I spend 10 minutes waiting for the employees who are help one couple that has no idea what they want to do. Another customer is waiting too. They tell me I have no options and that there is only one car I can rent. The one car isn't even clean. It took like an hour for the whole process of the rental. I ended up leaving late and changing my whole plan because of them. I'm not sure I will ever rent from Hertz after this.

It seems their billion dollar investment in EVs was a massive miscalculation that is forcing them to quickly sell-off their EV inventory for a song as renters still prefer the certainty and perceived reliability of Internal Combustion vehicles. It seems replacement parts for damaged vehicles are almost impossible to come by (even for Hertz) while signing up for charging privileges as a non-owner is both cumbersome and time consuming. Consumers aren't stupid. That said, you can grab a high mileage Model 3 for about 20 grand plus any tax credits that might apply. I wouldn't but for the stout hearted, it sounds like a great deal.
