Went into this store several months back to look at the fabric and design center for sofas for my modern temp housing units. I met Gilbert & his assistant. The fabric selection was not what I was looking so I decided to look elsewhere. I was very honest with his assistant that I felt he didn't have what I needed. He said he could order what I needed but I realized quickly that it would be too involved and more expensive than what I found in a store in Baton Rouge or over in the Village. I was looking for simple modern European small scale sofas. I actually befriended his assistant as we had a lot in common. We were both in the middle of building homes and she had rental properties so we hit it off. She was working there due to the downturn in the oil/gas industry. She has now returned to work in her industry. After she left I told her that I hope she didn't feel bad that I didn't buy the sofas. I'm actually selling the house and rebuilding where I can buy an additional lot to build 3 more rentals. She said that Gilbert told her after I left that I was not serious about buying from his store, I was just looking for ideas from him. I was amazed that he would say something like this when he only met me for 30 minutes. My father had a custom kitchen/bath business since I was born until he passed. I am fortunate enough to inherit his vision and style. With all of the sites on the internet, I don't need to go into any store for ideas. I can find what them all right on Houzz, Pinterest, Remodalista. My problem is fnding the products in the US because most of what I like is not sold in US. read more
