referred me to the other. I was in the store, on my cell phone with India, and the representative asked if I could hand the phone to the store manager. The acting manager, Alex, said no and rudely walked away. I snail mailed the store manager and heard nothing. I finally resolved by filing a BBB complaint. It was resolved nicely by corporate. I've been in to this Best Buy twice in two days. Every time I'm treated promptly and respectfully. No question has been left unanswered and I left with a smile on my face both times. I have found the staff to go above and beyond to help me find just the right accessories for my computer needs. On both occasions multiple team members have chipped in to make sure I not only was buying the right thing, but also that I was getting the best price from what they had to offer. The store is impeccably clean, the uniforms are tidy and neat, and the offerings are vast. By this I mean you could go in and buy gummy bears, a refrigerator, an action figure, a new Apple Watch, and a new phone case all at the same time. While online shopping can be quick and convenient, help from a real live human who values your business and time just can't be beat. read more

The staff who assisted me early this morning with the selection and purchase of a printer could not have been more polite, responsive, helpful . . . well, you get the drift. In setting up my Geek Squad appointment he consulted a manager multiple times to make sure he was doing it correctly---he always apologized for taking his time with questions. Josh gave five star service. That, however, was where my "Valued Customer" status slipped to the bottom of the slide, and my rating tumbled with it. Many hours after my appointment was scheduled and confirmed (and all the prep completed per GS specs), I received a confirmation of an appointment for another day. When I tried to get to the bottom of the unilateral change, I spent over 45 minutes collectively on the phone with very nice people who tried to help, but . . . I drove back to the store where a manager "greeted" me at the door. He threw Josh under the bus, advising that it was too bad he didn't know it was against policy to schedule same day appointments. So, policy being policy . . . . there was no offered solution. The good news is that he was speedy in refunding my card as I slithered out the door, feeling lower than a snake's belly by the customer service I had received--not from the salesperson--but from the way the entire matter was handled past the purchase--no notice, unilateral change, blame the salesman, too bad, so sad. read more

I bought a refrigerator and dishwasher 6/8, they came to install both on 7/13, did not install refrigerator has did not have equip to carry upstairs and apparently did not tell any one as i finally had to go on site and set another appt for 7/19. On 7/19 guy called and said doing a service visit, I told him no was suppose to be a refer install, he apologizes profusely and was going to have manager call which did not happen. I called at close of that day and was told someone would contact me in 24 hrs. did not happen. You have to call National number as store does not take calls was on hold forever and them got hung up on. I am now on hold again so will see. oh and they thanked me for being an elite member i had to laugh. read more

The guy was condescending and ended up recommending the wrong memory card for us to record 4K video (write speed to slow, i learned later on our trip when we tried to use it). Can you believe...this store makes it VERY difficult to give them money. I went in to make my monthly payment on my credit card. I usually pay in cash. This time, I paid with a check. More accurately, I attempted to pay with a check. After running the check through the reader seven times at the first terminal, another employee then proceeded to run the check through four different terminals. This is a preprinted check for an account I have had for 20 years, so nothing unusual about it. Their conclusion: we cannot take this payment. I'm certain they would have dinged me for a late fee if I hadn't paid it on time (it was due in two days). This isn't the first time I have had difficult giving them payment. During the pandemic, I paid with a cashier's check five months in a row. The next time, they refused the cashier's check because of "fraud". Do they honestly believe that someone is going to fraudulently going to *give* money into an incorrect account? The last point is that this is an *electronics* retailer. They cannot use equipment that does something as simple as scanning a bank check? It is incredibly frustrating to do business with this company. read more

