I give this place a 4 because of their affordability, helpfulness and tastiness. They have the best chicken Caesar salad, I have to get it when ever I order from here so good. For the Thanksgiving holiday and ensuing weekend, I ordered pizza from Berthoud Pizza Company. It's a small pizzeria and doesn't offer no dining in option. It's ALL takeout. I noticed some negative reviews of this place. However, I do not agree with those negative reviews. I actually enjoyed the pizza I ordered from here. My only slight constructive criticism is to have an ordering menu at the counter rather than hanging on a wall in front of a bench where people sit. Anyone sitting there blocks the view of the menu. My pizza wasn't burned. I felt it was baked to near perfection. I ordered a large deluxe. I had some pizza leftover for the next day. Each time I had a slice I thought how impressed I was with their pizza. I hedged between this pizzeria and another one in town. So glad I chose this one! I recommend Berthoud Pizza Company if you're in town visiting or local. Also, I love how they offer "Mike's Hot Honey" dipping sauce for your pizza crust. I bought one which was plenty for my pizza. I wish there was a 3.5. While I like BPC, it doesn't blow me away. I am notoriously harsh on pizza and this one just doesn't quite have it. While I like it more than an average place, it isn't something I will shout from the rooftops about. A little light on sauce and the crust could be a bit crispier. Close but no cigar. I was surprised it was called Berthoud Pizza company and it was in Loveland as I live in Berthoud but it was truly worth the trip! The pizza was fabulous! Got moldy Mac and cheese. I order some food from here to pickup. I got a pizza, wings, garlic knots, and Mac and cheese. Looked at the Mac and there is a green clump of what seems to be mold. I called the place and the guy was not very willing to help either. He claimed that there was "blue cheese" within the Mac. We have gotten this item before and there is never blue cheese. Even so there is only one clump no other place in the Mac has this "blue cheese". It doesn't even list blue cheese as part of the item. In areas that are slowly becoming more and more dominated by corporate chains, it's difficult to find good local places anymore. Berthoud Pizza Company is an exception. We visited BPC while in Colorado for a Christmas vacation and we have NO regrets. Very small, simple place but constant traffic in and out. We decided to sit inside and eat there. We were able to catch the end of a good football game and enjoy a supreme pizza and a ham and pineapple one. When they got my pizza wrong, they were all too adamant about making it right and were so sweet about it. Bonus points for the garlic knots that were ridiculously good!
