What a nice place to take a break from driving. They've got a cute path around the park, one that allows you to walk alongside Bear Creek with a little 'beach' area with lots of tall grass surrounding that. With a medium sized playground for kids ages 6 or so to 12, right next to it is a smaller, toddler play area with a border around it to keep the littler ones from wandering. Picnic tables are located under the trees on the south side of the park and there's an open field area (decently sized) on the east side nearest the parking area. Fun little park on the west side of Welch Ave. just across from the Kittredge Animal Clinic.

Not to mention a covered seating area with multiple picnic tables. They've also added a putting green area to practice your short game, but make sure to bring your own golf balls and putter/wedge. The park can get pretty busy in the summer with birthday parties, baseball games, and other group events, but it is a great environment and there are plenty of things to keep people busy.

What a great little park! There are two play ground areas. Don't be fooled... the one that's off…read more20th is actually for the preschool there and it's fenced in. The fence isn't too easy to see unless you're right on top of it. Anyway, Tanglewood Park has a nice sized field and a baseball diamond next to the play area. The playground is nice. There are two sections to it. The larger one has wood chips in it, and the smaller one has sand. The larger section has a large play structure with numerous slides on it. There are two regular swings and two small swings. The smaller side has a boat, a couple of rockers and a sand tractor thingy. While we were there, a lot of kids took their socks and shoes off to play in the sand. The area looked pretty clean, so this wasn't a cause for freaking out. There were about 5-15 kids playing at any given time, with some coming and going pretty often. There were moms and grandparents there, and they all seemed friendly and approachable. There is a large shelter next to the large playground. There are numerous picnic tables underneath, as well as two or three which are not under the shelter. When we visited, there were a ton of parking spaces in the parking lot, although I can see the lot filling up when there's a baseball or football game going on. In all, this is a nice and well maintained park.

Tiny Town. A town that is tiny!…read more I'm so glad I read the reviews first so I knew what to expect. My daughter and I arrived around 11am and we decided to have a little picnic in the back of the car, which seemed easier than trying to carry stuff through TT until we reached the picnic tables. The scenery is so pretty here, which made our little trunk picnic even more special! My daughter is 5 and was probably JUST young enough to enjoy it. We rode the train first--a short but cute ride--and then made our way through the town. She loved checking out all of the buildings, as well as seeing how they were decorated inside. So many dolls and scenes! The playground is sparse and outdated, but of course we had to spend a little time there. Our only negative experience was with the woman working the register in the gift shop. We were buying something, and my daughter picked up a little trinket that you're supposed to turn over + watch the bubbles move. Instead of just asking her to put it down (again: it's for playing with! And it was right in front of her face!) she ripped it out of her hands. While this doesn't classify as touching someone else's kid, it was close enough for me. Overall, a 4-star experience! I'm glad we took the time to go.

My daughter is three years old, and that is the demographic this place is best geared for. She was amazed by the tiny houses, and the train ride was a blast. I'm glad I was able to show her a spot from my childhood.
