Cod, Hack or Haddock are some the fishes offers with this local chain take out eatery. We got huge portions Cod, thick chips (fries) all piping hot. Get a sprinkle of salt and splash of vinegar w/lemon and you'll be good to go. The tarter sauce is dill/mayo heavy and really good. The basket is about €14 and well worth it.

Told this was best in town. The fish was cooked to perfection, crispy and meaty. Most of the time you get a lot of batter and a little fish but this was well balanced. Loved the garlic mayo sauce. The chips were okay, it was a mix of hard, soggy, and good. We got the family meal deal and it was well worth the price for how much you get with it. Amazing scenery and view as well. Once you are done eating, you can either stroll by a farmers market or hike up a mountain for an even better view. There is no seating area so you have to find somewhere to eat, beware of the seagulls!

I stopped here in my time in Howth before a hike to get some food because the locals raved about their fish and chips and was not disappointed! If you like fish and chips this will be one of the best places you'll ever try. The fish was flakey and the chips were meaty and delicious in addition the amount of sauces they offer you is a fun surprise. The atmosphere around the place was nice and while you wait for your order you have a lovely view of Howth city and the beautiful Irish Sea!

I tried. I tried so hard...to take a picture of our delicious take out before everything was inhaled and demolished without even a crumb for those circling gulls. This our my favorite take out for fish and chips but I recently tried their chicken and chips as well. Swoon. I like mine with salt and malt vinegar so the staff puts exactly the right amount. Come during odd hours otherwise you'll be standing in long lines with the tourists and locals for these bags of deliciousness.

Hands down, the best fish and chips I've ever tasted. We ordered the cod and chips. The batter on the fish is really delicious. It is light and not too greasy. There is a really nice crunch to it. The crunchiness really complimented the soft flakiness of the cod. The fish was cooked perfectly and not at all dry. The fries (chips) were also really delicious. Perfectly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. When you pick up your order, they will ask if you want salt and vinegar on your order. The answer is, "YES" you absolutely must get the salt and vinegar. It adds so much flavor to the food. You can also ask for lemons and tartar sauce. There are no tables/chairs in the restaurant, it is purely a takeaway place. However, there are tons of benches and beautiful lawns right in front of the restaurant. Just beware of the seagulls who are always on the lookout for a piece of fish!

Hot, fast, fresh. Can't ask for much more. I haven't had much fish and chips in my life, but this one was the best one by far. The portion is QUITE large so I would even recommend sharing with a friend if you're just looking to try it out! The tartar was good--very tangy.

    * Best Fish 'n Chips I've ever had.* Beshoff has a beautiful restaurant and small food market, however, we opted for their take out spot across the street on the main road. The little shop is take out only but there are plenty of benches across the street in the dockside park. The fish was lightly fried and delicious. We upgraded from their Hake (7.95 Euros) to the North Atlantic Fresh Cod -a milder fish. (9.95 Euros) The electronic screen tells you when your fish is being fried. Ha Located in the quaint fishing village of Howth - this is a must see.

Fish n chips fast casual, this location was to go only (in Ireland it's referred to take-away) ......I took it to the pub next door and it was delish~ Very fresh, good quality and I am craving some of this as I write! Too bad I will not be back until June! you peeps are lucky to have this as an option fast food option. It was better then (the restaurant near by) and 1/2 the price Sorry Chef it's true! at first I had my nose up in the air about it (I thought of Long John Silver) but I am glad my snobby side did not keep me from trying it! nom nom nom

I don't really understand the 4's and 5's this place is getting. Very very touristy. Over priced. Dry average fish in probably too much batter. Chips are grand but not the best I ever had. What I do like is they have the calorie on the menu. Although how accurate is that when you are not selling something made in a factory? I also really like the staff. Super friendly. Bit of banter. Now whilst my fish was dried up and not great my cousin got the scampi and this was a huge improvement on the fish. But I am sorry if you cannot get a smoked haddock and chips correct when you are paying 10 euro to take it away then you're not going to get me running back.

