Found the car I was looking for sitting on the lot in the very town I live in. Sales person Zach was friendly and informative. Ended up working with Zach and the Sales Manager Jacob on closing the deal. Was very pleased with the overall purchase. Very nice, hand picked, clean car, with low mileage at a good price. Went to get the car inspected the day after purchasing. I was told the tint was illegal and had to be removed to pass MA state inspection. (The tint has to be factory in Mass). This was a concern when I made the purchase. Tint was removed and car passed inspection. I was told I would get a call about having legal tint added back to the vehicle since they don't actually do this process at the dealership. I did not get that call so I called Jacob a couple days later and while he advised tint is not something they normally cover under the warranty he was able to get it approved for me and tint was added back to the vehicle quickly by a 3rd party and paid for right away by the dealership. I really appreciated this because I have sensitive eyes and the car did have tint when I purchased it and I thought it should be covered adding it back. Jacob went above and beyond to help out a local customer and make sure I was fully satisfied. I will definitely consider buying a vehicle from them again. read more

My son bought an equinox their from Zach with 2000 miles on it , at 20000 miles all tires have metal showing and one of the tires was a different brand. Had to pay over 1200 for all four tires and $120 for an alignment, spoke to service manager and said idk what you do when you leave. Seriously he drives like a grandma and he travels etc 9 everyday , imagine if they blew on that stretch ugh. This place needs to be investigated. read more

Just bought a 32k car in cash and they registered the car with the last name misspelt on the registration. After not hearing anything from them for over a week, I had to call them for the salesperson Ryan to tell me that its now my problem with the registry. So, because the person in THEIR office misspelt it in the first place, now I have to make an appointment with the CT registry, take time off from work, and go deal with someone else's typo. I showed up @ 12:55 and was told "sorry, the tech wouldn't be back from lunch until 1:30 as he had to work a longer morning shift...? That's fair but when I showed back up @1:32 there were 2 others waiting at the service desk to get their cars inspected. OK whatever.. But now they couldn't locate the tech and the service manager was trying to get an "ETA" from him. What a complete S*-#T Show. I should have read the reviews which now reaffirms my visit/experience that this place deserves the 1 star most give it. I am absolutely appalled by my experience with this dealership. Kyle Vonick contacted me directly through my Facebook Marketplace ad, asking that I bring in a vehicle we had for sale because they were interested in purchasing it. Kyle didn't even show up to the appointment he scheduled with me. During the appraisal, they told us exactly what the truck was "worth," what they intended to sell it for, and offered a number that seemed fair based on those representations. We trusted their word -- only to find out days later that they listed the same vehicle for $6,000 more than they said they would, and at a valuation more than double what they claimed it was worth during the appraisal. That is blatant dishonesty and a complete lack of transparency. What makes this even worse is the personal disrespect shown during the process. This truck belonged to my stepfather, who passed away from cancer earlier this year. Ryan Gasteyer, one of their salesmen -- a former classmate of mine -- actually had the audacity to call my late stepfather a "maniac" for the price he originally paid for the truck. I cannot begin to describe how offensive, unprofessional, and disrespectful that was. This dealership misled us for their own profit and displayed an utter disregard for basic decency and ethics. Disappointing Car Buying Experience at Betera ​Chevy Palmer I recently ​visited Betera ​Chevy Palmer​ with my daughter who had her heart set on a Red Trax and was thoroughly disappointed with the experience. From the outset, there were issues that made the process frustrating and ultimately led me to walk away from the deal. Initially, ​she was told they would "try" to get $2000 for my trade-in. This vague promise, unfortunately, did not materialize, which was the first red flag. It felt like a tactic to get me in the door rather than a genuine appraisal. However, the most egregious issue arose much later in the negotiation. After spending approximately t​hree hours ​on site going through the process and clearly stating that I intended to finance through my local bank, I was suddenly informed that their dealership requires financing for the deal to be valid. This was a complete shock and felt like a bait-and-switch tactic. To withhold such a critical piece of information until the very end of the negotiation process is, in my opinion, dishonest and disrespectful of a customer's time. Even without these significant issues, the deal itself was not particularly competitive. The combination of the unfulfilled trade-in promise, the late revelation about financing requirements, and an already unappealing offer made it clear that this was not the right place for me to purchase a car.