Not a lot of shade on the playground side of things. The toddler slide was scalding hot so I wouldn't let my daughter go down it.. The creek was pretty waterless so we couldn't really play in that either. Splash pad was ok. It seemed like the skate park was good but we're not there yet.

The fence isn't too easy to see unless you're right on top of it. Anyway, Tanglewood Park has a nice sized field and a baseball diamond next to the play area. The playground is nice. There are two sections to it. The larger one has wood chips in it, and the smaller one has sand. The larger section has a large play structure with numerous slides on it. There are two regular swings and two small swings. The smaller side has a boat, a couple of rockers and a sand tractor thingy. While we were there, a lot of kids took their socks and shoes off to play in the sand. The area looked pretty clean, so this wasn't a cause for freaking out. There were about 5-15 kids playing at any given time, with some coming and going pretty often. There were moms and grandparents there, and they all seemed friendly and approachable. There is a large shelter next to the large playground. There are numerous picnic tables underneath, as well as two or three which are not under the shelter. When we visited, there were a ton of parking spaces in the parking lot, although I can see the lot filling up when there's a baseball or football game going on. In all, this is a nice and well maintained park.

Very bike-able going through on the nearby trail and all the sidewalks are wide for strollers, dogs, walking groups, and people biking or skating along. Really enjoy the design and open layout of this park. I've seen a few birthday parties hosted at the nearby tables adjacent to the playground. Still even on the weekends the park never seems to be over crowded. Even in the heat of summer the water features next to the playground are in use but not swarmed. Lots of nice businesses nearby you can walk to so a great location all around. Certainly one of the premier parks in the local area.

I love Ralston Central…read more The splash park is turned on Memorial Day through Labor Day and it is so cute + I actually love running through it on my hot day runs. The sand volleyball is great but bring your own net and wear shoes because the sand is mostly just small rocks. The grass is always well kept and only sucks when they aerate and all the plugs are laying around waiting to be stepped on. But overall I love this park! The view is currently getting taken over by a new build apartment complex but I guess it was only a matter of time.

This park used to be known as "peter pan park" but lately we've sadly been calling it "dog poop…read morepark" after counting nearly 100 piles of dog poop in the grass areas near the walking paths. It has gotten so bad. Leaving dog poop is illegal in Westminster and people should be fined but there's no one enforcing it and parks crews don't clean it up either.

The only equipment of the playground which move, besides the swings, is the lone rocking horse. There is a large field with a path all around it. The south parking lot doesn't see too much traffic, which is perfect when it comes to taking littler ones here. There's a giant port-a-potty on site, but I haven't needed it, so I don't know what condition it's in.

There are 3 access points by parking in a cul-de-sac, and there's one path which looks like it goes to the street (to the north and west of the park). There's a decent field to run around in, full of lush green grass. The park is bordered by backyards. Some are fenced, others have bushes or minimal boundaries. During our short visit (rain), we saw two unleashed dogs without owners. Neither showed aggression, but you can never be too careful around unfamiliar dogs. There is a shelter with a couple of picnic tables. And there's a basketball hoop (no net) next to that. On the other side of the shelter there is a rocky horse and crane. I like that there are big established trees, which will be perfect for picnics. The playground is nice and fairly new looking with gravel instead of wood chips. There are no swings. One last note, as I walk around the playground, I see they've incorporated adult exercises, such as a crunch bar. Very cool!

It's not the prettiest park but I like coming here when I just want to get away from everything and don't want to walk around a busy park like Sloan's. There is plenty of parking as well.

Some light trails if you want some exercise at 7400 feet. Always a little Cooler up here. I wish they never closed the snack bar/ gift shop. There are bathrooms and a pretty good amount of parking. The buffalo bill museum still exists in its "old form." See it soon before the city/county of Denver (the owner of all this land, despite it being well outside Denver city limits) changes it.
