Amazing! Austin and Morgan know every detail there is to know about the parts of a garage door and how it works and should be handled . I couldn't be happier! Meeting them was like a breath of fresh air. They were trained extremely well! They answered all my questions and covered all my concerns about the door I ordered. I ordered a 4 panel copper door, so I wanted to make sure the purchase would go smoothly. They are patient and well mannered which makes everything so comfortable. They are SMART and knowledgeable. I've used this company 3 times. They are Laguna Beach home owners "go-to" for business. Word gets around about their great service. You will not be disappointed. Austin is a pro with his job along with Morgan. They are 5 star people who represent Bessor Bessor to the highest level of service. read more

Company of deception! They say quote is free but it is not it's almost $200 if you don't have the door installed that very moment or day. I felt pressured to buy a brand new door and guess what? It's not even working! Horrible. This yelp or google review of them is way more accurate than their other 4.9 star with thousands. THIS page is the real reflection of their service as there are same complaints all throughout here. DO NOT GO WITH THEM! Pure greed! There are so many reasonably priced and transparent garage companies out there no need to go through this hassle. They have all these technicians working for them so quality control has gone down hill. read more

Contacted Besser about a new garage door for my home. The two gentlemen who came out looked over my garage and left me with two estimates, one for a metal door and the other for a wood door. As I was having new garage cabinets installed they said they would need to come back once my cabinets were installed to do a final site survey. Once the cabinets were installed I decided a new wood door would be the best looking option. I had Besser out for a final site survey. It revealed they would need to use a special clearance track due to the low 2 x 4 bracing that was in my garage. Built in 1956 my garage did not have a lot of clearance over the door. They also recommended that the door be made an inch shorter than normal to help clear the bracing. That was something they could easily do as the door was built at their shop in Santa Ana. When the installation day arrived, the technicians showed up and dismantled the old door, installed the new door and a double torsion spring system along with a new door opener with camera. Besser returned a second time after the door had been installed and painted to put in the weatherstripping that was painted to match. Top notch customer service here. I absolutely love my new garage door. Thanks Besser! read more

I contacted Besser regarding purchase and installation of a garage door for a house to be listed for sale. I described the circumstances with particularity. They certainly should be aware of the time involved in repairing one residence and moving to another. Regardless, they engaged in deception to gain an appointment for a "free" estimate. It was hardly "free" since they needlessly wasted my time that could have been productively used elsewhere. If they cannot be honest from the get-go, how can I trust them to be honest throughout the transaction? Integrity is everything. I will take my business elsewhere. read more

We recently had Carlos come out and he did an amazing job! From the moment he arrived, he was polite, professional, and clearly explained what he would be doing. He walked me through the full maintenance for both garage doors, completed the work efficiently, and even shared what upkeep may be needed over the next 12 months. Before leaving, he made sure everything was taken care of and asked if I needed anything else. Great service all around definitely recommend! read more

Sensors is not working. My spouse wanted to replace the Genie with a Liftmaster. Well, everyday when I'm going from our home from 11am-6pm it didn't closed the door. Now, if I wanted to closed the door, then I move my car on my driveway, walked to garage wall, push the button and stay until the garage door is closed. Then walking the kitchen, living room, hall front door open and locked the door with my key and walked to my car. ANNOYING. I never had problem with the Genie's sensor, but the new, shiny, wi-fi, expensive--uff! People tell me the sunlight, but come on.. read more

Friendly and professional staff. Quick and reliable service. I've worked with two techs, Ryan and Jacob, both were great.

Serviceman (Eric) was not only knowledgeable but explained what needed to be repaired. Besides repairing the problem, he also performed a safety check. Now our door is functioning again and is a heck of a lot quieter. It's a pleasure to have a serviceman be not only knowledgeable but also friendly. We would highly recommend Besser Garage to anyone who needs their services. read more

An assessment of Service Performed on Wednesday, August 6 I was very impressed with the young fellow who conducted the safety and maintenance check on our garage door. Nathan Arias demonstrated an excellent balance of professionalism and approachability, making the entire experience both comfortable and informative. Personable and friendly, he took the time to clearly explain each step of the work performed, ensuring I understood both the current condition of our garage door and what to expect for its future maintenance. His commitment to clear communication and customer service was outstanding. Overall, Nathan's performance was exemplary, and I am grateful for such high-quality service as I expect from Besser Bros. Yes, I am happy and pleased that we have Besser Bros taking care of our garage door. Thank you. read more