Although there are three Beshoff Bros in total, the one in Howth gets the most customers. The greasy food tastes much better when you're smelling the salty air and watching the Ferris Wheel spin round and round. I experienced something similar when I went to Howth yesterday. It was a beautiful hot day and my friends and I were sitting on the beach when one of us decided that we needed fish and chips to complete our summer outing. We piled into two cars, waited 20 minutes in traffic and finally got to Beshoff Bros. It was worth the trouble: our haddock and chips costs only 7 Euro and the pieces of fish were flaky, warm and salty. The man who took our order wasn't very nice having barked at us to move aside and not obstruct the line to the till. Nonetheless, I forgave his impatience when I got my delightful white box of food. Unlike other places where fish and chips are served in a bag, this takeaway's packaging prevents your whole hand from getting greasy and wet. I recommend this place to anyone who loves salty treats by the seaside.

The line is long, but the food is worth it. The place makes fish 'n chips and it does it damn well. It's great because you can't miss it - just take the DART to Howth, get off, walk left and follow the smell. It's one of the first buildings you'll see. Eat the fish 'n chips on the green grass, assuming it's not raining.

Hands down the best fish and chips I ever tried in my whole life. Try everything on the menu, it's all good. I did the seafood special and the smoked haddock. Ughhh yes. They know how to do a fresh fish fry.

Howth is the birthplace of the famous Beshoff's fish' n' chips franchise but its original shop is surprisingly small and has no seating for customers. But as we all know, good things come in small packages and the queue out the door is testament to its popularity. Of course, it does have the advantage of a perfect location. In the winter, a walk along Howth pier with a hot bag of chips can be a transcendental experience.

Since we were on this side of the town, we decided to make the most of it and look for a meal of seafood. I had Octopussy's Tapas bookmarked when researching for the trip, so we decided to stop in for lunch. It was a Thursday at around 1:30, and the restaurant was almost full. It's a very small restaurant and it's mostly high top tables with bar stools, so it wasn't exactly looking baby-friendly, since had our 8-month old and a stroller with us. Luckily, they have a small back room (literally a room that can probably seat 4-6 people) that was available, and they seat us back there. It was nice and cozy, and cute - decorated like you were on a ship. Here is what we ordered: -Carlingford Oysters (served in the shell with fresh lemon) - these oysters were everything! They were big, shucked properly, and tasted super fresh. It didn't need anything but the lemon but they did recommend us trying their housemade hot sauce. We did and we loved it, and ended up buying a bottle to take home. We also ended up ordering some more oysters for dessert (lol) -Seafood Chowder (squid, mussels, smoked coley, & prawns served with homemade brown bread) - this was full of seafood. It is heavy though since chowder is cream-based so I would recommend sharing this, as opposed to ordering one on your own. The brown bread was also very nice -Seafood Paella (paella rice, chorizo, mussels, gambas, squid rings, and smoked coley) - another dish filled with seafood. They don't skimp out here! I could have done without the squid rings (they tasted rubber-bandy, like they're from frozen), and the smoked coley. I'm not a huge fan of smoked foods. I didn't really taste it in the chowder - maybe the cream covered it up, but I was able to taste it more in the paella -Whiskey Scallops (cooked in whiskey butter) - very rich but the scallops were good. You definitely want to dip some of the brown bread in this sauce There were so many other dishes we wanted to try but we had to stop ourselves from ordering too much for two people. Overall, it was a great meal and at these prices for seafood?! You really can't beat it.

I'd definitely recommend as a low-key lunch spot. I stopped in for a super early lunch after a boat ride (It was 11:40ish) and was happy to see the dining area was already filling up. Some folks were ordering coffee, and others were skipping to lunch like me. I went with the crab burger and this thing was massive. I swapped regular fries for sweet potato fries for an extra few $$$. The portion size and quality ingredients = definitely worth the price. Once you leave the restaurant, you can walk through to the gift shop. I ended up buying quite a few trinkets for friends and family. It was one of the more impressive gift shops that I had seen while on my trip for sure! And they also have a fresh seafood selection on display. A little bit of everything!
