The sculptures that dot the park are of the typical modern-art variety: one is a set of mailboxes painted block with menacing statements on them, another is a bench of sorts, and a third is a windmill thing, which is set to spin every which way in the wind. The sculptures are pretty cool, and done by some Denver locals. Naturally it is free. Still, when someone told me that we should go to the sculpture park I was excited, expecting something grand. However this park is really just a small neighborhood park with some sculptures in it, so while not worth a drive, this place is worth walking through if you are around Union Station.

You can tell there's a real effort here to make this space not just fun, but meaningful--teaching people about ecology and conservation without it feeling like a lecture. Even though we were still technically in the city, it felt quiet and peaceful. Families were out enjoying the space, and a few kids were running around barefoot in the grassy areas.
