    Preparing for the day!

Awesome place to take it easy and get away for the day. Cool creek is popular parking is paid and fills up fast. PARK App and is $1.25 an hour. 45 minutes from the east plains. The water is cold and calm right now which makes for a great tube ride. Especially on these hot summer days. If you haven't done it I highly recommend it and then go check out, the little town of Golden. Explore the cool shops, taverns and eateries. Don't forget to look up at Table Rock for one of Colorado's iconic rock features. On Sundays during the summer months they have vintage car rallies. Very nostalgic. If you see me floating down Cool Creek say Hello or SYOY!

One of the most beautiful places to walk by with beautiful and clear water by your side. Definitely got some great pictures of the river during the winter.

Lovely little stretch of park off of Clear creek. It's nice that there are a couple of access points to the water. Pretty with snow. Would be so fun to come back in the summer to go tubing down this creek!

Not being from here it was a pleasant little walk. Look like an awesome place to canoe ! Trail can lead to a brewery in a hotel nearby ! Definitely take the time to go !

    Nice little sandy beach!

Came here for a pleasant picnic and tubing down the river! Great little sandy beach area to lay out a blanket and few folding chairs! Enjoyed munching on a sandwich and watching people tubing down the rapids. This is park is the half way point of the section of the river people float down. We brought inter-tubes, gave it try ourselves! Lots of fun!

    Larger side of the playground

This is a beautiful park in Golden! It is right next to the Golden Community Center and walking distance from Clear Creek Whitewater Park. As previously mentioned the playground has two main structures. There is a larger side for the big kids and a smaller side for the itty-bitties. The baby that was with me is a crawler and we had a great time exploring without worrying about older kids running by us. There are four baby swings near that side and I could see a set of regular swings closer to the big equipment. There is a sand volley ball court, a large pavilion, and water fountains next to the playground. East of this the park extends with beautiful grass, plenty of shade, another pavilion and plenty of large, spaced out picnic tables. Recently my boyfriend and I hosted a cookout at this park. The pavilion rental prices are outrageous if you ask me! It was somewhere around $150. The large picnic tables that are spread out near 10th St are first come first serve. We arrived around 10:00 am on a Saturday in June to secure a table and had no problem. Groups and families came and left for a picnic or similar type gatherings at the other picnic tables. We had plenty of space and shade for outdoor games, two grills, around 25 guests throughout the day, and a few canine friends. The location is perfect. Not only are the views wonderful but you're close to Clear Creek and downtown Golden. I wish the pavilion rentals weren't so outrageous but all in all its a great park!!

I'd say 25-30 spots? Keep in mind, this trailhead is POPPING. It's always busy, so know before you go. You can park at different places roadside, which will add to your hike total. The hiking trail is narrow, at times rocky, but mostly dirt. There are some nice views. If you're looking for a serene hike though, this definitely isn't it. I can't tell you the last time I encountered over 100 people on a hike. But again, it makes sense considering where it is. You get some nice views of the Great Divide and even the Coors brewery. There's not much shade, so sunscreen and a hat are a must. I'd probably do this hike again in the winter to avoid the crowds. It's one of the closest hikes to Denver and for the people who've never hiked a mountain I'm sure they'd love doing this one.

It felt like hiking 10 miles for hours, but was only 3 miles in one hour hahah. The only negative is there is no shade, so I got a really bad sunburn. I would give this a go again though! I will also say, we took a wrong turn at the loop and ended up going through a less traveled path. I'm not sure exactly where we went wrong but we ended up at the peak somehow. The trail was barely traveled on. It was strange. Either way a fun one!

The fence isn't too easy to see unless you're right on top of it. Anyway, Tanglewood Park has a nice sized field and a baseball diamond next to the play area. The playground is nice. There are two sections to it. The larger one has wood chips in it, and the smaller one has sand. The larger section has a large play structure with numerous slides on it. There are two regular swings and two small swings. The smaller side has a boat, a couple of rockers and a sand tractor thingy. While we were there, a lot of kids took their socks and shoes off to play in the sand. The area looked pretty clean, so this wasn't a cause for freaking out. There were about 5-15 kids playing at any given time, with some coming and going pretty often. There were moms and grandparents there, and they all seemed friendly and approachable. There is a large shelter next to the large playground. There are numerous picnic tables underneath, as well as two or three which are not under the shelter. When we visited, there were a ton of parking spaces in the parking lot, although I can see the lot filling up when there's a baseball or football game going on. In all, this is a nice and well maintained park.