Was looking for a product and store says they have 3 in stock, called ahead and was told there were 3 in stock. I asked for help finding them when I got to store location and they couldn't find any and would check in back. watched the cashier, who I just asked, just stand there and talk to another employee about billing then just stood there. Terrible customer service. I bought a work computer here about a year ago and called to ask if they could add additional memory to the computer. After about 5 minutes on hold someone picked up just to tell me they do not do that there, and when I tried to ask further questions, then hung up on me and transferred me to a line that never stopped ringing. 1. Phone service: Best Buy has been trying to eliminate their phone service. You call a specific location and you are automatically directed to their call center and this is after dialing multiple options on the phone. It took me 15 minutes to finally get a hold of the Boulder store only to be greeted by some rude staff. I asked for a real availability of one item because sometimes even if their website says they have 1 , they are sold out.... I was put on hold for 20 minutes. 2. IN store service is a hit or miss. Depends on what kind of kid they hired. Some staff are lazy and few would actually try to help yo ufind something. I think best buy is trying to eliminate their phone customer support. But hey.... it's America.... who cares about quality customer service right? Signed, Fed up customer who refuses to spend $$$ anymore. I loved best buy until I went to this location. Now my loyalty to all of best buy is down the drain. I went to buy a receiver for my new Klipsch R-28 speakers. Was not sure which specific amp would be compatible with my new speakers so I asked the best buy representative in the sound department for a good recommendation. He said that I should get this one receiver that cost $250 and it would work great. Six months after purchase my speakers break. I call up Klipsch (speaker company), they ask me a bunch of questions and then say that the receiver I was using was very far from a compatible one I should be using. I was recommended to buy the wrong receiver from the guy at best buy and now it broke my speakers, which were not cheap. I go to best buy and talk with some rep who calls over the manager. I tell them about my issue and how the best buy guy told me to buy the wrong receiver which ended up breaking my nice speakers. I wanted a refund for the receiver. They looked at each other like I was crazy. One best buy rep (for some reason) wanted to look at the receiver. While opening the original manufacture box he accidentally rips it looks over at the manager thinking he really messed up, and the manager shrugs and says it's fine. I went there to look at laptops, all I wanted them to do was open up a cage so I could buy the laptop, I was there for close to an hour, talked to 4 people and they all said they would get someone to help me no one ever came. Then I stood in the checkout line, where they told me I should just leave because they are too busy to help me. All I wanted them to do was open a case SO I CAN SPEND MONEY AT THE STORE not only are they treating their customers terribly but you can't even buy anything at the store, what's the point. read more

I've been looking for an external hardrive and noticed that Best Buy has a Seagate drive on sale that looks like it would work nicely. I tried phoning the Boulder Best Buy store from about 25 minutes away but apparently they don't have the staff to answer their phones anymore. When calling any store now, and navigating their ridiculous phone system that first asks you for your Best Buy membership number, advises that "do to the higher than normal call volume"....states that it would be more than 10 minutes wait to speak to a In-store employee. After driving most of the distance to the Boulder store, still no answer waiting on hold, I decided to stop to see if the store carried this item. I had difficulty locating an employee and noticed one BB employee talking with a customer having a conversation about prescription eye wear. When there was a low in their conversation I asked "sorry can I interrupt for a moment to ask a quick question," and the young man wearing a pony tail ignored me and turned back to his personal conversation with the customer. Discouraged, but not completely surprised I continued down other aisles looking for those darn hard drives that BB had so cleverly hidden when pony tale followed me advising that he was now available. I told him that he made it very clear that he didn't have time to talk with me. Thanks, but no thanks. Of course the end of this long story was that, they DID NOT, have the Seagate Hardrive in stock and that I wasted my time traveling to this store. And, yes, there are also panhandlers' waiting for you outside asking for money. I did find the same hard drive on Amazon listed for the same price, and with free shipping. I've always disliked this location but tonight was so poor. I went in to buy an unlocked iPhone 12. The kid at the phone desk said they can't sell them unlocked and that even Apple won't sell them unlocked.. Best Buy advertises the unlocked price so I knew that had to untire. We purchased security cameras from Boulder Best Buy. One of the cameras is having issues, fell apart, and I went into the store to get help. The manager insisted that I could only deal with the manufacturer as we were beyond the 14 day return policy. A Geek Squad technician tried to help put it back together and lost the spring that holds the case together and I got home without the key that unlocks the case to change the batteries. Leaving the store, I visited with the manager again asking why they sell products if they don't stand behind them. Asked him to get me on the phone with the manufacturer while I was there. He could not find a phone number to contact them. Refused to help. Have purchased TV, computers, phones, etc. at this store and always appreciated the service but store culture has definitely changed. Will not be shopping there. read more

