Disclaimer: This appears to be a company that most likely has franchisees. This review is specifically for the company that services the Glendora area. So I waited a week to post this review to see if I would ever get a phone call back, but it never happened so this one is for you Leo. The week of thanksgiving I had garage door spring break and contacted this company. They sent someone out the same day, repair was done plus a recommended replacement on another part. No complaints. Pricey, but whatever. Techs were polite, professional. Next day (Thanksgiving), a cable busted. I called to have them come look at it and surprisingly, they were open and said they would send someone out between 2-5. Waited until about 3:30 and got worried and gave them a call. I was told they no techs were going to be able to make it out that day. No call from the company letting me know and im confident if i didn't call, i would have sat there until 5 waiting. I told the dispatcher when I called that I would like someone to come out as soon as possible the next day and that I would like to talk to whoever the manager, owner, supervisor, whoever was in charge so I can let them know what happened with the no-show. They took my info and said they would pass it along. Tech came out the next day, fixed the issue. No complaints. Followed up that same morning about the follow up call with Leo and they confirmed my info. Here we are a week later and no call. This would have been a 4 star review just because of the missed appointment but I dropped it to 3 since Leo didn't bother to follow up. From reading some of the other reviews, sounds like scheduling has been an issue with other customers. Bottom line, you're taking your chances with this company if you need something urgent. If Leo is a made up name that they gave out then I guess Mr Serdoz can address it with his employees. I'm interested in a follow-up call now as much as you were interested in calling me when I asked. GDI provides top-tier service, but at very high prices. We are extremely satisfied with the work and the customer service, but we wish we had shopped around, as many neighbors and friends were shocked that we paid $2900 to have our new system installed (no door included). This also included a great warranty and, hopefully, free 2-year inspections for life. For the high price, we wouldn't recommend them to friends and family; for strangers, we would definitely tell them to check out GDI and compare pricing before agreeing to the work. read more

Our garage spring broke late on Saturday (3/14). Fortunately one of our cars was already outside. Otherwise, both our car would been trapped inside. Landon came to our home the next day (on Sunday no less) in Yorba Linda to replace the spring, drums, beating plates and soft cables the next morning and did an amazing job. I would not trust GDI Garage Door. Years ago, one of my garage door springs broke. My existing spring was size .250, appropriate for a heavy wood panel door. GDI replaced only one spring and replaced it with a smaller .218 spring, leaving the original .250 spring on the other side. I was never told this was incorrect or unsafe. Years later, when my garage stopped working properly, a GDI tech quoted me $3,800+, claiming the prior repairs were just "band-aids," while never acknowledging that GDI installed the wrong size spring in the first place. The mismatched springs left the door unbalanced for years, which ultimately burned out my motor something their tech then blamed on the motor being "cheap." To make matters worse, they attempted to deflect blame by saying my wood panel garage door wasn't painted properly, making it heavier and holding water and stressing the system all while ignoring the fact that they installed the wrong spring size and only replaced one spring in the first place. This lack of transparency and accountability ended up costing me significantly more money to fix correctly later. I won't use them again. read more

SCAM SCAM SCAM. My tenant called the number on the garage door opener, which was "All Right Garage Door." GDI didn't let my tenant know they were a different company and didn't represent themselves accurately. I've used GDI before and got scammed out of over $500. Since the tenant had already called and scheduled a free estimate, I decided to check if the company was still trying to rip off customers with outrageous prices for basic services. The technician came out and quoted $1700 for a new motor in just two minutes. When I mentioned that I could get a motor at Home Depot for $300-$500, the technician offered a $500 discount. Then, he tried to charge $80 for a reprogram "convenience fee," which I told him I wouldn't pay. They haven't changed at all. Still trying to get as much $$ as possible. read more

This company sent out maybe a Damian? Who no showed. I have tenants I'm renting in the service address in question who waited an entire four hour window for them to arrive. I called today to discuss this and see if they can come up with something that resolve this and make the customer happy. They did not. Opposite in fact. I was annoyed but calm and respectful to the receptionist on the phone but she ended up hanging up on any. Most unprofessional thing a phone receptionist can do to a customer. The keypad on my garage door stoped working. I called the number and first I asked them to just send me the instructions to reset it over email, and they did that. They also followed up which I appreciated. When it was clear I needed a technician, I made an appointment on a Saturday at 10am and Spencer was right on time. Shop around! They're nice, but pricey! I usually do some research before I call someone out for something that needs to be repaired. A lot of times, I'll make the repair myself. With this being our garage door and I actually park my cars in the garage, I needed it fixed ASAP. I called them and they were able to respond right away. The technician was very nice and knowledgeable. He replaced both springs and lubed the door in about 45 minutes or less. So, not even an hours worth of labor. I was charged a little under $750 with a year warranty on the parts and 90 days on the labor. Doing some research, I found the parts probably would've cost me less than $250. So essentially, I was charged $550 for the less than an hours worth of work. Shame on me for not taking the time to do the research. Won't happen again. Do your research and shop around. read more

They came out the end of November and quoted me 2000 for a new roll up door, I originally had a wooden door and I paid that day and set up installation the 5th of December. Then they called me the week of the 5th saying the truck was delayed and that they couldn't get to my door until the 16th. The guy came out yesterday and it was the wrong size of door so he had to cut the panels to fit and build a new frame around my garage door. But then he was removing my old door and broke one of the pieces on my motor but said he could fix it. Then when he was done he said that the motor can't be fixed and that it probably wasn't going to be compatible with the new door anyways. I called the company and they had the guy that gave the original quote come out today. He said for a new motor it was going to be 500 but the guy wouldn't be able to come out until next Tuesday. I live in a not great area and I can't have my garage able to be opened manually at any time. People literally walk by and try garages at all hours of the day and night. BUT he had one on his truck that he can install today for 900 and they couldn't just give me a new motor for free even though it was their tech that broke it. So I had to go with the 900 dollar door. I had no choice. The new door is very high tech and not something that I would've chosen for myself as I don't have that kind of money to spare. I just loved how they made it seem like a deal that I was getting this motor. I kindly informed the tech that when he gives a quote and can't see inside the garage that he should put a disclaimer that they may need to install a new motor as the new garage door might not be compatible with the existing motor and bring a new motor with them so the garage won't be accessible for 24 hours. Overall I'm glad it's done and over with and I don't have to deal with this headache anymore but now just deal with the headache of paying off the credit card that I had to put the extra 900 dollars on. Also, I originally called Pioneer Door Inc (as I have used them in the past) and got sent GDI, I'm assuming GDI bought Pioneer but doesn't disclose that to the client. read more

I texted the the picture and the estimate they gave me was about 200 to 300 dollars They sent Tech over on 9/25/2025, then, the Tech started recommending service cost from $1300 to $1800. Even asked for over $900 only to change springs (last 15 years according to him). After I showed him the quote, he said it is cost for one spring. I ended up paying $499 to replace 2 springs. I'm assuming he must've sold his company off and this company acquired them but when you're looking at Yelp and you click on the website, it's a different website.