If you are elderly living in the OC, look elsewhere. My mom had Sebastian come out last year to fix our garage door. Unfortunately, she was told to buy a new garage door opener and was UPSOLD on the most expensive unit. After $2500, she never received two remote controls nor an owners manual. I'm not even sure at this point if she got a new unit at all, given how much was missing from her purchase. The tech also placed the wall unit over 6' 5" feet high, which doesn't help most people. It took multiple visits from other techs before anyone even asked where she would like the unit placed. When the wall unit was finally placed where she wanted it, the sticker with the QR code was removed without permission. We called on Monday and Friday to request a paper copy invoice of their last visit along with the proper stickers. A very rude gal named Ashley from the call center refused and told her to look it up on her computer copy. Newsflash BESSER, not all elderly are great with computers. An apology, paper copy of the latest invoice, correct stickers and a printed copy of the owners manual isn't an unreasonable request after cashing our $2500 check! read more

5 star rating for Besser. Nathan arrived on time explained what was needed. Answered all my questions. When you hire Besser ask for Nathan. read more

Didn't go with them. Pricing was way too high. Guy that came by was nice enough but there's a reason they charge for the visit whereas everyone else quotes free. read more

Very thorough and professional. They made a beautiful custom garage door for us and then followed up with an in person meeting to review best practices. read more

Pricing structure less desirable. Charge for coming out, charge for diagnostics, charts for repair parts plus labor, by the time your done you bought a new garage door! Many service , Maintenance, and repair outfits are going this route but consumers are price gouged with this pricing model! We don't want this anymore!!! Cost is rising on everything not repairs too! read more

*UPDATE #2* Very shortly after I posted my updated review with one * star, I was contacted by Besser and they said they would make it right. They sent out a team lead/supervisor at my convenience and communicated in the excellent way I had first appreciated with the company (call/text/reminder/pre-call). Ryan came out and genuinely listened to my concerns and got to work right away with fixing them. Although we had these hiccups, I am raising my review up to five stars because they were very quick to make everything right and I really appreciate that. *UPDATE #1* As you can see, I wrote a glowing review last night on 7/23/25 and one day later, I received photos that show me that the work was shoddy. This is at my rental property, so right now I feel taken advantage of because I wasn't there to inspect the work. I am currently waiting for a call back from a supervisor, to go over the multiple issues that I was made aware of. Byron, your bio says to contact you directly, so please get back to me ASAP. Thanks. Our tenants reported in the late afternoon, that they could not open or close their garage door, so we agreed that they would call you to try and get it repaired. As soon as they made contact with Besser, I was then called to verify that I authorized y'all to come out for the service call. Our tenants were happy to be given a timeframe to come out to diagnose and repair, the very next day! I was sent a text so I knew when the tech was on the way and Sebastian showed up as promised. He diagnosed and was communicative to our tenants about what the issue was, and then he called me and explained everything in detail, as well. I know it's harder to deal with two different people, i.e. a tenant and a homeowner, yet Sebastian never seemed rushed and answered all of my questions over the phone. Sebastian sent photos and estimates to give us options to fix our problem. We agreed on a solution and after the work was done, when there were more issues that came up, he promptly reached back out to me to communicate everything. I promptly received a wonderfully detailed invoice, with the exact total that I was given on the estimate and both our tenants and I were super happy with Sebastian and his work and communication. Everything went great, from the making of the appointment and communication from your office, to how Sebastian went out of the way to make our tenants and me, as the homeowner happy. I would absolutely recommend Besser for your garage door needs. Thank you! read more

I'm working on a client's home and was referred to Besser by Clopay. At first I inquired about Clopay canyon ridge, and after I presented to my client, they wanted something more cost friendly option, which was one step down. They chose Modern Steel Plank option and I was quoted $7,800 for it. I told them I'm a GC and my client has budget of $6,500. It took exactly two weeks just to get this far, because the rep will always say i will get back to you next day and will either forget or not get back to me so I have to keep on following up. I get a call from Nathan, saying it's approved at $6,500 but Clopay discontinued modern steel planks and he can get me something similar, but says it's modern steel. Something seem off so I reached out to Clopay, sure enough to find out it is NOT discontinued. I've asked for some pictures or spec of item they are thinking of, but won't get me any information on it. It was my mistake for relying on this company and now I gotta start all over because something seems off with this company. I've asked for color samples and it's been two weeks and nothing. I just wasted my two weeks for them trying to get back to me end of next day thing. If I was a regular retail client that doesn't know anything I would've paid name brands for an imitation probably. Be aware. I would skip. As being a GC, if something seems off from first meeting, you already know what's coming next. read more

I've used Besser Garage Doors in different homes over the years. They do quality work.