I haven't experienced this horrible of customer service in a while!! I stood in the Mobile department for 40 minutes waiting for assistance. TWICE I had associates pass and ask if I was waiting for help; I answered yes, and they got on their radio to ask for someone....I continued to wait. When the sales associate finally arrived, I smiled and said "how are you?" He replied with "....tired. do you need help?" Then quickly told me that I could probably get a better deal online. I'm not opposed to finding the best deal, but it felt more like the associate just wanted me to leave. Literally, a waste of my evening! read more

I stopped shopping at Best Buy years ago in another state because I'd had so many problems with them. When we moved to Boulder county we began tentatively shopping there again occasionally, still wary. Recently we had a couple of experiences that made us return to full time Best Buy customers, at least in Boulder. First we had an issue that two other Best Buy locations as well as corporate refused to address. We went to the Boulder location and everyone was so nice and helpful, and they got us to the manager who promptly and courteously resolved the issue. While we were there we decided to buy a computer and the staff was knowledgeable and helpful. So we bought more and will be back. The staff and management here won us back after many years of refusing to shop at Best Buy. read more

Don't get anything done to your car here. They were hours late on getting the initial install done. Had to leave my car with them for 3 full separate days to try and fix the problems. Several problems were never really fixed. Management was stand offish, full of excuses and always trying to waste my time explaining un useful information. Just make the stereo work. They gave me a 75$ discount but I finally had to take it to Car toys to have everything fixed for $150. Next time I will go to car toys first. read more

He didn't waste my time, bs, or muck around confused as is common in most retail stores these days. I'm going to repeat another customers words; "Darian - at Geek Squad customer support was awesome! Really appreciate it." I took in three external drives for a data transfer yesterday and Darian is 100% solutions oriented. He has the ability to tear down obstacles, make life easy for customers and he offered suggestions to get around a few challenges before I could - now that's customer service. On July 4th, I spent $1500 at Best Buy which included a 15 inch HP laptop that was one sale. When I got home, I made an appointment with Geek Squad to transfer my files, etc, but the first available date was the afternoon of July 10th, which didn't work for my schedule, so I picked July 11th in the morning. No one told me that I had a pickup deadline, but the reminder emails did say that I had to pick it up by July 10th, which was my fault that I didn't notice. On the morning of the 11th, that computer was gone from "pick up", but they had one "in stock", but it wan no longer on sale, The manager would not give me the in stock one for the sale price, ($50 dollar difference) so I didn't get it. He was a true "corporate" man, not a "customer service" man!. I've purchase over 6 computers from Best Buy over the years, but this will be my last. Still love Geek Squad, though. read more

I used Best Buy for their Geek Squad to extract data from a slightly corrupted external hard drive. I could see files, just not retrieve them. So I went to Best Buy, thinking they were a good company that cared. First off, they forgot to ask for a signature for the device to be exported to their extraction warehouse. So a week later than it should have, the device was sent out. Several weeks later, I receive a call that the device is ready. I ask for the price and after hearing it was 500 dollars I needed jaw replacement. Then, to add insult to injury, I hear its actually 1400 dollars to actually possibly retrieve all the data, but that wasn't even guaranteed. So yea, I just picked it up, I am going to do my best to retrieve data myself. But sheesh, 500 dollars is not just a rip off, it is criminal. In conclusion, avoid Best Buy like it is the epicenter of Covid 19. read more