​ Unfortunately, My daughter had her heart set on this car and went through with her purchase but I would like to warn other consumers of the very unprofessional business practices of Bertera Chevy and mention I called Central Chevy in W. Springfield and they laughed at me and said "I'm sorry we dont play those games here and would be more than happy to help you with your car buying and sounds like it would be a much better experience for you" I would caution others to be extremely diligent and ask very specific questions upfront if considering Betera Palmer for a car purchase. I brought my 2025 Equinox in for the first oil change, 2 hours later I left thinking everything was set. two weeks later I decided to check the oil my self, the oil level was just above the add level! it was 3/4 of a quart low! while the level was in between the marks, I've never had a oil change where the oil level wasn't at the full mark. They are focused on getting your money and will do anything to get more. Don't trust this dealer to anything but line there pockets and waste your time! read more

So, I thought these people were heros, but I went there and it turns out they are all zeros. Transmission blew. They said it will be $8700. I went to Demores in palmer to get a price from there. They said it would be $6790. I informed Chevy. And Chevy acted like I was the president of the United States and cut the price down to $5700. BUT, It still ended up being $7200 due to needing extras to fix it and labor . They also said i needed my oil pan replaced because of a oil leak, quoted that at $1300 After having chevy fix my transmission . I checked in town at Harveys Auto. Harveys said they could fix my oil pan leak for under a $100 it was only a plate and 2 bolts that were bad! I had them fix my AC system too for under $300! Chevy is a scam. Found a beautiful Tacoma online on there lot. contacted the dealer and let them know I would be out to look at this one particular truck.They were well aware that I was driving a little over an hour and a half to come see this truck! Now keep in mind according to cargurus this vehicle has been on there lot for at least 30+ days so servicing should of been done by now. I was working with both Zach and Kayla when I got there I went in and inquired about said vehicle. Zach sat me down and was more interested in my trade in and what I had even before showing me the truck. While we were talking I witnessed Kayla sneak out the side door and go to where the truck was get in the truck and drive it in one of the bays of the garage. We went out and I told Zach before we get any further I would like to actually see the truck and see if I even liked it. He told me it was up in the front so I got in my car to go and see said vehicle. To come to find out that they supposedly brought it in for "maintenance " and it was up on the lift at the moment and I wasn't even able to see it. I had every intention on purchasing this truck if it ran smooth was mechanically sound etc... The fact that they knew I was coming far away from them to legit purchase and then when I got there pulled these slime ball car sales tactics is absolutely ridiculous!! Paid good money for my truck. I had a few things that needed to get fixed. They failed fixing it. Had water leaks. They lied to me several times about fixing it until they finally decided to seal things up. Have a clunk in the front end. They tell me it's normal. Turns out it's the transfer case. Took my mom's 2016 Malibu in for an oil change and inspection. The total bill was $117 which I figured $35 of that was for the inspection. After discussing it with them it turn out they charge $100 for an oil change!!! On a 4 cyl car. Shame on them. I thought I had found a good place to service my car but no way! I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and took my Silverado there for new tire pressure sensor monitors to be installed. Online I can get them for $41 but when I got my bill it was $699!! They charged $95 a sensor. Complete rip-off don't do business with them. Take the extra drive and go elsewhere. read more

Bertera had a 2012 toyota corolla for sale with a price of $7877. I sent an email offering $7300. Both a salesman and a saleswoman called me (not going to mention names) twice the next day and left messages that they were interested in my offer. I called one of them back and told him if we could do the price of the $7300 I offered in my email inquiry, I'd be interested, and could come in on Friday (this call was a Tuesday). He said we could do the deal and asked if I'd like to put a deposit or take my chances and just show up on Friday...I put a good faith deposit of $500. So on Friday, I drove up from CT, about an hour, I was greeted right away, and things looked good, they gave me the keys and let me test drive on my own. I liked the car. Said let's do it. Keep in mind, I am still under the "ASSumption" they are going to stick by their word for the deal at $7300 as AGREED ON over the phone. Again, this was verbally AGREED ON!!!!! To me your word is Gold! I run a successful property maintenance business and do well because of MY WORD and work ethic! After 2 hours or so waiting, we started finally filling out paperwork. When the Bill of sale was put in front of me to sign, i noticed the original asking price of $7877. I said "Wait a second, we had a deal for $7300" I even had a voicemail I played to the