We recently ordered garage doors from Besser and we highly recommend their service. Ryan came out, was very informative and competitive in his pricing and went the extra mile to get the replacement doors installed in a reasonable timeframe. Alvaro did a great job with installation and Richard followed up with an inspection with some minor tweaks to improve performance. Also Besser has a flawless communication system letting you know who is arriving at your home ( complete with a photo and bio) and ETA via text. Oh, did I mention the cookies? Yes, they sent us a dozen cookies in appreciation! Great company, great experience! read more

I am beyond pleased with the work Besser provided. They were responsive immediately, gave me a window of time when the technician would reach out. The technician reached out at the beginning of that window of time. His name is Christian and I suggest you request him because he's a great kid and he knows what he's doing. He was very fair with the price and, I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking to have their garage door fixed. He took about 2 1/2 hours to fix it and walked Tenant through the operations of the lift master 81602. And now everyone is happy and I was glad to give my business to.Besser. I'm telling you, request Christian on your next job because he was very thorough.. I will definitely recommend Besser to all my friends who are looking for work to be done on their garage. Some weeks ago I had called Besser to buy a hinge for my garage door. The review is the 1 star review that you can read for yourself here on the website. About a week later the owner of the company called me and said he had seen my review and he was troubled and sorry for my experience. He said the do have any and all parts for garage doors and that I had been given bad info by whomever I talked to. I felt he was truly apologetic and went so far as to give me his cell phone # and said to call him if I ever needed anything again. I haven't had any practical experience with the company so it wouldn't be fair to rate them with a number of stars. By the same token it isn't fair to give them 1 stair because an uninformed employee gave me the wrong info. So I would like to withdraw my 1 star review and leave it at that. Basically, no review other than the owner seems very sincere in his desire to serve his customers with as much help and expertise as he has to offer. I have been instructed that I must leave a star rating to complete the review so I'll give it a 3 star middle of the road in order to post this review. read more

I've used Besser over the years, but will never use them again. My opener's belt was worn from rubbing and needed to be replaced (which I explained on the phone.) The tech came out and said that it would cost $300 to replace for basically a new rubber band. But, he said he didn't have one so he could sell me the belt and new rod (which has nothing wrong with it) for $600. He could only sell both together, but didn't explain why. I told him I'll go with somebody else. Five minutes later he was back and said that LiftMaster will send my a belt for free. He must have forgotten that. An hour later my belt was replaced by Marvis Garage Doors for less than half of the Besser quote and that included moving the hardware so it no longer rubs. What happened to you, Besser? read more

Just had a Custom Garage Door installed by Besser Bros. and could not be any happier!! From the initial home visit by Byron, to the installation by Eric and his co-worker, Maria in the office and the painter; EVERYONE was very professional and kind. The door turned out exactly like the picture I provided and matches my custom gate perfectly. Due to the age of my house, the garage is smaller than most. A lot of time and adjustments were made to make sure my car would fit!! So happy I went with Besser Bros. I highly recommend them! read more

We have used Besser Bros in the past, but I was so disappointed with them this time. We will never call them again. The company itself was ok to deal with, but I dealt with a shady/dishonest technician. I backed into my garage door (dumb, I know), and the weather strip fell off. I called Besser Bros and asked if they had any idea how much it would cost for them to come out and look at it. I was quoted $65 and they said that if the technician did the repair, they would take the $65 off the repair. They sent a technician - and unfortunately, I can't remember his name (this was in June). He took a look and tried to reinstall the weather strip, but it was bent and he couldn't fix it. He was going to leave and I asked for the invoice so I could pay him and he said it was going to be $240 - for NO repair?!?! I told him that his office told me it would be $65. He hemmed and hawed and said that they had new people working in the office and they probably screwed it up. He then said he would just take the $65. I paid him but I was livid because he had just tried to scam me out of $175!! I never called and lodged a complaint because we left for vacation a few days later and I had surgery and was hospitalized a few weeks after that. I'm now fully recovered and thought I would post a review to let them know about it. They can contact me or look my service call up to verify this. Beware - make sure you have a price before hand or you may get scammed by their technician. read more

Wow, had such a great experience with Besser Bros. & Nick Mendoza yesterday. Garage door would not close & Nick fixed it in a second, also did a service on the garage door and lubed up all parts to keep them running smoothly. He also noticed the wheels were degrading a bit & swapped them out with new ones super quickly. He also took the time & gave me tons of useful information on extending the life of my garage door and parts & recommended a good oil to use on the parts in between the service which I really appreciated. Never felt rushed & got great quality service & excellent customer service on site, thanks guys, will continue to use them for future garage door needs. read more