salesmen of him saying we could do the $7300. Well, he went into the "salesman lingo" speak of why I'm getting a great deal at the $7877, etc... basically a bunch of BS talk typical of stealerships. I insisted, no we had a deal at $7300!!! He finally admitted, "yes Ron you're right, my bad", then went into a room with his higher up. Came back and said they can't do it at my price. I was disgusted, and immediately lost respect for that guy. Thought to myself, What about your WORD?! A deal, verbally from a legit big dealership should fucking be honored!? Am I right!??? Well NO....wouldn't budge... So I thought for a second that i didn't want to continue my car search and play this game any longer wasting my time with these scummy dealerships as I just did, and said to myself, "F it! I'll pay the extra about $600 and be done with it" So in the end I took the car paid some extra because my time is valuable and I have my business to run. I get home and later realize the hood doesn't open like it should without placing your hand where the rubber gasket liner is and pulling it up....in other words, when pulling the "open hood latch" It does NOT pop open at all....Whatever, I'm not bringing this car back to THAT dealer ever again....Nor will I ever recommend them to many local business owners i know who may have purchased a vehicle from them in the future. Ad to that friends and family who i would have recommended. When you make a deal...THAT agreed upon price is your word, as good as a signature as far as I'm concerned. Re-Negged on the deal....SCUM! So the extra $600-$700 they got from me will cost them MUCH more over the years from lost business...DUMB on their part! Never will i do business with Bertera again as long as i live. LESSON LEARNED! In the future I'll not put a deposit, also get it in writing or at least ask for permission to record the deal over the phone. As well as confirming the price agreed upon the moment I walk in the door. I just want to start by saying that my salesman Jason was a great guy. This review is not a reflection on him, but more my experience with the dealership overall. I own 5 vehicles and buy/sell/trade one of them every 6-12 months. Ive purchased vehicles all the way from Jeeps to Porsches. In all my transactions, I've never had an experience as disappointing and just plain deceitful as I did with Bertera Chevrolet. Bertera had a Jeep Grand Cherokee that I was interested in as an additional vehicle for an au Pair that I have living with us. I saw the car on both cars.com and CarGurus listed for $19,800, it had been sitting on the lot for 6 months or so. I called the dealer to make sure they still had it available so that I could avoid making the 2 hour drive down if it was already under agreement. Salesman Mike told me "great news, it's available". I told them I would head down but didn't have much time, so please have the car ready at 12:30. I prefer not to waste my time or theirs. I get to the dealership and mike is busy, so I waited about half an hr, so I opt to work with another salesman, Jason. Great guy, we started with some initial documentation. He took my info, asked what vehicle I was interested in asked how would I purchase if we reached an agreement (cash, finance, down payment etc). I told them I was ready to make a deal happen that day and I was willing to pay cash or finance if it made the deal go smoother. He finds the vehicle, pulls it around front and we take it for a test drive. After the test drive I let him know that I liked the vehicle but it needed a few things, tires would have to be replaced soon and the brakes I could tell the rotors needed to be replaced. Jason went to talk to his manager and comes out with an initial offer off almost $22,000!! Yes, more than $2,000 over the initial asking price of the vehicle. I asked how we could be starting that high. He let me know that there's a $2,150 additional charge over the price listed online because the price listed online is the wholesale price. I said that I didn't see that anywhere in either listing. He informed me that if I clicked through to their website directly, I would have seen it. So at this point, even though I'm a cash buyer they still wouldn't honor the wholesale price but wanted to "work with me". Never in all my vehicles have I dealt with a joke sales tactic like this. After a short back and forth I could tell this wasn't going to work and left the dealership to drive another 2 hrs home. Wasted 5-6 hrs of my day with these guys. The irony of the whole thing is they have this joker Brian Yarrows picture on every listing picture with the quote "buying a car doesn't have to be so complicated".. yet they play these games which gives them an average of 3 stars for a dealer rating. I saw a nice white 2020 Silverado on their website for $33,936. I live 2 hours away, so I called them up and gave them a deposit to hold the truck until the following day when I could make the trip. The sales rep also said that Bertera would match and beat any trade-in offer already received, so it sounded like a pretty solid deal. Between me getting details about the truck, and providing details about my trade-in, I spoke to the sales rep maybe 4 or 5 times to get my deal in place. The following day, I drove 2 hours to find that my truck was sold the day before. They had pretty much the same truck in a different color, so I figured I'd move on to plan B. I was then told that the dealership wouldn't match my trade-in offers. I had (2), in writing, but they would not honor them. They offered me $2000 less than every dealership up until this point. Lastly, I learned that the $33,936 price online is bogus and misleading. This particular number was about $3000 low, because the fine print says something about a trade-in allowance. When speaking to the sales rep the days prior, this was not mentioned. I was told $33,936. I was promised: -A 2020 White RST Silverado -Selling price of $33,936 (as per the website and sales rep) -Match or beat my best trade-in offer (which was $23,500) What I showed up to: -A different truck, because they sold mine the day before (after I gave them a deposit to hold it) -Selling price of $36,600+ -An initial trade-in offer of about $20,000. They bumped it a few times to $22,000, but didn't honor the "match or beat" offer that was presented to me on the phone. My experience with Bertera Chevrolet was horrible. It absolutely baffles me why a company whose bread and butter is customer relations would hire someone who treats their customers like garbage. After reading a bunch of reviews on this joint, it is clear they have a systemic problem with treating people with dignity and respect. After this debacle with them today, I called Burke Chevrolet in Northampton and guess what? The parts department guy told me "No problem. Bring your registration and we will get you squared away. The hours here make no sense. They're only open 9 to 5 on weekdays they have worse hours than a bank. Nobody with a real job can buy a car here unless you take a vacation day or a sick day. Went to start "working the numbers" and right from the top of the worksheet they give you too look at, they added $2150 to the price they advertised saying it's a retail markup! The explanation was that it was how much it costs to service the vehicle. Never have I ever had that retail markup and I've bought 9 cars in my lifetime. Then they stated that the price they advertise is the wholesale price, that example being if a person from a wholesale company came by and wanted to buy this vehicle they would sell it to that wholesale person for the price advertised, because they can just drive it off the lot and that's it. What wholesaler is coming to Palmer to buy 1 SUV? Uh none! Old bait and switch, they have been added to my small list (which is getting bigger) if dealerships I will not go to or recommend. I had a very good experience buying a car this week. I had been in an accident on Thursday and my husband and I started looking for a car on Monday. We found a used car in our range and made an appointment. Taylor was our salesperson and she was really fantastic. She was helpful and got us into the car I wanted by Thursday. I picked it up today, no issues at all so far. They cleaned it, had a full tank of gas and I was very pleased. The reason for not putting 5 stars is it was advertised with a backup camera and does not have one. That was one feature I really was excited about. Another horrible experience in my quest for a new car. Im from CT and all i wanted was an itemized sales offer before i drove all the way there. They refused! On their website the price was $46305, great just send me an itemized total and we can negotiate. They refused! They would not confirm that the price was $46305! Bought a 2006 toyota sienna a few years back, Within a month (under warranty) brought it back for one door not opening. they sent me to toyota to confirm the issue where Toyota found other issues including the transmission and one being a leaking steering rack. Bertera refused to pay despite this being a safety issue and I couldn't pay either. fast forward to today and another mechanic saying the same thing toyota said, its very dangerous and now I have to pay out of pocket because bertera refused to honor my initial 60day warranty. currently gathering all paperwork to prove this issue was known to them while under warranty and they refused to pay. read more

Wow this is the worst rated NEW CAR DEALER I've seen yet. I came on here to tell of my unprofessional dealings just by email with this place that were bad enough to keep me from even going there ! They are really good at one thing... scaring away customers before they even get there ! Blessing in disguise I guess. Saved me gas, and time so thank you for that. I was inquiring about a car I was interested in and asked if the price was still negotiable considering the car had an accident report on Carfax, and 4 previous owner. (2011 Impala LT, Black) Someone by the name of Samantha replied with this song and dance that it wasnt an accident but rather a damage report !! Then tries to sugar coat it saying it could have been a branch or shopping cart. For Carfax to get wind of this it would have to have been a significant enough damage claim through the insurance co. and obviously higher than the owner's deductible. Or no one would find out about it especially since there was no "motor vehicle accident" report made. (An example would be hitting a tree in your own driveway). Police wont do accident reports in such cases. Anyways she was throwing out guesses arguing with me back and forth by email until I had enough. I would never buy a car from this place. Too many red flags before they even got me in the door ! So I wasn't surprised to see their 1.5 star rating on here ! read more
